New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

Ooh how exciting I might start buying as and when I can because at the moment my son is obsessed with hulk and iron man and they are reduced a lot in Argos, my daughter loves Lol dolls so I'll get some of them. Now they are at that age of seeing adverts and wanting everything of there too so I expect the list this year will be huge Shock. I won't buy everything though off it, I made the mistake last year of spending nearly 1000 on presents and it was just far to much stuff. X

Mrsmadevans · 22/06/2019 17:30

Afternoon all Smile

Woolly cinema passes sound a great idea l will consider those for my Neice and her family Grin have a lovely BBQ later [smile

EmrysAtticus · 22/06/2019 20:41

Hope everyone has had a lovely day in the sun. We decided to ditch gymnastics and set up the paddling pool instead and then have a BBQ :)

NoWordForFluffy · 22/06/2019 21:39

Good news re the meter, Mrs. It's the least they can do.

We had a lovely day today and a chippy dinner tonight.

I've had to decorate DD's cake this evening, as she's 6 tomorrow. God knows where time has gone!

Balloons are inflated and presents wrapped, so we're good to go now. 😁

Morning!

It's DD's birthday today. 😁 I'm sitting watching her build Lego with DS. Calm before the storm!

What she doesn't know yet it that there will be a bunk bed waiting for her when she gets back from the cinema (Toy Story 4) later.

We're having birthday dinner at Pizza Express this afternoon too. I hope she'll be happy with everything!

Fluffy Happy Birthday to your girl! I hope she has the best day, it sounds like you’re going to make it amazing. I’d have loved bunk beds at that time.

VivaJen · 23/06/2019 10:28

Hi Everyone

Happy birthday to your DD @NoWordForFluffy Cake. Hope you all have an awesome day.

@anitagreen I keep an eye out during the year but have a separate savings account to build up funds for any November shopping when I tend to get the family Secret Santa gifts, DH's work gifts, and whatever DH has decided he wants (he is useless at making his mind up & it changes about 5 times before December)

Our friends came round for dinner during the week and one of my friends love Christmas as much as I do so I made her a Candy Cane gin, garnished with an actual candy cane! She loved it! Xmas Grin

@TheWoollybacksWife you have just let me score a gift off my list! I'm going to get our 2 friend's DC cinema passes for Christmas! We don't see them that often so I never know what toys they are into. Can't believe I never thought of that before!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/06/2019 10:40

Happy Birthday FluffyDD

I was shopping with DS ( in New Look) , he saw some Christmas Jumpers in the sale rail. I Managed to exit the shop without one Xmas Grin .

DS wouldn't wear a Christmas Jumper anyway. I had to put his unworn grey snowman shirt into the charity shop ( still with tags on )as he'd grown too tall for it .

NerosFiddle · 23/06/2019 11:03

Happy birthday to your dd Fluffy. I love the numberblocks cake.

I normally have all my presents bought and wrapped by September but it's been a lot later this past couple of years. DD's birthday is 18th December so I try to spread out the presents.

CrazyBaubles · 23/06/2019 12:00

Hi 👋Life has been madly busy and as this thread isn't on my 'threads I'm on' list I haven't posted.

Happy Birthday to your DD Fluffy

Anita I keep a note of things people have mentioned in my phone and start properly looking in August. I put a lot of things into baskets on websites and update them every so often then I use a bonus I get paid every October to buy things.
I tend to go more for experience gifts now if I can (tickets are always appreciated). I also make some gifts (crochet) and my dad gets a hamper every year (at his request). I try and fill it with quite obscure things he won't have tried before with some beers and a fun thing or 2 aswell (last year there was a chilli chocolate challenge which was funny).
My overall aim is to have bought everything except the fruit for the hamper by the end of November then I have a 'wrapping night' in the first week or 2 of December. I always make sure it's when DH is out. I watch Christmas films with light fairy lights on, drink rum and wrap everything.

Plan for today it painting unfortunately. I am up-cycling a piece of furniture but I hate painting so it's a complete chore.
Apart from that I'm not leaving the house as I've caught an awful dry, tickling cough and feel rubbish.

Mrsmadevans · 23/06/2019 15:18

Happy Birthday to your darling daughter Fluffy , have a wonderful birthday treat with her , Well done with the cake it looks gorgeous you clever girl you . Cake Flowers Star
Crazy hope you feel better my dear , it may be the stripping and painting from the furniture do you think? Hope so m'dear Flowers

EmrysAtticus · 23/06/2019 15:35

Happy birthday fluffy's DD! We have had a lovely day of wandering round Comeston Lakes and Penarth and then splashing around in Cardiff International Pool :)

anitagreen · 23/06/2019 17:23

@CrazyBaubles I love that! What good ideas I'm also going to copy the wrapping night if that's okay and do what you've done what a nice tradition x

@VivaJen Oh my god sound so nice I'd love that I love candy canes too how Christmassy. I need to open a new account too so may do that for Christmas savings. X

anitagreen · 23/06/2019 17:24

@NoWordForFluffy Happy Birthday to your DD x

CishAndFips · 23/06/2019 17:38

Evening all. Ive been awol for a while as its all been full on. House is all finished and decorated now, a few finishing touches needed but overall its like a new home. Weve just returned from a last minute break at my aunties caravan celebrating my birthday. I hope everyone is well and sorry if ive missed anything.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/06/2019 19:50

Evening!

Both children are asleep - and were just after 7pm - in DD's new bunk bed! 😂 We shall see how well that lasts before some kind of disaster strikes.

I think she's had a good day - she's very matter-of-fact, so sometimes it can be hard to tell. 😁

The cake went down well, thankfully. DS isn't keen on chocolate cake, so is looking forward to his birthday. 😂

I had a quick dash to the allotment while they were at the cinema, then came back in time to make the bunk bed with the new bedding and vacuum the car (when the seats were taken out to get to the cinema, the crumb situation was 🤮🤮🤮).

Then we had the usual Pizza Express meal, which DD has to have. 🍕

I'm now watching the F1 highlights before having an early night. I'm zonked.

Crazy, I hope you feel better soon.

Cish, well done you on sorting your house so efficiently!

Morning!

Hi laury, I've not seen you in AGES! I hope you're well! Happy birthday to your DC.

DS lasted until midnight in the bunk bed, at which point he ran out of water which woke him up as he was thirsty and he then wanted his own bed again! So I'm not sure his experiment worked.

It chucked it down overnight, but is meant to be dry today. I've put two loads of washing on the line before breakfast, so it'll hopefully dry.

CrazyBaubles · 24/06/2019 11:05

MrsMad Thank you. I've just realised they're in the process of sorting out the water leak for your mum. Hopefully it'll be done soon 🤞

Anita you're more than welcome to copy my wrapping night. I've done it since I was a teenager (when my mum used to slip me some £ to wrap presents for her). I love it although I sometimes split it into 2 nights now as we have so many people to buy for and it buys me 2 nights of rum drinking because DH hates wrapping presents Xmas Grin

laury Welcome back and happy birthday to your DD.

Fluffy I'm glad the birthday plans were a success. Me and dsis would have loved bunk beds at that age - we often jumped in with each other. I'm not quite sure why, I think we both thought the other had a better bedroom 🙄

I have dragged myself in to work despite having no voice today. Means I've been super productive so far though 👍🏻

Have also been inspired to sit and think about any gifts I may need to make for Christmas this year, especially as were on a long holiday this summer which is my peak crocheting time and away for Christmas so things need to be done early...

Mrsmadevans · 24/06/2019 14:32

Rudolph day tomorrow has anyone thought of doing anything?
Glad your DC had a great day Fluffy, l thought the cake looked gorgeous Smile
Have put 2 loads out on the line like you , so am hoping they dry Hmm Grin
Crazy, hope you voice returneth m'dear Flowers
Mum not well this morning she fell last week and hurt her arm so have given her a Valium , to relax the muscles and pain killers for it. She was feeling better by the time we came home thankfully . DH sorted her DVD player out and she can now watch them easily. Left her watching Miss Saigon , tissues at the ready lol.
Welcome back Loo , happy birthday to your DD Smile

Mrsmadevans · 24/06/2019 14:33

Cish hope you had a lovely break away Smile

anitagreen · 24/06/2019 16:40

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/06/2019 17:19
