Okay so:
Turkey (with bacon)
Pigs in blankets
Stuffing
Sausage meat
Honey roasted parsnips
Roast potatoes
Carrots
Green beans
Cranberry sauce
Yorkshire pudding???

Is that it? I've never made one myself and I'm panicking that I've forgotten something? Also, do you do Yorkshire pudding for Christmas? What do you eat the rest of the day? Help!

Sprouts!

You don’t need sausagemeat, just get paxo

CrispbuttyNo1 · 26/11/2018 21:42

I would do Yorkshire’s, but you don’t have them traditionally.

We have a bowl of bread sauce too.

Torsz · 26/11/2018 21:43

Gravy!!!!

Crystalblue13 · 26/11/2018 21:43

Mmm making me hungry!
We always have:
Turkey
Pigs in blankets
Sausage meat stuffing
Roast potatoes
Roast parsnips
Carrots
Sprouts
Cauliflower cheese
Gravy

CrispbuttyNo1 · 26/11/2018 21:43

We eat at about 3 pm (big brekkie about 10am) then just pick at leftovers, cheese, crackers etc in the evening.

Torsz · 26/11/2018 21:43

Ps we do Yorkshire's, just because every roast dinner is better with Yorkshire's ☺️

Xmasfairy86 · 26/11/2018 21:44

Sprouts!
We have cauliflower cheese, and swede plus most of what you’ve mentioned!
And gravy
And bread sauce
and mint sauce

Coldhandscoldheart · 26/11/2018 21:44

Definitely sprouts, and you don’t eat anything the rest of the day because you’re growing and full.
Maybe pick at a cracker and a bit of cheese.

dontticklethetoad · 26/11/2018 21:44

Everything you have, plus
Yorkshire puddings.
Sprouts.
Some other green veg. Probably broccoli.

Soiree · 26/11/2018 21:44

You eat chocolate for the next 24 hours.

You need sprouts, whether you like them or not! I'm also doing peas, gravy, and cauliflower cheese. Ooh and roast red onions, yum.

Disfordarkchocolate · 26/11/2018 21:45

Sounds lovely. Doing Yorkshire's this year too. Make/buy a proper gravy too and you're sorted. We buy cauliflower cheese, it's a favourite.

EdWinchester · 26/11/2018 21:45

Disagree. Paxo will be like school dinners.

dontticklethetoad · 26/11/2018 21:47

Oh yes! Cauliflower cheese and swede!

Drunkandstupidagain · 26/11/2018 21:47

We have all of the above with ham too - I don’t know if this is an Irish thing? But a Christmas dinner is turkey, ham and stuffing here I literally don’t know one person who doesn’t have that. In my family we have roast beef too but know this isn’t traditional

thismeansnothing · 26/11/2018 21:47

For us it's

Chicken,
Roast potatoes,
Pigs in blankets,
cake-on (nigellas gingerbread stuffing to anyone else),
Honey roast parsnips and carrots,
Braised red cabbage,
Sprouts parboiled and fried with garlic and bacon,
Gravy.

chequeplease · 26/11/2018 21:49

Christmassy red cabbage, sprouts and cauliflower cheese. And loads of gravy!!

MissPatty · 26/11/2018 21:49

Spiced braised red cabbage

Annandale · 26/11/2018 21:50

Definitely bread sauce, gravy, sprouts. You're going to need a log of jugs.

Don't forget the brandy butter.

CrispbuttyNo1 · 26/11/2018 21:50

I agree Ed, but I’m trying to think of making it easier for a xmas dinner virgin 😂.

I would suggest buying the sausagemeat stuffing readymade though.
