New month coincides with the need for a new thread!

The last one kept us going for over 2 months, so let's see how we do this time!

Ooh thank you fluffy :)

NerosFiddle · 26/06/2019 09:26

Morning all.

Very humid here but still overcast. Hoping the sun comes out later on.

Crazy Delia is very easy to watch, so relaxing. I watch Jamie Oliver sometimes because he's on 4OD all year round, but I'm not too fussed in him.

Fluffy I'm coming down with cookbooks. The only one that I haven't got, that I want is Gordon Ramsey.

DickheadChicken · 26/06/2019 11:47

Morning all!

Chips you’re cracking on good with your shopping 🛍. I’ve only managed to get a few big Lego sets and that’s roughly it all...the adults in my life will just be getting some food and drink goodies this year, but I’ll make them into a hamperesque creation and hope it looks a little naice.

Crazy oh dear what’s happened to your voice. It’s a right pain losing your voice, you don’t realise how much you need it. I hope the cross stitching and dog cuddles are making you feel a bit more like yourself.

Fluffy your snow dog 1 is adorable, very realistic. Is snow dog 2 going to be the same or s different pattern?

The weather is cloudy here but it’s meant to be brightening up and scorching this week.

DickheadChicken · 26/06/2019 12:11

Posted too soon!.

Dropped my eldest off to school today and forgot his PE kit so I’m just giving my youngest his lunch then I’ll go and drop that back. We’ll stop off in town on the way back and see if we can have a shop for some Christmas presents. Do you all do the advent calendars with toys and not just chocolate?

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2019 13:57

Snowdog 2 is different.

They're both very cute!

I've given up on hampers as they get stupidly expensive. I'm trying to find other stuff these days!

We have wooden advent calendars, and also a cloth one which is really nice which my mum made. We put dairy free chocolates in the cloth one now we have it (it was the wooden ones before).

fluffy snow dog 2 is adorable. You’re very talented, I don’t have the patience for things like that.
I just find hampers easier as we do all the couples in one and I just pop into Aldi and buy everything cheap.
We’ve only done chocolate advent calendars but I might look into a decent advent calendar with a little present in for the DC.

NerosFiddle · 26/06/2019 15:30

I bought a cheap fabric advent calendar on eBay. Everyday has a note for what we'll be doing that day. It could be going to look at lights or watching Christmas films. Nothing wild or wonderful, but my dc are small and don't understand it really yet.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2019 17:10

Our two argued like buggery over the toy asbestos calendars the one year we did it. Never again! 😂

I like your idea, Nero.

Ooh, went into John Lewis today (again; I seem to go daily!) and got myself a sewing box for my reels of cotton and sewing needles / scissors etc plus a matching bag for all of my cross stitch patterns and palaver! I think they're very cute. 🐶

nero my DC are still fairly young, 5 and 2, but your idea of things to do everyday sounds right up our alley. Did you find it difficult to come up with ideas?

fluffy our two would argue too, it might be best to stick to chocolate😂. You sewing box is very swanky.

DH has gone with his dad to the cinema, so I’m going to get the kids to bed and then watch some Luther. I bought myself some brownies, Pringles and Ben and Jerry’s from the shop and I might treat myself to a glass of wine.

Mrsmadevans · 26/06/2019 18:53

Hey everyone I am currently pregnant and had my 12 week scan today I am very very excited knowing there's a chance albeit a slim chance but a chance this baby could come at Christmas I'm so excited! Anyone have any Christmas children?

anitagreen · 26/06/2019 20:00

@Mrsmadevans good luck tomorrow x

EmrysAtticus · 26/06/2019 20:09

Congratulations Anita :)

Have done some jigsawing and now going to settle down with my Christmas planner to think up some present ideas :)

EmrysAtticus · 26/06/2019 20:18

Oh and my brother got the results of his final exams today and he will be graduating with a first!

anitagreen · 26/06/2019 20:42

@EmrysAtticus thank you! And congratulations to your Brother mines just graduated too x

NerosFiddle · 26/06/2019 20:50

Atticus congrats to your db

Anita congratulations on your pregnancy. My dd will be 2 on 18th Dec, so exactly one week before Christmas.

Mrs good luck with your scan.

Dick I found it easy enough to come up with ideas but I kept it very basic. The only thing set in stone is 1st Dec post letter to Santa and Christmas Eve to do our traditions.

Fluffy your purchases are very cute.

anitagreen · 26/06/2019 21:11

@NerosFiddle what a magical birthday I think December birthdays seem more cosy and exciting I think it's the fairy lights being up and around and the festive feeling. I was born in September never really exciting lol

NoWordForFluffy · 26/06/2019 22:09

Congratulations, Anita!

DH is a 23 Dec birthday and my DSis is 19 Dec. I'm not sure either would have chosen those dates! DH once got a Christmas card with '...and happy birthday!' written in it! 😱

Congratulations to your brother too, Emrys. Brilliant news.

I've been on Snowdog detail again tonight. It's coming on nicely. I do like how fast I can get them done as they're so small!

I ordered that Christmas one, Emrys. Xmas Grin There's no stopping me from buying cross stitches. 😂

Morning!

This is the first morning in a long time which has started bright and sunny. Bodes well for later on! ☀️☀️☀️

Mrs, what's going on with your weather?!?! That's not on at all. I hope it improves.

OP posts:
EmrysAtticus · 27/06/2019 07:01

Mrs it should be improving for us for today. lovely and sunny in Newport this morning and supposed to reach 26/27 degrees tomorrow and Saturday.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/06/2019 07:18

We're off to the beach on Sat. We get there really early to avoid the queues (though it's high tide at 9am, so will aim to arrive at 9.30-ish) and then leave early afternoon.

Then it's BBQ time when we're home. Lovely summer activities!
