Jack jones sale section has some nice jumpers. Just sorted a couple for hubby & brother got 5 items for £75. Not bad going

StrumpersPlunkett · 17/11/2018 11:35

Just seen a link to this on fb.
Have ordered some bits for dh.
No idea on anything to do with service or quality but ordering was straightforward.
looks nice

StrumpersPlunkett · 17/11/2018 13:16

Am looking for ideas for a weekend away for DH.
He had a cookery weekend in Devon on his own for his 40th and he still talks about how he loved being totally himself and free of responsibilities for 48 hours.
I think I would like to do something like that again.
He is a keen cook, geocacher, walker.
He loves the outdoors.
any ideas gratefully received

I think I'm getting my DH a new iPad mini as his is about 6 years old and running super slow now. I would also like to book us a night away to get a break, if I can get a sitter.

I always make him up a stocking with socks, pants, shower set, dvd and a to let one. Grin

Following this thread.
My husband is the worst to shop for. He doesn't read, play Xbox/ playstation, doesn't have any hobbies. He doesn't drink much. We got a case of beer in during half term and there are still a few cans left. He doesn't smoke anymore. Just vapes.
He loves has a real sweet tooth but has given up sweet treats after a horrible case of toothache.
My ideas are, a pair of trainers, though at £100 may not be doable, one of them bath shelf things that sit over the bath . Bubble bath, t-shirts, and a tank for his vape. Nothing fun, or that he would get excited over.

anyoldname76 · 17/11/2018 22:13

my dh is having a game for the xbox, rocky balboa canvas and an external hard drive, some pjs and slippers off the children. his birthday is Christmas eve and ive ordered him an ancestry dna kit.

StrumpersPlunkett · 17/11/2018 22:20

@minorprophet wow. That is now what I want for Christmas.

BeBesideTheSea · 17/11/2018 22:33

A new large TV (arrived today 😂) and a rheoscopic fluid ‘planet’ to be wrapped under the tree. Parents will buy him books - sports biographies usually

SheWoreBlueVelvet · 17/11/2018 22:43

Saymaname if 6 nations tickets are too much how about the Premiership Final? Twickenham is always full or near enough and the atmosphere is great and you get fans from all teams turn up whosever in it It's on June 1st this year.
Alternatively the day after England play the Ba Ba ( team selected from Rest of the World. Not as busy but a great chance to see England play. And the Vornish pirates have a game first so there's lots of good natured rugby for your money.

craftymadam · 17/11/2018 22:43

Where did you get the rheoscopic plsnet from BeBesideTheSea? They look really cool Smile

SheSparkles · 17/11/2018 22:55

Dh’s work backpack is on its last legs so I’m toying with brining him into the 21st century with a messenger bag, TK Maxx is my target for that. He’s also actually desperately needing socks and pjs, again TKMaxx for the socks as they usually have some lovely bamboo ones. Other than that, latest book by his favourite author (whose name I can’t remember right now) amd a ton of sweeties

PristineCondition · 18/11/2018 11:16

Thank you to cheeseandcrackers just got dp some tickets for june fir him and the kidsStar

Also got him a lego ship in a bottle
Grumpy (the dwarf) blanket
Lightsaber (he's 39)
And some sweets

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 18/11/2018 11:56

I've just scrolled back and I'm definitely getting dh the pants subscription (great idea) and the bakewell gin.

Thanks for the ideas.

Cornwall73 · 18/11/2018 14:26

SheSparkles I’m on the look out for a replacement bag too. Has to be a ruck sack though as he carries so much around on his travels. His lap top ruck sack is too padded and he just needs a padded pocket for his Surface but space enough for documents.
Will try out TK Maxx

fourquenelles · 18/11/2018 14:47

Ancient DF Green and Blacks taster box and 6 linen handkerchiefs
Gentleman caller (we have an agreed mutual £20 max budget) G&B taster box and This as he's in to photography

BeBesideTheSea · 18/11/2018 16:05

@craftymadame It is from Firebox.

Flooffloof · 18/11/2018 16:54

So a pp mentioned a lordship, quite liked the idea but DH already has one apparently. Sigh this gets more difficult every year.
He owns a leatherman, all the tools he ever wanted, bought him a wallet ninja last year, he bought himself a new camera for his birthday last year. He is diabetic.
He will get a beanie hat with a headlight thingy in it as soon as they are back in stock. All out of new ideas.

ohtheholidays · 19/11/2018 02:26

So far I've bought my DH some new clothes(jeans,t-shirts,a couple of jumpers and a shirt)2 pairs of shoes,a couple of bits from the football team he supports and some pj's.

I still need to get him some underwear and all of the bits for his stocking and I have no idea what else to get him.

For our oldest DS22 so far we've got him 2 new pairs of boots(I pair are dark blue suede and he is going to love them)some clothes and pj's,some aftershave, some bits for his new place,a chess set and a really nice wooden pen and calligraphy set and a new phone.

DS20 some pj's,underwear and aftershave we still have tons to buy for him and he's very hard to buy for.

DS16 so far we've got him some t-shirts,pj's and some grooming bits and pieces, were going to pick him up some bits for his gaming and maybe a new phone and then I still have lots to sort for him as well.

itseasierstill · 19/11/2018 03:19

Oh this is brilliant !
DH has a birthday in 6 days,
For that he's getting Paul Smith shoes and scarf, digital scales, packing cubes, cheese and onion walkers (ex pats)

For Christmas a watch, trying to decide on brand, Paul smith t, Bose charging dock, maybe some happy feet socks, walk and talk, stuck on stocking bits and mum and sister have pinched all my toiletries ideas ☹️

MinorProphet · 19/11/2018 07:07

itseasier what is a walk and talk?

AdoraBell · 19/11/2018 21:18

I’ve bought DH a calendar from Royal British Legion, classic cars. He’s a petrol head to the core.

itseasierstill · 19/11/2018 22:15

@MinorProphet it's basically a long charging cable for iPhone etc.
