I bought puff pastry for mt mince pie tart my face was a picture opening the oven this morning.....off to morrisons we go.....

I sent DH out to collect three things I ordered from Waitrose - Turkey, giant chocolate cake and giant lemon tart whilst I stayed with DS who has little man flu and is making a big fuss about it.

DH comes back with Turkey and lemon tart saying he gave them the chocolate cake back and told them we didn't order that. I pointed out I did and I had sent him the list of the 3 items so DH returned but out of our timeslot so they had sold it cut price to someone else. Just hope I get the £18 back. He did come back with a smaller chocolate cake.

DM just signing for parcels without checking what's in them to find that her present to DC's did put arrive and the replacement we ordered with guaranteed today delivery won't be her until Wednesday

DS2 has thrown up on me twice today and stopped eating so is definitely coming down with something. I've plied him with Calpol and crossed my fingers.

Wrapped up presents. Have lost one for my niece. Thankfully she's too young to notice, and everyone else has laughed when I've said 'if you unwrap x, it's not for you'

Trashed my car, and no repair shops open

Had a breakdown in tesco where I stood in the onion section and cried because I felt like an utter failure at everything. That's not a Christmas thing though, I've been slipping back into my depresssion for a few months

I just damaged my already broken tooth whilst eating popcorn with the dd’s, I am now in agony and will not be able to get to a dentist for a few days , I hope I can still eat my Christmas dinner.

Rain I'm not sure feet first would be an improvement, they'd take longer to die...

Baby dd has not been herself all day and has just vomited exorcist style. I was feeling smug earlier that we got away with only ds2 having the sick bug and being well for Christmas. Sigh.

The only thing I hadn't bought for tomorrow was a basic Madeira cake for my trifle. Asked DH to pick it in his way home. He brought a giant ICED Madeira cake. Then managed to suggest I remove the icing and use the base! Or bake because there is some time

Thought the title was Christmas cocks up & was briefly excited.

Ha, @weechops we're in the same (vomity) boat. I'm already warned DH that he might be cooking the lunch tomorrow while I comfort poorly Velcro baby. He's in good spirits so far though and as long as our 3 year old has a good time I'll count the day a success.

Cleaned the house from top to bastard bottom only to have Visitor's Cat climb up the chimney and sweep out decades of soot then trample it round the house.

We have no starter as my Mum was supposed to be making soup for us but her cooker broke today and there's nothing in!

I also can't find the table cover, placemats or crackers that I bought last month...

That said we're all here and happy enough so in the grand scheme it really doesn't matter :)

The vienetta got squished in the freezer. Apart from that and the kids being exceptionally loud, all is good. Puff pastry mince pies though, that sounds like a disaster!

I've felt nauseous all day if I am vertical. I just are toast and banana and that didn't last inside me very long. Fortunately I'm at my Dad's with DD, my sister and her children so I don't need to do anything.

I've just dropped the bloody playmobil house dh spent hours putting together He's dealing with it with his usual good natured demeanour

Fridge broken. I have been suspicious for a week or so but only decided it was bad today. Currently have ice blocks in the fridge and have cooked turkey and trimmings today. The turkey is still cooling on the side since this afternoon!

Puff pastry mince pies are the best. I love them!

Dh has man flu. I forgot to buy bread for tonight’s starter, we forgot where we put the stocking fillers and I forgot to put the cherries in my stollen for breakfast tomorrow. Oh and the boiler is on the blink so our hot water is lukewarm at best. All relatively minor but irritating things

Forgot to get any trifle sponges. I went to 3 shops and no one had any.

Also - please don't mix oats with glitter as reindeer food outside. Glitter is plastic and birds will eat it.

Our turkey is too small. By a good way. I'll just have loads of pigs in blankets instead and hope it stretches.

dc2 has face planted and now has a thick lip & bruised face.

Dc1’s bike won’t go together- apparently the bolts are threaded.

Christmas pj’s never did show up.

Aw @QuilliamCakespeare so far mine has only gone once but I’m not feeling hopeful. I have 4yo, 7yo and 11yo too but we’re all supposed to be at the inlaws tomorrow. I can see me having a day st home with pukey baby fingers crossed it’s over quickly!
