Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Thanks for the lego dimensions at smyths. I got 3 to be delivered and 1 I have to pick up in store. Lots already out of stock though, and several showing in stock in my local store but wouldn't let me do click and collect on them!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 12/09/2018 16:20

ihope they used to do a busy book of toy story dd1 had one we bought at a car boot. Worth keeping an eye out second hand or on eBay :)

We also used to have Disney figures from the Disney store and imaginext used to do a few sets.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 12/09/2018 16:22

I popped into our local Wilkos this afternoon and noticed that they're changing over the seasonal shelves from garden stuff to Halloween and Christmas which means the garden stuff is all being reduced - it might be worth a visit if you want to buy any garden related items for anyone.

All I bought were a couple of lovely indoor plant pots for 50p each for 18yo DD's stocking as they'll be ideal for her ever increasing collection of mini cacti !

imsorryiasked · 12/09/2018 16:28

Tkmaxx had busy books in store a couple of weeks ago.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 12/09/2018 16:31

@IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece toys for a pound had toy story blind bags if that's helpful.

buckeejit · 12/09/2018 16:36

Iwish - just ordered all your book reds & a few more from the book people. Ds is obsessed with Greek mythology having recently finished the Prcy Jackson & Olympians books. If anyone sees the next set on a good offer, please holler!

SomethingOfTheNight · 12/09/2018 16:40

Thanks for the cushions panda. Perfect for my MIL Wink

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 12/09/2018 17:28

Bloody hell, you lot are ace! Thank you!

Jessica78 · 12/09/2018 18:09

I'm loath to be the one raising this, but if you are posting links via a skimming site (presumably you know if you are doing this) so that you earn a little each time one of us clicks / buys from the link you've posted - could you just say? Maybe it's just my problem but I'm finding it annoying that I click on something and it goes via skimresources?

If no one else is bothered I'll shut up!

DillieDoily · 12/09/2018 18:28

How do you know if a link is one of the skimming ones? I have zero clue about these things. And is it possible to post a link like that by mistake (e.g. if you've copied it from somewhere else) or would it always be deliberate?

DillieDoily · 12/09/2018 18:30

Can anyone help me find a Beast Boy cuddly toy (from Teen Titans Go) at a reasonable price?

Singingitoverandoverandover · 12/09/2018 18:47

Some good reductions on Lego at Smyths. Lego technic and superheroes and Disney girls stuff smyths

TalkingOrmer · 12/09/2018 18:56

Jessica I think this has come up in previous years too. I thought the outcome was that it's actually MNHQ add the skim resources when we click on a link.

I could be wrong though.

thaegumathteth · 12/09/2018 19:07

@TalkingOrmer yes that’s correct

WhirlwindHugs · 12/09/2018 19:26

Why doesn't it come up on all the links then?

Unihorn · 12/09/2018 19:30

I assumed it was from the websites that MN often posts articles about eg. Smiggle, BrandAlley etc.

TacoFriday · 12/09/2018 19:30

It does, it’s just fast.

Reastie · 12/09/2018 19:40

I don’t think this skimming links malarkey (which I never quite understood but now sort of do) seems in the spirit of the thread and I’m presuming everyone aside from those posting these links agrees (??) so if we couod avoid posting these types of links I think it would be welcomed all round.

Another thanks to @panda for the cushion link!

NoWordForFluffy · 12/09/2018 19:52

I don’t think everyone is technically-minded, so some people might not realise it’s a skimming link.

whereisthatpenguinfrom · 12/09/2018 20:03

Looking for a good price for a full set of Roald Dahl books.

I have found a great price for the full set in CD form here if anyone else is interested: audio set

SimplyPut · 12/09/2018 20:09

whereisthat I got DD's from the book people for £20 a few years ago. Phenomenal value for so many books.

CaveMum · 12/09/2018 20:11

Book People have extended their sale with up to 88% off until midnight tonight.

Salmonpinkcords · 12/09/2018 20:17

What is a skimming link Confused ?
