Christmas friends, I can't wait any longer...I am putting them up. I have mulled wine, carols on and a mince pie. DH is putting the outside lights up just irritate the bah humbug neighbour next door.

There are some people who clutch their pearls about the decorations going up so early but mostly people are too busy getting on with their life to care about my tree!
I've just had a extra special Sunday dinner (with crackers) and we are about to watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation with the kids.
I'm enjoying the ambiance and your kind comments.

Why? I don’t understand grown adults who get so excited about Christmas

The build up, the excitement carried on from childhood. The excitement of seeing DC. The atmosphere, the lights, the parties, the food, friends. That's just a few reasons. But I reckon you know that .

Mine are all up bar the tree. Have to brave the shed tomorrow to get it, but it shouldn't be too hard.

Ours will be going up around the 25th of November but fair play to you OP getting into the festivities, enjoy it!

Well done op. My intention was also to start putting our decorations up yesterday but a big Sunday dinner and a bottle of wine scuppered it 😂

I am going into the loft today and getting started because we have a LOT of Xmas stuff.

Have agreed with DH to wait until after Remembrance Day, but really looking forward to decorating with 3yo DD.
She's a girl after my heart, her favourite rainy day activity right now is a trip to the decoration section of our local garden centre

Due to a very cheeky cat my decorations are limited this year and we will be waiting until December.

There’s a house near us that really go to town for every celebration - their house was fully decorated for Halloween this week, and then I drove past yesterday and they’ve got all their decorations up for Christmas! It made me smile.
