Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it [thanks

Has anyone seen any discounted gift cards for Odeon cinema on their travels per chance?

Also looking for some nice diabetic suitable chocolates if anyone knows of any suggestions?

Thanks

Drummingisfun · 09/12/2018 18:25

I personally don't like nespresso - I don't like the coffee they make and I don't like the lack of options for how to make a coffee.
I considered them and tested in the shop then ended up witha delonghi bean to cup.
That's £££££ though.
If I had to get a pod machine I'd get a lavazza one because I like their coffee.

Drummingisfun · 09/12/2018 18:26

Hotel chocolat do a delicious 'less sugar' box but don't know if it's diabetes friendly as it would still have some sugar.

GreenKangaroo · 09/12/2018 18:43

Im sure this has been mentioned back on another thread, but could someone let me know a good place to get DIY hampers that I can fill with food/wine?

Don’t bother just ends up as landfill or charity shop. Use a cardboard box and the money saved will buy another item. You can wrap the box. Less is more.

Still need to buy a Fitbit Versa and an Xbox wireless headset. Looking at camel camel both were cheaper at the end of November, but did I know I needed to buy them then? Course not!

PunkAssMoFo · 09/12/2018 19:02

@MrsGannicus In the past I have used nice felt shoppers to make ‘hampers’ with. I’ve generally bought them from Amazon, but have seen them in home Bargains in the past.

Jfw82 · 09/12/2018 19:07

@IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece try ASDA George for maternity pjs I had some from there over the summer and they were so comfortable

andadietcoke · 09/12/2018 19:10

NaturalBlondeYeahRight pretty much although there's a Bluetooth one so you can make coffee via an app, and one with a built in milk section (latissima). For lattes and cappuccinos you need an aeroccino to froth the milk. Some machines come bundled with them. I drink black coffee and prefer the vertuo as it means you can make a full cup without having to add hot water to an espresso 'shot' with a standard pod. The alto pods fill a large travel thermal mug. You can still get espresso size pods though but there's a lot more flexibility with the cup size and the machines are intelligent so know how much water to add for the pod that's in the machine.

andadietcoke · 09/12/2018 19:11

Oh and yes to non-Nespresso pods. Aldi do some nice ones. You can also get refillable pods that you can put any ground coffee in.

NewDayBlankPage · 09/12/2018 19:20

My sister has asked for a teapot. I don’t use one and have no idea what to look for! Any suggestions? Thanks wonderful bargain hunters!

dancemom · 09/12/2018 19:21

Iceland currently have wicker baskets with cellophane and a red bow ribbon for about £4

Lovemusic33 · 09/12/2018 19:24

Newday I bought my nan a teapot from wittards a few years ago, it’s still going strong, she uses it a lot. They have a few on there website but if you have a shop nearby you might get one cheaper (I didn’t pay a fortune).

Personwithnoname · 09/12/2018 19:33

@yeknom
I'd go for a dark chocolate selection. Many 'diabetic friendly' chocs are full of artificial sweeteners, which can have a laxative effect 😮
@newdayblankpage I got a lovely le cruseut teapot in tkmaxx.

Helpmeltb · 09/12/2018 19:35

@sideorderofchips my Superdrug order said the following on the order confirmation:

At this busy time of the year it can sometimes take us a little longer to get your order to you and we may not send you a dispatch email until 4 or 5 working days after your order confirmation when using our Standard Delivery Service. Due to this, please allow up to 7 working days for your order to reach you.

PurpleTigerLove · 09/12/2018 19:37

The suki tea website have lovely teapots . You can buy a teapot , wooden serving tray and a packet of loose tea for around £35/40

Yeknom · 09/12/2018 19:45

Thank you for the heads up personwithnoname and drummer!!! I'll be sure to look for both - perhaps a dark sugar less box from hotel chocolat!!

Also I'd go with Whittards for teapots 👍

Spam88 · 09/12/2018 19:48

@TittyBoneGhoul I've been holding out for a 4 for £10 like there was last year but it doesn't look like it's going to happen 👎

Jfw82 · 09/12/2018 20:07

@NewDayBlankPage I have a le creuset stoneware teapot. My friend loves so much she treated herself to one, Amazon have for £31.50 (usual price £42) in a choice of colours

Jfw82 · 09/12/2018 20:09

PunkAssMoFo · 09/12/2018 21:01

A question for those who got the nails inc crackers (waiting for mine to arrive)... can you peek inside to see what colour each one is? Or would that damage the packaging?

totallyLosingIt · 09/12/2018 21:37

I'm sure someone was looking for LOL emblazoned "stuff" so thought I would share a pic of the selection at The Range today.

I've got a Boden £10 off £40 code if anyone wants to buy anything in the next couple of hours.

PhannyMcNee · 09/12/2018 21:57

I didn’t watch so only read about them on here - the laser nerf guns - we are doing Christmas in Jan with my 4 dc aged 17-9 and nieces aged 11 & 9. Wondering whether to get them all one to play with? Are they too old or are they perfect ages?

PhannyMcNee · 09/12/2018 21:58

Didn’t watch the Pip Schofield gift telly show thing I meant.
