Oh. My. God!

I love you, Hubbabubba! Yesterday was the first day in ages I hadn't googled re M&S Christmas food!

HairsprayBabe · 14/09/2017 10:27

YES!!!!

CbeebiesAddict · 14/09/2017 10:30

Thank you Hubba although now I am just more excited for the full catalogue Grin Going into an M&S food later, tempted to try to break into the store room!

SideOrderofSprouts · 14/09/2017 10:32

I think we should have a new thread for 99 Xmas Grin

HairsprayBabe · 14/09/2017 11:00

Just paid the deposit for my works xmas do.

Looks amazing and now I am despo for a mince pie!

Mrsmadevans · 14/09/2017 11:12

Sprout are you going to give the new thread a very Christmassy sounding title yes I am really that sad

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2017 11:14

Good idea, Sprouts!

BiddyPop · 14/09/2017 15:49

So we have roughly 32 hours to fill up this thread then - that's only 90 posts, we're a chatty enough lot to do that!

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2017 15:51

That's got to be doable, surely?

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2017 15:52

Actually, while I think about it, have you dug out your cookie dough recipe, Biddy?

BiddyPop · 14/09/2017 15:57

I bought my wine for Christmas turkey yesterday - I needed to shelter from rain and the good offlicence was handy. I chatted and got advice (as I do every year in September re turkey wine - I get other wine there on occasion but not weekly). I went in with a €15-25 budget in my head for each of 2 bottles, and came out with 2 bottles each costing €19.95 but they only charged me €35! Xmas Grin It pays to be chatty and slightly known as a customer!!

I still have my dessert wine.

I want a bottle of bubbles (but DH may well get a bottle before then from someone).

The only other thing I particularly want is a half-bottle of M&S port.

I will eventually also restock my sherry (I like Old East India - which is hard to get) and that almond liqueur (there are biscuits with a very similar name - and both escape me right now).

BiddyPop · 14/09/2017 16:02

Blush Ooops - sorry about that Fluffy, life has been a bit mad.

I should be at the computer at home tonight, so I'll add that to my list of things to do (write CI Committee minutes, email other Scout Leader about sailing trip this weekend, write up minutes of Scout leaders' meeting, fill in Scout and Family diaries, email 2 Cub parents about this weekend, send a couple of emails to CI Committee members, um, I think that was it for non-work things)....

Some one of these years I will learn that September is the messy month and schedule myself better!

Hubbabubbababy123 · 14/09/2017 16:49

Oooo I'm delighted ye hadn't seen it so. Not all items are available in Ireland and I hate that.. there is Christmas stuff popping up everywhere in the little town I live in. It's really flying in fast 🙇🎅 frist forecast here for the weekend.. some people may hate me but I'm excited for hats, gloves and layers 😍

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2017 17:03

I've just put the heating on to take the chill off the bathroom before the kids' bath! The wind has made it bloody cold round here recently.

Don't worry if you're too busy, Biddy I was only posting to get towards a full thread!

FireflyGirl · 14/09/2017 17:10

Biddy think you mean Amaretto?

Last night was a good night for me. I got a fabric calendar last year to make for DS, with the intention of embroidering it, didn't finish it and then lost the bits. Finally found them last night! Yey!

I'm vaguely following the house and holiday cleaning plan, and this week is crafty stuff. Mine is in a cupboard in the spare room, but I can't get to it for DH'S crap piled in front of the cupboard. So, preliminary tidying is sort the crap to get to the crafty stuff. Then I can properly sort my crafty stuff and start on Christmas projects!

Mrsmadevans · 14/09/2017 17:11

I resisted the sweeties 2 tins for 7 quid in Mr T today . I know from bitter experience the saving does not actually occur because We end up eating the lot and HAVE TO BUY MORE!

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2017 17:48

Which is exactly why they sell them now, Mrs; cynical marketing ploy!

SideOrderofSprouts · 14/09/2017 18:31

I reckon we can do it

It would be nice wouldn't it. And I could give it a lovely festive name

FireflyGirl · 14/09/2017 18:53

I've bought the Tesco chocolates to put away for the bin men/postman. DH and DS can't have dairy, and I'm on a diet, so I'm going to put them in the garage until the week before Christmas and hopefully forget they're there when I start getting cravings.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2017 19:01

DS got to chocolate on the milk ladder then refused to try anything above that, so we are at an impasse with regards progress. Though after an unfortunate post-ice cream incident (which I'd guess sits at the same level as UHT milk as it's heated) - 💩💩💩💩- I can safely say that milk DOES NOT agree with him still! 🙈😱

FridgeCut · 14/09/2017 19:42

DS1 shat himself on holiday during breakfast, luckily we were at the chalet and he was sat outside on a plastic chair. He'd had pain au chocolat. He is really random what will hit the fast exit button. Moo free calendars have been bought and stashed for the boys. Wilf asked for a chocolate one this year otherwise I'd use my handmade fabric one with halloween candy in again.

All my foil dishes for christmas food prep arrived today, very excited to start getting on with batch cooking some nice meals I can throw in the oven and red cabbage, gravy, stuffing, cinnamon rolls etc! Yay! Prepping! Swedish glace got finished today to make room :)

NoWordForFluffy · 14/09/2017 20:21

DS is strictly on Swedish Glacé only from now on!

And I may have recently bought a chest freezer so that we don't have to make room in our other freezer! 🙈😂 It's bloody ace, I tell you!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/09/2017 20:35

If you need dairy-free, those cartons of coconut cream or tins of coconut milk, chilled, drained and whisked is a brilliant cream substitute , and doesn't taste over-poweringly coconut.

Swedish Glace is very sweet/vanilla, but there is chocolate or raspberry (not tried either of those though)
