I love how angry people get over people decorating THEIR OWN HOME before they think is acceptable!! Grin

Mine don't go up for another 2 weeks but all for people putting their decs up whenever they want to!

Merry Christmas!!

ineedwine99 · 11/11/2018 16:23

Little jealous, mine go up first weekend of Dec. Excited!! Love my decorations

WheelchairWoes · 11/11/2018 16:31

therunecaster your tree makes me so happy! I can't wait to see more! I know I made my own post but here's my little vintage tree forest so far. I say so far because anytime I'm in the thrift stores I'm on the hunt for more haha. I'd love to find some more trees

I've changed my fake bright yellow flowers to deep red ones with berries and snowy pine cones and put a Christmas tree candle and 3 wick red one that says "its begrudging to smell a lot like Christmas" But that's all I'm allowed to do until December! DH has put his foot down Shock

WheelchairWoes · 11/11/2018 16:35

ineedwine99 Your tree is gorgeous! Do you add to it every year or just keep the ornaments the same?

pouraglasshalffull · 11/11/2018 16:35

Beginning * not begrudging! hahaha

WheelchairWoes · 11/11/2018 16:41

pouraglasshalffull ooooh good way to sneak some Christmas in. My husband usually has that rule. He will NOT let me decorate until Thanksgiving. But we've had such a hard yer that this year he's like 'I don't care when you put stuff up' LOL

Therunecaster · 11/11/2018 16:50

The recreational outrage of some of the posters does make me wonder! Anyone would think they thought they were on the AIBU section...Grin

I've added some red lights to the tree today.

Do you want a new photo???[santa]

Will you leave them up until the 'official' date of 5th December? If so fair game, but that's 8 WEEKS! What I don't understand is when people put them up in November and then take them down really early because they are fed up of them.

WheelchairWoes · 11/11/2018 16:58

Therunecaster yes new photos!!

slappinthebass Mine stay up from the 15th of November to January 15th. My kids birthdays are both in January and they want trees for their birthdays lol

GreyGardens88 · 11/11/2018 17:01

I love christmas but I think it ruins the magic putting up decs so early, gotta wait til december at least!

NoWordForFluffy · 11/11/2018 17:08

^ This!

And thereby proving the scientists' theory in @WheelchairWoes' post! Xmas Grin

When I was in my first house I put the tree up about now. These days, as much as I love Christmas, it means moving the lounge about, as well as some toy storage, so it's Dec 1st, or the nearest Sat to that.

I love Christmas and can't wait to get the house decorated!

ineedwine99 · 11/11/2018 17:10

Thanks @WheelchairWoes, i was adding to it every year for 5 years but haven't felt the need for a couple of years now. Always seeing what new decs are out though Grin
Want a second tree to do a blue/silver theme

sprinkleofsunshine · 11/11/2018 17:13

I'm thinking of putting mine up the first weekend of dec which is early for me but I am just about to watch something on Xmas 24 whilst dinner is cooking.

I've started shopping too and getting bits together. I like to spread it out so it lasts a while. I do get a bit fed up of the tree after a while though so couldn't have it up any earlier.

WheelchairWoes · 11/11/2018 17:13

@NoWordforFluffy I totally get not wanting to put stuff up because of rearranging! Thankfully this new house we bought in august? We have a location for TWO trees with no rearranging! LOL

@ineedwine99 We add to our family tree every year. My kids get an ornament for every year they are alive lol. 15 ornaments for one and 13 for the other so far

Gingerivy · 11/11/2018 17:34

WWoes Thanks. Our tree really is a mishmash of decorations we've amassed over the years. There are some from the 80s all the way up to the present. I had an ornament from when I was a child but it broke a few years ago.

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 15/11/2018 17:46

Where are the new photos? I’ve got 2 weeks until mine goes up, so need my Christmas tree fix here!

Getoffthetableplease · 15/11/2018 17:56

Aww lovely! Still a bit early for me, I usually see our village lights and tree switch on and want to come home and do ours - the last weekend of Nov. I do like to have everything down by about 27th December though, as it's not Christmas to me then. I can't even watch Christmas films or anything after the 25th, feels so wrong, ha! Nice to have a clutter free house for the new year Smile

Therunecaster · 02/11/2019 17:30

Getting the tree out of the box... will be putting it up tomorrow [santa]

Grin can I come and help? I'll bring copious amounts of mulled wine

MissMarpletheMurderer · 02/11/2019 18:11

This just made my evening. We are starting on festive films tonight as it's the only way to get through them all.

Goldenphoenix · 02/11/2019 18:15

Enjoy yourself Runecaster! Each to their own I say

mogloveseggs · 02/11/2019 18:23

I'd love to but then I'd have to dust the tree Shock
Might start with some fairy lights in the front room to light up the dark nights
