They are from boden but they are not available yet. You can preorder from
Www.bodenpreview.co.uk though and AP8X gives 20% off

Hi all, i'm a bit late to this thread but enjoying reading about all the xmas plans!!! i'm a Brit but living in the southern hemisphere so am getting all nostalgic hearing about the dark evenings, M&S food etc !! Not quite the same in the sunshine and heat of summer ha ha!

We usually have just the sis/bro in-law for xmas but this year all the in-laws are visiting (so will be 19 of us, 14 adults and 5 kids), sis-in-law is hosting but will be all bring a plate kind of thing so no stress hopefully (famous last words)

Have only just started xmas pressie shopping for DS (9) and DD (6) - but their birthdays are yet to come so feel like i can't quite go xmas mad until after that!!

Wayfarersonbaby · 10/08/2017 00:55

christmasunicorn wow I LOVE the print on the twin pack long johns PJs. But crikey, the prices of Boden these days!! I used to buy loads from them up until about three years ago when they moved all their price points up about 40-50 percent. Now I just can never justify buying from them even with the discount; they are lovely lovely clothes but they have just gone past the point where I think the price is worth it these days. Such a shame, I feel like I'm not their market any more, despite having shopped with them for about 20 years!

The last few years I have got DD some Christmassy pyjamas in the White Co. sale the January beforehand -- I have some nice red and white ones ready for her for this year. (As well as her Christmas Day dress; also from the January Joules sale!) I don't do Xmas Eve PJs; I get some vaguely festive ones ready for the beginning of Advent, as I think it's nice to build the suspense by having them during December (I do make sure they are clean for Xmas Eve though Wink) I thought about getting Christmas bedding, but decided not to as I'd have even more Christmassy items to store for the rest of the year! DD has some Christmassy crockery and mugs, and we get out the box of Christmas books and CDs at the start of December, to be read throughout the month. My SIL and I swap small Advent gifts for the kids at the start of December, to get them in a festive mood (usually some Christmassy cookie mixture, decorations to make, and a new Christmas book or DVD). On Xmas Eve DD has a nice supper, and maybe some hot chocolate and a Christmas craft; but we don't do a box or any presents. It's enough excitement as it is!

Morning all!

Has anyone else got a house full of those spindly spiders? I discovered a load last night in my kitchen. 😱

I'm not that keen on them, but I let the spindly ones stay as they apparently keep the monster house spiders away. Which is a small price to pay!

CbeebiesAddict · 10/08/2017 07:40

Wow unicorn they are lovely but I can't justify the price :( DH and I still fit in last year's ones so I just need to get a pair for DS, will keep an eye out for when they appear in the supermarkets :)

No spiders here fluffy as we have ninja cats but an increase of spiders in the house means autumn!!!!!

Going to make a crumble this weekend with apples we were given, going to look for blackberries too Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 10/08/2017 07:49

Apple and blackberry crumble with custard also = autumn!

Our neighbours have blackberries and they aren't ripe yet, which is a good thing as we are bloody busy this weekend, so not much time to go out and get blackberries. Hopefully the weekend after will be prime picking time. I want to do jam, so I need a shit ton loads this year! 😁

FridgeCut · 10/08/2017 09:13

Today we ate off christmas plates as DS2 found them and put them out. Holidays are coming..

Minster2012 · 10/08/2017 10:51

It's officially autumn here then @nowordforfluffy as I've been picking lovely ripe blackberries on my 🐶 walks for days now, it's all the weird rain & sun we've had. Getting a freezer full ready for crumbles!!

NoWordForFluffy · 10/08/2017 12:18

Good haul, Minster!

Maybe ours are ripe now then (I've not been home since Tues!). Though they were still green bullets last weekend!

VivaJen · 10/08/2017 12:24

They look fab @Minster2012! Ours are not ready at all, might be another couple of weeks but I am checking every day when I walk the dog Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 10/08/2017 12:32

Where are you, Viva? We are on the NW coast. My mum is in the East Mids and has found loads already!

MrsK · 10/08/2017 12:57

Handbag we had 3 nights in New York beginning of December last year, we had such a fantastic time I am very envious.
I am trying to convince DH to do it again

MrsK · 10/08/2017 13:00

Oops, I forgot to ask if I can join? I have been dipping in & out for a while.

VivaJen · 10/08/2017 13:05

Welcome @MrsK

@NoWordForFluffy I'm up in Scotland in Ayrshire, hopefully won't be long now!

MrsK · 10/08/2017 13:13

Thanks "@Viva*

NoWordForFluffy · 10/08/2017 13:37

Hi MrsK! Xmas Grin

Ayrshire is lovely...we've been to a few parts while I've been working up in Glasgow.

I really need there to be blackberries next weekend, as we are busy this one then up in Scotland for the bank holiday!

We have to limit crumble though...the one we make is seriousky calorific once the custard is added into the equation! 🐷😂

SideOrderofSprouts · 10/08/2017 14:44

Afternoon!

Lots of brambles at the yard at the moment so we've had a few crumbles

FridgeCut · 10/08/2017 15:00

We were eating blackberries at forest school this morning :)

Next week I will take a bag and pick some. I've got apples ready to turn into crumble. Feeling so autumnal I even had my boots on today!

Trying to book event tickets for a christmas thing today, website says tickets available from today but not on the website, grrr!!

tootsieglitterballs · 10/08/2017 18:15

We've been out picking brambles today too! Feels such an autumnal thing, yet it's been glorious sunshine here today!

Annwithnoe · 10/08/2017 20:34

@cookiefiend thanks for those links. They are lovely little bags.

Loving all the pyjama posts. I love the idea of matching pyjamas but am far too mean to buy unnecessary ones for the adults. DH and I are t-shirt sleepers and have good hospital and sleepover pyjamas so they get worn on Christmas morning. I buy new pjs for the kids so they won't look scruffy in the Christmas morning photos but invariably get the size wrong and someone is tripping over their legs.

Everyone wearing red pjs though; that could work! No extra expense, continuity without the inevitable teen rebellion! Brilliant idea for me to steal

I've put the Advent cereal on my Buy list Xmas Grin
Last year DD had a Gruffalo Advent Calender but I reckon she'll happily tuck into a cereal mini every morning.

SideOrderofSprouts · 11/08/2017 00:31

Damn you 70 😂

Augustwashout · 11/08/2017 00:46

I really enjoyed that Biden link. Last year someone on here got stunning Christmas fairy pj from Biden but they are that bit too expensive...I love the idea of christmas shop but everyone I have been in ,Bruges, Salzburg etc bar fowey has been so unfriendly, winding when ever you go near hideously expensive object and utter no no fo children. I always find t k max or home sense do amazing display!

Seriously.... Am I the only one who detests Xmas?!
We ski in France over Xmas as they make so little of it there...
