So we're nearly there now, I'm counting down on one hand the number of sleeps!

Still time to post info on Christmas bargains but I'd also love to hear how the gifts you got went down on the big day and also share notes on sale finds

HAPPY CHRISTMAS,!!!

Seasons greetings one and all Xmas Smile.

Could anyone recommend a good book(s) for my 12yr ds please?

Thanks for all the brilliant bargains and present ideas too.

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 20/12/2017 19:16

Woohoo four days to go! I can't wait!! I've started the wrapping, but the small people here too have been taken down by the bug. Fingers crossed my stomach is steely enough to withstand it. Hoping the vomit is out the way before next week and we wont have a repeat of Christmas day six years ago when it was DD's 1st Christmas and the present she gave everyone was norovirus. So generous!
Can't wait to start wrapping the children's presents, but got to wait until they are fast asleep as they stuck to me like glue when awake.

LetThereBe · 20/12/2017 19:20

Thanks for the reminder RJ. I forgot to get bucks fizz!

HoneyDragon · 20/12/2017 19:22

SomethingOfTheNight

Fiction or non fiction. I’ve purchased Sciene(ish) for ds and that’s probably enjoyable for a twelve year old.

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 20/12/2017 19:30

Anyone know where i can get small boxes like the ones in the santa express film? The ones in card shops arn't right enough. I have a little bell and will make a label. My DD is six and is a total believer and will totally love it

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 20/12/2017 19:30

I mean polar express film!!

LostMyRubySlippers · 20/12/2017 19:47

chickenpie I feel your pain as same has happened here with my DD who has had sickness bug twice since Sat! I have also succumbed today although feeling a little better this eve.. Has meant we have missed out on all the festive things we had planned this week & has put me behind with everything!
Best laid plans & all that!! Just hoping the rest of them don’t get it..

Hope your DS is quickly recovered & all the other DCs who are feeling poorly Flowers

Dancer123456 · 20/12/2017 20:16

Checking in!

I’m done, done done.

Already twitched twice.

Kids now have much needed scooters and Lego!

Just sitting this thread out now until the end. Enjoy everyone x

cookiefiend · 20/12/2017 20:58

ThNks for the story cubes. DD has them, but I bought three sets for the party stash.

If you have some paw patrol fans- 4 jigsaws for £2.50 here

4 x 5 litre bottles of white vinegar (great for cleaning- not strictly Christmas, but still) about half usual price at £6.49 here

Various flavours of absolute vodka £13.50 for 70cl here

I can't see anything using else exciting and cheap

SomethingOfTheNight · 20/12/2017 21:01

Apologies Honey, fiction please. He's not the most enthusiastic reader I'm afraid Hmm He's read and enjoyed all the Tom Gates books, so something similar(ish) if possible.

FlowerTink · 20/12/2017 21:04

Thank you Reastie for all of the threads, this is my first year joining in and it''s been amazing. Like pp I'm all done but sitting in until the end :D

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 20/12/2017 21:15

Helpotron3000 · 20/12/2017 21:30

Finally got my L'Occitane festive hand cream tin and cracker today (issues created by me, not L'Occitane). I took one look at it and decided that I'm keeping it... Hurrah for Christmas!

SideOrderofSprouts · 20/12/2017 21:56

Dunelms sale appears to have started

AFingerofFudge · 20/12/2017 22:31

chocolatepud I got some little boxes identical to the ones in the Polar Express (plus a golden ticket like the one in the film) off eBay last year. Might be too late though now for postage???

Crew Clothing sale is also on...

GinAndSonic · 20/12/2017 22:38

My last Amazon parcel is getting delivered tomorrow. Then on Friday when I get paid it's CDs, DVDs and PJs from town. DS wants Spiderman homecoming, not sure what to get for DD. Something newish. Any bright ideas?

Wenchelda · 20/12/2017 22:42

@chocolatepudandchocolatesauce I got boxes for my polar express bells from Hobbycraft. They are plain strong card so could be wrapped or painted to be exactly like the film ones. £1 each. (There we’re different shapes and sizes)

Givealittlebit · 20/12/2017 23:42

Placemarking - because you never know 😂
I'm all done but popping into town with OH and baby give this weekend (god help me!) to finish his shopping. I'm already scared!

Sister loved her EB mug for her birthday 😊

Wait4nothing · 21/12/2017 06:48

Place marking - though I am officially done!
