Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Poundland has great stuff today. Got a lot of DVDs and books, they had large hardback storybooks and different Lego ones, deadly 60 ones etc.
I also got the Winnie the Pooh ribbon and tags that someone posted (thanks!) will do with brown paper at xmas 😊
They also had playmobil blind figure bags . For a pound.. which is very cheap!

itsonlysubterfuge · 21/08/2018 15:47

Monkeymonstermum They had the watch at Costco for £35 today.

My Pact coffee order came today. Very good value with the free gift and will make a nice gift for my bil as part of his Christmas present. Very easy to cancel as well.

Hello I’ve joined the threads after just following last year!

Great in-store deals in Asda today. Wooden carry along princess castle £3 from £12. Also play doh dentist drill and fill set for just £4.25. Paw patrol too trumps 88p. There was lots there, I was lucky they were just putting the clearance trolley out for display.

We bought the den building kit from the works last year for £10. My ds loves it, we got it as a 2nd set as I had originally purchased one from the book people for £11. Having 2 enables us to make larger dens and also some of our poles broke in the first set.

Singingitoverandoverandover · 21/08/2018 16:40

Ewock is it quite sturdy? Or only for younger kids?

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 21/08/2018 16:45

My local pound shop didn't have any playmobil blind bags :(
But on a happier note my first gap order arrived today! Hurrah! I ordered last Tuesday. My second order was placed on Thursday so hoping that comes in a few days.

Ewock · 21/08/2018 17:07

It is pretty sturdy. You need to push the poles into the connectors holding near the end of the pole. If you hold near the middle, as my dh did, then they bend and can snap. We have an old double sheet that we use for the cover to make a roof etc and it holds that with no problem. We've had the 1st set for nearly 3 years and the 2nd set a year they've been used plently and the only damage was from my dh putting then together!!

Monkeymonstermum · 21/08/2018 17:22

@itsonlysubterfuge thanks - unfortunately we’re not members any more....so would prob cost more to rejoin! I’ll keep a look out though and maybe ask any friends if they’re going. It’s for October...

PamelaEwing · 21/08/2018 17:23

Hype online currently has some rucksacks half price at £12.99 with a free pencil case and also tshirts for £8.99 and up, as well as hats and flip flops! Free worldwide shipping too!

FairIsleQueen · 21/08/2018 18:17

I am very grateful for the Toysforapound link as I live in a Scottish Island and there are no pound shops here. Just Tesco and Coop.

LexieLulu · 21/08/2018 18:43

Order my DS this book which seems good for £5. I don't really know how to do nice links sorry https://www.amazon.co.uk/Usborne-Childrens-Picture-Atlas/dp/0746047134/ref=mpssa1120?ie=UTF8&qid=1534864202&sr=8-20&pi=ACSX2366SY340QL65&keywords=childrens+globe

My best bargains from toysforapoun d were Avengers backpacks and Star Wars umbrellas

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 21/08/2018 19:14

In wilko today one near Nottingham Ikea yep took my once in a 5yr trip there today! The fake Lego was reduced got some £2 sets down to 50p and £6 set down to £2. Now ds1 is a pure Lego snob and hates all non branded Lego (spoilt first child) however my sister's 4 kids love any of the non branded ones.

Good for bday presents especially for little ones where you get invites for kids parties you didn't even know existed.

Youvegotafriendinme · 21/08/2018 19:21

Had an email from Argos with early January sale. Just got DS duplo set for £8. Showing between £14.99-£24 online. Lots on their and some really good prices

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 21/08/2018 19:25

Pastasaucehoarder I have a load of that's not my books I need to pop on gum tree or the like but would be happy to do a deal with you and post (hopes that's allowed and not breaking any rules).

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 21/08/2018 19:29

Someone asked earlier about Happyland discounts - just got an email about an ELC sale, some Happyland is probably included in that

Smellybears · 21/08/2018 19:33

@Youvegotafriendinme have you a link please? I’m trying to pick up duplo in the sale for sons first Christmas and birthday Grin

torthecatlady · 21/08/2018 19:58

Had a few bits in my basket at toys for a pound for a few days, finally made the plunge and ordered. Starting to feel really Christmassy now! Grin

historyismything · 21/08/2018 20:07

Thank you to whoever posted about the unicorn puppy surprise! I had only ever seen these for over £100 on Amazon!

imsorryiasked · 21/08/2018 20:52

I'm probably late to the game with this but Fingerlings now have Untamed Trex versions. Seem to be £16.99 everywhere and no offers but Argos are stating limited stock so may be worth buying now?
