So we're nearly there now, I'm counting down on one hand the number of sleeps!

Still time to post info on Christmas bargains but I'd also love to hear how the gifts you got went down on the big day and also share notes on sale finds

HAPPY CHRISTMAS,!!!

firefly my kid wanted to be "Sam-I-Am " (complete with green eggs and ham) 2 years ago. So I made the costume. He wore it , and again last year and if it still fits he can wear it this year too!
(last year his brother was Prince Adam of Eternia - he-man's alter ego. And yes, we do have a couple of books featuring him, so it DOES qualify!

I'm hoping to persuade the younger one to wear one of the many costumes we already have, maybe I can get one more "cat in the hat" in the costume I made 4 years ago and the youngest can be Thing 1 again....

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 11/02/2018 08:52

Definitely firefly. I’ve told dd she will be choosing something from her dressing up and making it work for a book character but I know lots of people dash and buy something for the occasion.

AgnesBrownsCat · 11/02/2018 11:38

I’ve used skeleton costumes and made a hat attached to a headband . Result -funnybones

AgnesBrownsCat · 11/02/2018 11:39

Brown clothes and go as stick man . My daughter did look a bit like a turd though .
The headband with leaves on it and little ladybird I attached to her arm were the only redeeming features 😂

FireflyGirl · 11/02/2018 13:10

Some good ideas for next year, thank you Agnes Grin

FireflyGirl · 11/02/2018 13:52

Amazon have some World Book Day titles for pre-order at £1.00, searching World Book Day 2018 should list them

Shutupanddance1 · 16/02/2018 09:56

I bought my first Christmas gifts for this year today - 3 little baby toys for baby no 2 who will be here in June. Our local shop had some reductions on but couldn’t see anything suitable for DD1 Hmm.

LostMyRubySlippers · 16/02/2018 22:31

Saltrock have some hat & scarf sets reduced to £5. These are then on 3 for 2- this offer includes all accessories & some Tshirts. There is also a code for 20% off - FEB20.
And 6% cashback
Postage is £4 but think this is offset by the other discounts!!

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 17/02/2018 10:15

Agnes that made me Grin

Whistlefish have free delivery over £10 this week end with code WFDEL . They have amazing value greetings cards and the quality is good, I’ve been to their shop in Cornwall and recommend.

I just had the worst dream last night. It was December 23rd and is completely forgotten all about Christmas. We hadn't done advent calendars, elf on the shelf, Christmas jumpers, I hadn't got out my Christmas shoes, no tree, and no presents! And I was having to just go down to smyths toys at 9pm and just pick up what I could. It was the stuff nightmares are made of.

No real point to this post, I just thought you ladies would understand the horror.

OffAdam · 18/02/2018 08:04

Hiya, Just thought I'd give you all a heads up, a playmobil set thats usually £40+ has come down to £13, been tracking it and got an alert from camelcamelcamel. It's a nice sized set. Bought it for my little girl who's 5.

Ducking 😮😢😂

Iwannasnack · 24/02/2018 14:19

Right I’m struggling and I’m hoping you lovely ladies can help.
I’m trying to find a tiny plastic tractor and possibly farm animals to go on top of DS’s birthday cake. Assumed I’d find something on Amazon or eBay but struggling.
We also haven’t really bought him a present as we don’t know what to get. He’ll be 2 but we also have a 4 year old so have all the obvious ride ons, play house, trike, scooter, etc. He’s currently got some books, clothes and additions to our train set. I know he won’t really aware of missing out but feel a bit guilty!

Whatsmymethod · 24/02/2018 16:15

Have you tried the pound shops for small tractor and animals? Some smaller toy shops have 'pocket money' sections and have items like that.

PamelaPatricia · 24/02/2018 19:32

If you do opt for Poundland type toys try www.toysforapound.com

They offer better quality than most pound shops and have £2-5 ranges as well. They charge £2.99 P&P but they delivered quickly and I have been very impressed by them.

AgnesBrownsCat · 25/02/2018 01:59

Siku do a small range of tractors which might be suitable for the top of a cake . I’ll post a pic

AgnesBrownsCat · 25/02/2018 02:03

These are 1:72 scale so quite small but very sturdy and he can play with them afterwards . Siku do farm animals too . My son has a collection of these and when he Was Younge rice they went everything in a zip up lunchbox. Was great for keeping him occupied in restaurants etc

AgnesBrownsCat · 25/02/2018 02:04

AgnesBrownsCat · 25/02/2018 02:05

Went everywhere. Dear lord !
