slim you are in the Christmas topic posting on a thread counting down to Christmas. Chances are the people on it love Christmas...

NoWordForFluffy · 11/08/2017 07:15

@Slimpickin in the thread you are, yes!

As CBeebies said, you're posting in the Christmas topic, so maybe this isn't the right part of MN for you!

christmasunicorn · 11/08/2017 08:15

cbeebies 😂😂

Annwithnoe · 11/08/2017 10:10

I have to rethink my secret stash space this year. I used to keep the stash in our garage which was such a muddle of junk. I had a clever little space behind some boxes that I could get at easily and no one ever looked twice at it. Even dh had no idea (it doubled as my secret goodies stash too).
But I foolishly reorganised the garage and now it's all neat, see-through ikea storage. What was I thinking?????
It's not a problem yet as I haven't bought any big stuff but I need to come up with a good idea soon. The kids are bigger and cleverer too!
The attic is an obvious place but it's such a hassle to go up and down.

NoWordForFluffy · 11/08/2017 10:44

You need to somehow sneakily buy a bed where you lift the mattress to store stuff. They'd never guess! 😂

AIMGA · 11/08/2017 11:14

Is it ok to join? I didn't ask on my last post! Lurked last year and would love to join in this year! I have just started my crafting gifts...knitting 2 scarves for MIL and my Grandma.

I love the idea of hiding in the bed base fluffy ! My kids would never guess Xmas Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/08/2017 11:15

I was just going to say the same as Fluffy. This is my underbed storage space. Last year I managed to hide everything (apart from DS's bike 😂) without anybody suspecting a thing. I'll have even more room in there in a month or so when I put the winter duvet back on the bed. The space is huge though.

DS's bike was in the garage, under a dust sheet, behind an old door. He must have walked past it about 50 times and didn't suspect a thing.

Xmas Grin SideOrder........ Thursday night is my catch up on Eastenders night so I'm idling around for the Countdown .

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/08/2017 11:22

Welcome AMIGA. Jump right in - all like minded posters welcome.

I love Christmas crafts. As well as this thread there will be the Poncetastic thread which is started next month (25th September) although there is a pre-Ponce thread going already. That one is for hardcore do-it-all-from-scratch people Xmas Grin I like a little light poncing myself. I do everything foodwise from scratch but I've made everything in the house decoration-wise that the family will tolerate so I'm biding my time until my DC have houses and families of their own and I can ponce again 😂

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/08/2017 11:23

Sorry - welcome AIMGA

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/08/2017 11:24

Oh and hiding presents... we bought DD the Sylvanians Family Regency Hotel ( 50% off bargain) one year, and covered it in Argos bags in our bedroom (in full view) I told DD it was ' something for your Dad's computer' and she never peeked Xmas Grin

SideOrderofSprouts · 11/08/2017 11:26

I was out at my friends
And got excited that I could do the countdown! slimpickin maybe it's worth checking what topic you are in
Before moaning

FridgeCut · 11/08/2017 11:31

Just made cookies with the boys, we've frozen half the dough. I am going to see how well the slice and cook works and we will do that for Father Christmas. We can make the dough in advance and then in about fifteen minutes have fresh cookies for santa, I think that will feel pretty magical and special. Christmas Eve is a busy day for us, so taking 15 minutes to do something like that will be lovely. I think!

CbeebiesAddict · 11/08/2017 11:55

Love the bed idea! Fortunately I don't have to try too hard at the mo as DS is only 18mo, won't be long though until I too am desperately searching for hiding places 😂

Just had the three days between Christmas and New Year approved as leave. After a houseful I am looking forward to collapsing on a sofa and eating all the leftover food!

NoWordForFluffy · 11/08/2017 12:18

Our DD (just-4) spotted an Entertainer bag on top of the wardrobe and asked to look inside. I said no, so she asked again, saying please, telling me that she'd said please so surely that meant she could look! 😂

I still said no and she did give up.

Everything is now wrapped and under a Gro Blind! She's a climber, so I fully expect to find her on top of the wardrobe before Christmas!

SideOrderofSprouts · 11/08/2017 12:32

The eldest has no idea where I
Hide them between now and Christmas but she knows they will go into the shed before Christmas Eve.

To be fair mine have never looked!

NoWordForFluffy · 11/08/2017 12:43

I was a present-hunter! 🙈

VivaJen · 11/08/2017 12:50

Moring everyone, just got into work to find that they have changed the holiday booking system and we are unable to book the Christmas period off for next year right now (thankfully 2017 is all sorted). I know so many of you barely get time of at Christmas but this was one of the things I really liked about this job!!! I'm away to look at Christmas Trees on Pinterest to cheer myself up! Xmas Sad

PJBanana · 11/08/2017 13:42

I would love to join!

I always get my first pangs of Christmas excitement around this time of year. I always felt like I was the only one, so it's great to know I'm not! Xmas Smile

Where I work, we already have a huge queue of Christmas products in our system ready to go online in a couple of weeks. This means I've already had a sneaky peak at this year's gift sets from quite a few brands. Xmas Wink

I haven't started buying presents but I think I will start doing some lists!

AIMGA · 11/08/2017 14:42

70isalimit I have got the regency hotel (2nd hand from eBay) for DD1 & 2 for this Christmas Xmas Grin I'm now searching for cheaper alternatives to furnish it!!

I bought the DC matching PJ's in Jan sales. Anyone have any nice ideas instead of a Christmas Eve Box? Mine just sort of "expect" it now and would like to shake it up a bit!!

VivaJen · 11/08/2017 15:00

Welcome @PJBanana!

NoWordForFluffy · 11/08/2017 15:03

Welcome AIMGA and PJBanana! The more the merrier!

The Christmas board starts to really hot up now...it makes me excited! 🎄🎄🎄

FridgeCut · 11/08/2017 15:58

As much as I love Christmas I have never got the Christmas Eve box, but then we are always out on christmas eve having christmas day number 1 (We have three :) )

Are they old enough to appreciate a new board game instead of a dvd? Make freak shakes instead of hot choc so have the bits for that in the box? (single packaged brownies, pretzels, milk shake powder, straws, cool cups to make it in?

NoWordForFluffy · 11/08/2017 16:18

I'm not into Christmas Eve boxes either, to be honest. We do bedding and PJs, but no elves and no boxes!

randomer · 11/08/2017 16:20

Slim you will get completely battered on here. Enjoy your skiing.
