My DS (2.5) is telling anyone who asks that he would like 'socks' for Christmas this year. When I told my friend, she said that her child once answered her with 'Mummy, I'd reeeeeeally like my own packet of Blu Tack'.

Any other great 'modest' Xmas present requests?

I once put Blu Tack in DS's stocking..he was overjoyed. He is always acquiring Blu Tack from school

SanityClause · 25/11/2014 12:44

DD2 once came up with a disarmingly modest Christmas list. I can't remember what was on it, but it's so lovely, because they can only be delighted when they get the little things they asked for, and something big as well.

DillydollyRIP · 25/11/2014 12:45

My ds asked for a yoyo last year. His list is a little longer this year though :)

Gluetap · 25/11/2014 12:46

My DS (nearly 4) just wants a stripy hula hoop.

Thurlow · 25/11/2014 12:46

"A red one"

No idea what needs to be red, just - what present do you want? "A red one."

Confused

My dd (13) has only asked for a jar of Nutella this year. It was a packet of Pringles last year Hmm strange child that she is Grin

GeeandTea · 25/11/2014 12:51

My dd(7) has just written to fc. As well as things for her she has asked for 'nice stuff for mummy'. I am not sure if she thinks I don't have nice things?! Because I certainly don't need anything. But it did make me want to give her a big squeeze.

dingit · 25/11/2014 12:54

Cats, have you seen the Nutella cookery book? I'm going to get it for my dd Smile

SouthernOne · 25/11/2014 13:01

I did see online that you could get personalised jars of nutella, might be worth a search

My DD2 once just asked for an umbrella hat!

DD1 (nearly 15) only has books on her list this year

SouthernOne · 25/11/2014 13:04

sorry guys seems no longer available online, it does say in store at selfridges, can't see if it's a current thing though (nutella)

daisychicken · 25/11/2014 13:21

Ds2, now aged 10, asked for a pack of pegs for Christmas when he was 4 - he was obsessed with making dens with blankets and airers and hated not being able to have pegs because I had washing on the line!

Pasithea · 25/11/2014 13:24

A big cardboard box. Mmmmmm

momofmonster · 25/11/2014 13:27

i saw them doing the personalised jars of nutella in the birmingham bullring last night for 3.99 a jar!! I was tempted then i realised it would be 4 for a jar of nutella!!!

tiggyhop · 25/11/2014 13:28

My 3 (11) (10) (9) want a can each of silly string

TimeForAnotherNameChange · 25/11/2014 13:29

Ds2 has a habit of getting fixated on one random thing as a present, usually modest, thankfully! Two years ago it was a yo-yo, last year was an umbrella, this year it appears to be a minion onesie. He genuinely squeals with excitment when he gets that one thing, he likes the other things we get him but at least the fixation means we know he's going to have a great christmas!

Ohnodisaster · 25/11/2014 13:30

Thurlow-my ds (2) wants a 'purple one!'

When dd was 3 she asked for a lollipop, a book and a jigsaw. She repeated this little list to everyone who asked her what she'd like and got some very sympathetic looks as if I'd indoctrinated her Grin. Once she'd found those presents in her stocking she wasn't really bothered about opening anything else.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 25/11/2014 13:31

Dd has asked for a ladybug yoyo and a hello kitty balloon!

Badvocinapeartree · 25/11/2014 13:32

Ds2 asked for blu tack last year :)
This year it's a guitar and camera!

AnneOfCleavage · 25/11/2014 13:33

DD once wrote in a letter to Santa:

Please, please, please can I have a Satsuma this year.

I had forgotten to put one in a couple of years back Blush

Raahh · 25/11/2014 13:33

Dd1 (8) has ' a watermelon' on her list.

I'm beginning to thing Santa may be making a Tesco-delivery stylee substitution Grin

RueDeWakening · 25/11/2014 13:34

My dd and ds1 both got a pack of blu tack in their stockings last Christmas, both were delighted with it Grin

turkeyboots · 25/11/2014 13:34

My DS drew his Christmas gift wish for a display at nursery. In with all the dolls and teddys was his request for a bowl of crisps!

Didactylos · 25/11/2014 13:38

I asked for a pack of cards age 5 (because my teen sibs were sick of me stealing theirs, but to me playing cards were so adult and cool)
my mother was apparently tearing her hair out trying to work out what interested me
I remember getting my pack of cards, but nothing else that I was given that year!
