Goodness, drama all round in my brief absence! But all sorted too. Phew!

Flouncy, you won't regret your trip to Booths. Their cheese counter is immense! 🧀🧀🧀🧀

I was planning my Christmas cheese purchases today! My in laws have said they'll pick my order up from Booths as we'll be away until Christmas Eve. Phew!

I'll get the Booths order and then everything from Sainsbury's in my usual delivery.

Welcome MissM sorry to hear about your neighbour troubles. It's rubbish when you have problematic neighbours!

Have a lovely holiday Emrys and I hope AF isn't too bad for you, you have my sympathies!

Everyones garden/allotment looks great. Very envious of those who can grow their own veg. Between a cat and a 3 yr old who loves to cause mayhem outside, I wouldn't get very far Grin

Gorgeous weather here in W Yorks, 26/27 degrees! Went for a run like the mad woman I am in it but feeling great! Not very Xmassy tho!

Can I ask a cheeky favour and ask you all to keep fingers and toes crossed for me? I had a second stage job interview almost a week ago and not heard anything back Hmm

MissMalone99 · 22/07/2019 16:35

Fluffy you shouldn’t leave the thread again, when you leave my life kicks off😂😂. What cheese do you get for Christmas usually? I’m not a big cheese fan, but my DM is coming over this year and she loves it.

Thank you Pixie, I’ve not had a bad neighbour until today. I just hope this is the end of it. I’ll keep everything crossed for you!!.

It’s chicken fajitas for tea tonight! My cousin (Jake’s namesake) is coming over for tea and we can’t wait. He’s been off traveling since April and he’s got DS little goodies from his trip.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2019 17:33

We get all sorts of cheese! Looking at what Booths has on offer last year, we'll be getting:

Stilton;
West Country crunchy cheddar;
Garstang Blue;
Lancashire; and
Brie.

I may well get a Blacksticks blue and a smoked cheese too, to go with.

Good luck with the job, Pixie. Have you chased up?

Thank you Fluffy. I’ll do a cheese board for her for Christmas Day then.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2019 18:57

The cake layers are in the oven. 🎂

Miss, I bake them because it seems daft not to when I can. And they can't have buttercream unless it's dairy free, so it's safer to make it myself anyway!

Fluffy fair play to you. Can we see pictures when it’s done?. I baked this Christmas cake last year, I’m going to try and improve upon it for next year.

Mrs gosh that’s a lot of presents, he must be very loved!.

NoWordForFluffy · 22/07/2019 21:03

That's better than the cakes I do, Miss!

I've just wrapped DS' presents as I won't have time tomorrow. Just his card to write now (and DD needs to write hers too).

I'm glad my kitchen never gets direct sun as otherwise decorating the cake would be bloody impossible in the heat predicted tomorrow.

We've been told we can dress down at work because of it, which is good!

Mrs, that's an amazing haul of presents. He must be very good at his job!

I hope you're resting now.

That's a fab cake miss! Ours always tastes amazing and looks awful Grin

I fell asleep at 8 last night and DH at 08:20. Must have been all the swimming and going down the flumes which DS loved.

mathanxiety · 23/07/2019 06:32

May I join? It's almost August Shock

NoWordForFluffy · 23/07/2019 06:54

Morning!

It's positively glorious this morning. Which means I'll be dying in a sweaty heap later on! Thank god it's dress down today so I can wear a light summer dress!

Hi math! Yep, almost August. Which means downhill til Strictly starts. Yay! Mrs, did you see who the new judge is, by the way? It was announced yesterday!

I've just been googling spider web patterns to ice onto the top of the cake. I'm not doing red fondant all over though as I've coloured the sponge so that would be too much colouring for small stomachs to contend with!

I wish I was off today! But I'm preparing for holiday, so no chance. Boo!

MissMalone99 · 23/07/2019 11:13

Thank you Fluffy and Emrys!. I’ll be doing some for family this year, I’ll be sure to post pics

Emrys I’m glad you’re having a cracking time.

Hiya math

Fluffy definitely don’t do too much colouring, they’ll be off their face on sugar. I love holiday packing, I’ll be getting ours ready soon and I can’t wait!.

This week seems to be dragging, DS has gone to nursery and I’ve got work in a bit. Then we might go and visit my mum later, or have her over and sit in the back garden in this lovely weather.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/07/2019 13:42

It's not the sugar that's the problem. The colouring does odd things to their stomachs and therefore their 💩 No idea what / why, just that it's one to avoid!

I have to admit to not liking Christmas cake! It's too heavy for me. I don't like Christmas pudding either.

I just treated myself to a Flake ice cream. Perfect in this weather.

Hello sorry ive been MIA again for a while. All a bit busy here at the moment and im picking up a few extra shifts so we have some spenDing money for our holiday in a few weeks.

Today is my day off and usually a day all to myself but as its the summer holidays its been all go. We left the house at 9.30 this morning and i have only just sat down. The DC had a fabulous time though.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/07/2019 18:27

Ours broke up today, Cish. Where are you off to on holiday?

I can't decorate the cake tonight, it's too hot. So I've just set my alarm for 6 to do it when it's cooler!

NerosFiddle · 23/07/2019 18:44

Evening all.

We have finally had a great day weather wise. We were out all day and now dc are exhausted.

If it's the same tomorrow I think a bbq is in order, along with a cold bottle of white wine.

AdoraBell · 23/07/2019 18:57

Just remembered I also have cologne for DH and eye make-up for eldest DD. MUST remember where I’ve stashed those.

PrincessConsuela12 · 23/07/2019 19:21

Hello ladies!

I was very surprised a thread for Christmas had already started, I am told by everyone around me that it is far too early but I really enjoy Christmas & thought I'd try my luck on here 🎄

I have already started my Christmas list and have pretty much decided what I'm getting most people (except DH but his birthday is in September so I'll decide after that).

Sadly last Christmas I suffered an ectopic pregnancy and I couldn't enjoy myself, when I came out of the other side it was January & the one time of year I really look forward to has passed so this year I have decided I'd really like to do a lot of Christmas related things - gingerbread houses, carol concerts etc so hoping this thread will give me lots of ideas 🎄
