Have you started working on any crafts in preparation for Christmas? Or got plans to? Would love to hear about other people's plans and projects, feel free to share here whatever you're working on or anything really to do with Christmas crafting.

I'm currently looking around for ideas/patterns for...
Advent calendars
Stockings
Simple-to-make gifts in general

Thanks wondermoomin lovely thread!
umlauf your wreath is gorgeous- very impressive!!
I'm also intending to make a crocheted Christmas wreath though haven't decided exactly which type yet. Recently made my first wreath for Autumn, inspired by attic24.
Have gin infusing with raspberries in the cupboard and gooseberry chutney made.
Few more things in the freezer for more chutnies and jams- just need to get a few hrs child free to get them made!!
Planning to put together an emma bridgewater cracker tin (£5.20 temptation gifts) with some crackers and homemade chutneys for a few gifts.
Love crafting of any description.
Love the idea of pom-poms for indoor snowballs too ladysilvia

umlauf (love the username btw) that wreath is gorgeous! Love the shark too! My grandma taught me to crochet as a girl as I was too left handed to learn to knit from her! I have her whole collection of 80's children jumpers patterns and want to learn to knit just so I can make them for my children.

Love the indoor snowball fight idea ..also the candles! Dd informs me she is making lipscrub for friends Brown sugar and coconut oil..apparently you can get the empty canisters in primarkGrin

LadySilvia · 11/09/2016 13:15

umlauf a pom-pom maker?! You've just blown my mind! I use a fork. Blush

LadySilvia · 11/09/2016 13:36

Spamming the thread a bit now, but I've just spotted this and love the idea!

I need to make a shark blanket now! You lot have inspired me.

I'm very envious at how skilled you lot are. I'd pay plenty for the things posted on this thread!

I'm thinking about making apple cosies and maybe kindle cases. These are two cosies I've done already.

I've just started painting a wooden advent calendar for dd. Got the base from hobby craft, I plan to make one for each dc. Next one will be done with decoupage, I've never done that before so no idea if it's going to be a fail.
I also buy empty Christmas crackers which I fill with miniature alcohol ( wrapped in bubble wrap) and bits that I've saved from beauty boxes. I get the kids to decorate the hat inside and they write their own jokes and we make them into scrolls.

I want to make candles with matching soaps this year...but there are so many ways of doing it...can anyone point me in the right direction for simple easy to make recipes?

fivetosix · 11/09/2016 14:34

Tutorials for these wreaths are a plenty and lots of ideas on Pinterest.
You can even add LED lights and beading for extra specialness!

The trees can be made to match too!

Those bauble wreaths are beautiful! I made some book paper ones last year and decorated with a few baubles and ribbon from The Range.

Im making a quilted table runner and a evergreen felt wreath . I'm very excited to start. Bought the fabric for the table runner so am waiting for that to arrive. Last year I made a tree skirt.

fivetosix · 11/09/2016 16:54

Your paper wreath is amazing! I would love to experiment with different materials. I want to try making a Christmas swag this year but not sure where to start!

BurningGubbins · 11/09/2016 17:06

I follow the Sew Mama Sew blog throughout the year, but love their handmade holidays series where they release a new series of tutorials every day of November. It's on its 10th year this year, so plenty for you to trawl!

FindersKeeperz · 11/09/2016 17:14

Place marking for later Smile

SuperPug · 11/09/2016 17:21

Place marking for future reference. Sadly, no ideas at the moment.

FireflyGirl · 11/09/2016 17:29

I'm making DS an advent calendar - a panel you put together yourself, but I'm embroidering it and adding beads to make it more personalised.

I'm being strict with myself, and not starting another project until I've finished this.

I seem to remember seeing your wreath before, umlaut, and coveting it then. Think that'll be a project for next year, though.

Thank you.. I've posted it last year firefly under old name... Blush I'm very proud of it!!!

Annaanaconda · 11/09/2016 19:34

Thanks fivetosix! Here's another one I made. What sort of swag do you want to make? A floristry one?

Ooh so many lovely ideas!
I'm going to try my hand at some simple sewing projects, starting with some tissue holders like this
And work up to a tablet/kindle/book pillow like this
I'm going to experiment with a grid-it type holder and see how it works out.

FireflyGirl · 11/09/2016 21:40

Umlauf - sorry, was Autocorrected! You should be proud, it's gorgeous.

Just remembered I'm breaking my own rule - making a Pinterest inspired felt tree for DS who will be 21 months, to try and keep him away from my tree. Even DH isn't allowed near my tree except to do the lights at the top because I'm a short-arse Shock

Potentialmadcatlady · 11/09/2016 23:31

Thanks Tea.. I will go have a look..
