Evening all.

Welcome all newbies.

Enjoy your holidays all you are going away.

I've had a few interviews last week and another couple this week. It feels strange after so long to be going back to work.

The weather has been atrocious here today as anyone who watched the golf could attest to.

Fluffy has your GR book arrived yet?

Has the ponce thread started yet? I can't see it yet and I do t remember who starts it every year.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/07/2019 19:24

Yes, it's arrived. But I've not looked properly at it really. My Delia book arrived on the same date. Which means I've bought 3 Christmas cooking books in the last month or so! Xmas Grin

I had to raise a complaint with the seller re the GR book though as it was listed as brand new but was battered when it arrived. I got them to refund the amount which would take it down to second hand value.

I think the ponce thread starts on 25 September. There was a 'pre-ponce' thread last year if you wanted to start one this year though!

Our weather is bizarre. I think a storm is brewing now, however.

Neros How do you think you got on with your interviews?. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you🤞🏻

Crikey Fluffy, that’s bad re the GR book. Did they think they’d get away with itShock!.

It’s overcast and clammy over here and the air is wet. I think, like you Fluffy, there’s a thunderstorm pending. Let’s hope it clears overnight I dread the school run when it thunders.

cutebutscary · 21/07/2019 20:15

Wow a place where everyone is happy to talk about Christmas!! I'm in 😍

NoWordForFluffy · 21/07/2019 20:17

Miss, they swore they bought it a couple of weeks ago from WH Smith! But the damage didn't look recent (see photos). They gave me the refund without argument though.

We're forecast rain imminently. And heavy rain almost all night. The air needs to be cleared, doesn't it?

Hale Barns and Knutsford are the only ones in Cheshire. It's worth a trip, promise!

Hi! 👋🏻 * @cutebutscary*

Lord, Fluffy, that isn’t just damage from the journey is it!. It’s proper scuffed up. At least they refunded you some of the money though. The air truly does need to clear, I don’t like being outside much because it’s dead heat. The weathers just changed on my app and it says no rain for us until Friday, I hope that’s a glitch!.

I’ve never heard of Booths Flouncy. I’m boring and only do my shopping at Tescos, we have an express right over the road from our new house which means big shops are few and far between these days.

I’m just hopping in the shower and then it’s bedtime in our house. My son won’t sleep on his own and I’m trying to get him into his bed slowly but nothing seems to be happening. My DM says it’s separation anxiety so I’m trying to tread carefully because I don’t want to push him too far and then he goes backwards tenfold.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/07/2019 21:09

How old is your DS, Miss? It took DS until he was almost-4 to reliably sleep in his own bed! We just took the path of least resistance and let him come in with us so we all got sleep!

Where are you - vaguely - in the country? Booths is amazing (way more fancy than Waitrose!).

He turned 2 in May, Fluffy, so he’s a baby really. Without bringing the tone of the jolly Christmas thread down, we left his dad quite recently after DA and he has no contact with him, and we’ve moved home and he’s started a new nursery. So a lot of big changes for him recently, I think he likes the security of having me next to him. I don’t mind co-sleeping, it’s quite comforting for me too really, I just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing by him.

And I’m from the Midlands, I do have a car though so if it’s as magical as it seems to be I don’t mind the odd long drive.

NoWordForFluffy · 21/07/2019 21:37

Your nearest would be Knutsford then, I think. Which isn't so far really, though the M6 can be shite.

And yes, I agree re your DS. Just ride it out for as long as necessary.

Morning!

It's a glorious morning today. So warm and sunny! ☀️

It absolutely chucked it down last night too, so the garden is very happy.

My late sowing peas and runner beans are all through (47/48 and 23/24 respectively) and my broad beans (sown well out of season, but I reckon will catch up and harvest into autumn) are starting to poke through now. I expect to have almost 100% by the end of tomorrow, so 48.

I've been planning what I'm going to put in the ground next as I've a line of lettuce without many left. I might stick some carrots in there just to get something in!

Emrys, are you up and all packed?! Have a safe journey.

I've got to make DS' birthday cake tonight when I get home. Then I'll decorate it tomorrow night once he's in bed. Hopefully he'll love it (it's Spider-Man!).

I love mornings like this; they lift my mood!

It's drizzling here. Just had a row with DH as AF has started so this is the second holiday on a row ruined by it and he wasn't being sympathetic. Currently on the sofa refusing to go on holiday. Should probably grow up but I just need 10 mins of feeling sorry for myself.

EmrysAtticus · 22/07/2019 08:35

DH has apologised so we are back on track. Just loading the car now.

Morning!
I’ve had a terrible morning. My neighbour has threatened me because she thinks I’ve gone into her garden, when I haven’t. I’m absolutely bricking it. I hate confrontation and she’s extremely angry. Thankfully DS is in nursery already so I don’t have to worry about him, but I have to leave for work at 11 and I don’t want to leave the house in case she sees me.

Fluffy the weather’s beautiful here too. I bet your son will like his cake! I must say well done to you though, most people I know just buy their cake from Asda or the likes. I don’t see many people baking birthday cakes nowadays.

Emrys fair play to ya! I wouldn’t be moving either. At least it’s all sorted now though and you can get cracking on your holiday. I hope AF doesn’t ruin it too muchFlowers

Flouncy ooh! Thank you!. I’ll write it down and make sure I get cracking on it. I’ve just realised we have 2 bits of bunting in our back garden too. We’re drowning in it!.

flouncy I doubt she’d have it now I shut the door on her!. I’m going to give 111 a call and log it in with them. I did hide😂, I ran right to my bedroom and wouldn’t come out for ages.

I’d love the stocking pattern if you don’t mind. I’ll try and give these a go this year, I usually chicken out because I worry I will cock it all up. I just stick to the easier things.

Flouncy they’ve calmed down!. My DM’s partner came over to sit with me and calm me down and her and her husband came out to him and they all started shouting, then suddenly they both calmed down and apologised!. It’s like jekyll and hide!.
