I bought puff pastry for mt mince pie tart my face was a picture opening the oven this morning.....off to morrisons we go.....

Dh used the Christmas morning quorn bacon I got the dc, and half the bloody cheese from the boxed cheese selection to make panninis because the fridge is too full to find the proper cheese apparently!!
I have the rage!!

Pastry is the easiest thing to make tho...

Not a cock up as such but DH is ambling trough the day while I'm trying to get everything done, he's gone to fetch Family but won't just go and get them and come back, he'll take a jaunt into town no doubt and decide he simply must get a coffee and then maybe pop into a supermarket etc.
He is incapable of just doing the job he's even given efficiently. 😡

I was feeling all sorted and smug. And then I was putting dd's hair back in a ponytail for the billionth time today and saw a nit. At least I think it was a nit. Checked rest of her and ds's hair and couldn't find anything else, but had to brave the big Tesco to get some nit stuff, so will be doing the whole family before putting on the Christmas pjs.

I also bought a packet of hair dye as I recall last time anyone in the family had nits the spray stuff stripped my hair colour and I'm not going to be witchy grey for Christmas.

So far so good here but it's only the four of us and we've got the food/presents.

Nothing major but dropping cocktail sticks everywhere was annoying, they spread out a long way. Also not enough biscuits for my cheesecake base so I had yo grind up some gingerbread men, they looked disturbing being fed head first into the processor.

Bought new microwave on Tuesday it stopped working today just not heating up. DP thrown away the box and we couldn't find the receipt.

Had planned on warming things up as when tomorrow.

We braved Argos they refunded. So crisis averted so far.

I've bought the same book twice for my Dad. I ordered it from Wordery on an account of dh's. Then forgot I had done it, couldn't find an email confirmation anywhere (because it was dh's account) so joined up to Amazon Prime and ordered again so I could get it for today. In the meantime the Wordery one has turned up so I've got to send one back .

Was just about to board the train home for Christmas when DP realised he'd forgotten all of my Christmas presents- just mine so not too catastrophic as can open them after Christmas when we return home, but he feels awful bless him!

Not a cock up as such, but ds finished school on friday. After his bath Friday night I saw the first spots. Yep it's chicken pox. He's spotty and miserable. Just waiting for dd to get in now too.

Put the oven on to self clean yesterday and now its done it wont unlock. I googled it and no useful suggestions. How to cook a roast lunch for 12 with no oven and less than 24 hrs to go. Arrgg

@stoplickingthetelly my DS got chicken pox on Christmas Eve last year so I feel for you, he still enjoyed the day though despite feeling rubbish! Hope it's not too bad for you x

The Tesco delivery driver who brought me 3 frozen ducks instead of my Christmas goose asked if there was a café nearby. I deduced from that that he needed a wee, and offered our facilities. The loo (which has been dodgy for a while) finally gave up the ghost when he attempted to flush it, leading to me having to call out an emergency plumber, who fixed it at a rather staggering cost this morning.

The fluorescent tube in the kitchen went bang a couple of nights ago, causing the trip switch to go, and the lightbulb in the loo to blow. This would not be so much of an issue if I wasn't housebound, caring for my Dad, but I am - and so will be eternally grateful to my friends who arrived today with new bulbs and a fluorescent tube, and fitted them for me. They also brought me a goose! So - we have had a couple of disasters, but are now back on track for a good Christmas day! Phew!

Please note I remained calm and in good spirits throughout - not quite sure how!

My dd would love pizza and garlic bread for her Christmas dinner.

Nothing gone wrong here yet. Last year the dd’s Had nots Christmas Eve, I had to drive around trying to find nit lotion.
