New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

Not too sure what to do this weekend, maybe a picnic on the beach tomorrow and then swimming or the splash pad on Sunday. I think everything will have to be water based

Mrsmadevans · 28/06/2019 19:03

It was hilarious Jen , there was 1 fat sheep and 1 thin 1 but they all looked amazing and so sweet we all adored it Smile

Well done lovely it isn't noticeable on the photo , just pretend it is complete Smile

TheWoollybacksWife · 28/06/2019 22:35

Found you all! This thread isn't on my TIO and I keep losing it.

Belated happy birthdays to your DDs Fluffy and 70.

I feel your jigsaw pain Emrys. I've got a box of 4 Christmas jigsaws that I bought two years ago. I've done 3 so far over the last two Christmases - I'm going to do the last one this Christmas but it is the most difficult one.

Hope you are feeling a bit better Crazy

Thank goodness my DC are just a bit too old for that Harry Potter advent calendar Chips (2 of them are huuge Potter fans but are also adult 😂) however, I have a fabric advent calendar that I made years ago and there would be riots if I didn't fill it with chocolate coins and Lindt Santas. One for each DC.

Welcome Chicken and congratulations Anita - my DS is a January baby. I have a video of me bouncing on a birthing ball on Christmas evening. The little bugger took another couple of weeks to come though!

MrsMad poor you. Take it easy and rest up.

I've been picking up some stocking fillers - mainly for my DDs. I'm toying with the book of Star Wars origami for DS but to be honest I suspect it would just be a novelty item that wouldn't be used.

It's open day at DS's school tomorrow with outdoor activities. I'm going to be a sweaty mess by lunchtime 😂

Mrsmadevans · 28/06/2019 22:50

Thank you Woolly very kind of you m;dear, l think that SW origami set sounds great but perhaps for me and not your DS Grin am suddenly drawn to origami. for some strange reason Hmm
Have been flicking around the net as you do and found this little gem

I loved it but others may think l am nuts hey ho lol

NoWordForFluffy · 28/06/2019 23:38

Woolly, you may melt tomorrow!

It was the kids' school fair today, and I think that was a touch toasty! My lemon drizzle cake went down a storm (and they charged loads more for it than the donated bought cakes!).

I thought about that origami set for my SiL's stepson. But I wasn't sure either.

I can't see the missing piece either, Emrys.

Snowdog is coming on. I reckon there's 3 more nights to do.

EmrysAtticus · 29/06/2019 07:16

Hope you have a nice time shopping Mrs :)

Swimming lesson and then a trip out with a picnic for us today. Will get the paddling pool filled up too and have a BBQ this evening.

Adding things to my Christmas shopping basket online :)

Mrsmadevans · 29/06/2019 07:25

Emrys that sounds like a lovely day m'dear 😄
Have you been on the Marks sale online done lovely stuff also George has their sale on too 😁

EmrysAtticus · 29/06/2019 15:30

My washing is all done too! Am not used to seeing an empty wash basket 😂

TheWoollybacksWife · 29/06/2019 17:13

I'm back and I didn't melt. We had a lovely picnic in the school grounds and managed to find a shady spot under a tree to watch sports day. The hottest bit was walking back to the car park. I've got a lovely bottle of rose in the fridge that MIL bought me but I'm taxi for DD2 tonight. She's stocktaking at work so I'm on standby to pick her up.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/06/2019 17:15

Our wash basket stays empty for about 30 minutes! It's empty at least once a week though.

That cross stitch arrived today, Emrys. Too many others to do first though. Including correcting Snowdog as the pattern had a colour error. Sigh. I might save that one to do actually in Nov / Dec!

I hope you've had a good day, Mrs.

Evening everyone, phew it has been boiling here 30C Grin
Cooling down a bit now
Went to Mum's after doing her shopping , she was very upset again today, said she feels a nuisance . I said she wasn't a nuisance to anyone except my Dsis and her DH and everyone was a nuisance to them so she wasn't to take it personally. It is true ! Hmm
Anyway came home and collapsed on the sofa in front of the telly Hmm
Glad you had a good time Woolly enjoy that chilled bottle of Rose when your taxi service for DD has finished SmileWine
Fluffy that damn Snowdog kit yah boo sucks never mind Smile
Hope you had a great day by the sea today Smile
Am so tired, it is the early morning waking from the pain and needing to take tablets again and the heat . Have a lovely evening everyone Smile

sideorderofchips · 29/06/2019 18:35

Afternoon all

I’m down to one child at the moment as the other two are on scout camp

I now remember how easy one is!!!

Planning main presents for this year

CrazyBaubles · 29/06/2019 18:50

I've just woken up from a long and unplanned nap Blush The heat is going to be the end of me, I still feel rubbish and had a pre-planned get together with some friends today so went but was worn out and so bloody hot when I got home I sat in front of a fan and nodded off. Opened my eyes an hour and half later. Bugger!

I'm now doing the housework I was meant to do earlier 🙄

Evening!

Crazy, you must've needed the sleep. I hope you can sleep tonight though after that!

Side, how lovely to have some peace!

I hope you get some decent sleep, Mrs. It's hideous not being able to sleep through pain.

Bed now for me!

sideorderofchips · 30/06/2019 12:24

No peace now. Got two very tired and irritable girls back!!

So we are chilling watching the emoji movie

Last day of June so officially the first half of the year out ,

No Christmas planning at the moment but I did see a jumper I liked though I resisted . (DD was giving me The Look) . My jumper buying starts in September and I need to remind myself that only fine knit , non-boxy ones are allowed now .
Same look she gave me when I bought a bargainous jacket in H&M . Black+white . I can wear with blacking jeggings, boots and jumper and look quite stylish (I reckon) .

We had temperatures of 31 according to my car . DD and I went out early yesterday morning , got home before it was too busy .

Our cats are still indoors so hanging out washing involves locking them in one room then making sure everything is secure before they roam again.
DH was clearing the garden, plan for a skip next week then they can go on adventures.

They will not escape the Traditional Christmas Photos either . The guinea-pigs did it for years in exchange for the Christmas veg trimmings.
The cats will be less than thrilled ...we are vegetarian except DS. The cats might get some of DS chicken if they're good.

CrazyBaubles · 30/06/2019 15:09

I surprisingly managed to sleep very well after my nap!

No real Christmas planning here either. We have had a tree surgeon here removing a tree that was blocking light into our 'posh' front room ie DHs office that has been used as a store room for ages
It is amazingly light in there now so I did briefly mention to DH that I may put a Christmas tree in the bay window just because I've always wanted and there was never any point before because you couldn't see in or out.

Having looked at the garden again, I'm wondering what to do with one plant. I have no idea what it is but it's getting quite tall. I'm just about to post The pic in the gardening section here but if anyone knows what it is, can you let me know please? I'm completely rubbish at all things garden related...

Also, considering using 2 giant wooden plant pots we have - lavender in one and rosemary in the other. Is that silly? Will they grow in pots? Or could I actually grow something we could eat? I'll post a pic of the pots, if anyone green fingered could help me please?

TheWoollybacksWife · 30/06/2019 15:22

I have a rosemary bush in a pot Crazy and we had a lavender in a pot temporarily after we moved until we had the garden landscaped and found a permanent home for it. Both have thrived.

I can't help naming your plant though.

NoWordForFluffy · 30/06/2019 16:39

Pots are fine for lavender and rosemary, Crazy. They'll be amazing. The smell from the small lavender bushes at the allotment is divine. Same for the lavender in the garden.

You could get soft fruit suitable for pots if you want edible stuff.

No idea on the tree either, sorry! It's pretty though! 😁

70, I don't think we've had it that warm. The wind masks it though, doesn't it?

I think you should put a tree in that room, Crazy. Why wouldn't you?! 🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄
