I bought puff pastry for mt mince pie tart my face was a picture opening the oven this morning.....off to morrisons we go.....

Any cock ups your end yet?

We got DD a dolls house. We have no dolls to put in it.

Wait, what? You can't use puff pastry for mince pie thingys? Oh no...

Cishamdfips- do you have any playmobil or Lego figures? (Supermarkets often have those little blind bags of minifigs if you're near a shop)
Or animals? Or knights? (Not sure how old your children are, sorry)

Only one so far is doing the food shop and half of it defrosting in the car while we went out for a coffee and cake to celebrate the fact we had done the food shop. It's freezing here so I don't know how it happened

We forgot to buy a carrot for Rudolph. Frozen sliced carrots only.

We have no Xmas lunch.

Ham was too big to fit in the slow cooker. Currently wedged in a saucepan on the hob instead. Not a biggie, but annoying.

We were supposed to be going to relatives but it's had to be cancelled at short notice. I've been and bought pizzas and garlic bread from the petrol station.

We have no carrots as I stupidly peeled and mashed carrot and parsnips and froze them all last night

The shops are open today Brizzle, go and get yourself a turkey and the trimmings. Dh has been telling me that the turkeys are massively reduced today but I didn’t have the guts to wait.

If you're fine with pizza, brizzle, then stick with those, but Barbara is right that there's still time to get a turkey and trimmings.

We're hosting tomorrow and have been joyfully not hoovering as we are going to do a big hoover through today.....

Except the hoover isn't working.

And it seems every single card this year has been glittery.

And we've been in and out traipsing foliage and shit all through the house.

And dh's attempt at emptying the hoover has resulted in the contents of the hoover joining the mess on the floor....

I forgot starters were a thing... DH said don't bother and we’re only hosting his family so I might not bother.

Well no pastry in the shops. Am I hell as like making that now, so the best mince pies have been bought along with massive pofilrole gateau!

Can I just remind everyone to defrost whatever they need to defrost ! I almost forgot, which would have made tomorrow’s cooking very difficult.

You could make a mincemeat strudel with the puff pastry - or any other kind of fruit if you've got some in.

Our turkey is too small. I’m going to cook a pork joint as well and hope for the best.

My special 5 hour christmassy terrine (it’s summer here) done in a swanky Christmas tree mold, looks like fancy cat food.

There ain’t enough cherry tomatos or parsley on this planet to make it look edible to my inlaws or any small children.

Perhaps to cats, but I don’t have any.

I’ve misplaced the Christmas pj’s & dh has man flu.

My cat threw up all over my beautifully wrapped presents.

I slipped down the stairs last night (too much prosecco) and now have the most epic bruise on my bum and can’t sit down. Which is lovely! Our nice family Christmas walk is no longer on the cards 😂
