My DS (2.5) is telling anyone who asks that he would like 'socks' for Christmas this year. When I told my friend, she said that her child once answered her with 'Mummy, I'd reeeeeeally like my own packet of Blu Tack'.

Any other great 'modest' Xmas present requests?

DD wanted a brown jumper for her barbie. Fat chance, barbie clothes come in pink, pink or pink! So I ended up making her one myself.

Scruffle · 26/11/2014 23:07

Last year DS (2.5) wanted some Cillit Bang. This year he's decided he'd like some gingerbread. He's easily pleased!

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 27/11/2014 05:51

DS (3) wants a new towel. He loves everything fluffy and cuddly!

Magicpinkshadow · 27/11/2014 06:33

My ds (6) has asked for this:

Scooby doo stuff
gross science
Cake stuff
Chocolate
Toy ship
Special breakfast and easter
Wallkytalky
Special diner and easter
Special lunch and for Easter
Twix
Pudding

Honestly I do feed him! Grin

My 4 year old just wants a 'bauble with a picture of a dog on it'.

7 year old on the other hand wants 'a baby donkey'.

IneedAwittierNickname · 27/11/2014 06:42

Not a Christmas request but hey ho.

Ds2 was 8 this year and my mum asked him what he wanted
"Macaroni cheese"
So she bought him a tin of it. (And some 'real' presents.

I known over the years my boys have asked for some really weird stuff. I just can't remember what!

dancestomyowntune · 27/11/2014 07:11

Dd2 (5) wants an elsa dress, not that unusual you say... She also wants Elsa shoes, elsa hair, elsa tiara, elsa wand, elsa gloves and... Wait for it... Elsa magic powers! Not sure how to fill that one! We have bought her finger lights but I'm not sure they will freeze her brothers like she wants!

Last year it was a unicorn. A real one. Santa explained that unicorns are very hard to catch and she got a toy one but it was touch and go!

BippityBoppity · 27/11/2014 07:43

The year that they came out, DD was desperate for a no touch handwash dispenser.

Last year DS's only request was for 3 editions of the Nintendo magazine.

I'm loving the half a salmon as a mermaid tail. Best leave it wrapped in the fridge until the morning I guess Grin. My dd2 has requested a toy vacuum cleaner. I wouldn't mind but she's nearly 12! I think she's envious of her little cousin's kitchen paraphernalia. I suggested she could use the real one, but not good enough apparently. Low on the fun quota I believe. I'm considering a carpet sweeper.

dancestomyowntune · 27/11/2014 08:47

A child we know (who was 10/11 at the time) asked Santa for a mermaid tail. Her mum got her something called a monofin or robofin or something!

BitOutOfPractice · 27/11/2014 08:54

myPanda could you get away with this?

BitOutOfPractice · 27/11/2014 08:54

Oh! I see someone got there first. Sorry!

SockDrawer · 27/11/2014 09:08

What do they do with the blue tac?

PurpleAlert · 27/11/2014 09:27

DD1 aged 4 asked for a wash basket one year!

DD2 aged three asked for a Barbie jigsaw. Could we find a barbie jigsaw anywhere???? So we bought a 30 piece jigsaw and a barbie magazine and DH painstakingly stuck a picture from the magazine onto the jigsaw and recut it with a craft knife. We then stuck some pink wrapping paper over the box and another Barbie picture over the top.

It looked great and she was none the wiser- her reaction on Christmas day was magic (we have it on film!)

MyPandaisasecretmonster · 27/11/2014 09:29

Bit Thanks Grin

WildFlowersAttractBees · 27/11/2014 09:51

DD3 wants a pink yoyo with her name on it. When asked if she would like anything else she replied 'no thanks, I got a scooter for my birthday'.

UptoapointLordCopper · 27/11/2014 09:58

SockDrawer That's a question best left unanswered, I think. >

Mrscog · 27/11/2014 10:35

DS (2.9) wants a 'pile of real soil'. We're just having the garden landscaped a bit so he might be in luck!

Aberchips · 27/11/2014 15:27

My 2.5 year old son instructed his Grandma to write "cars & cheese" on his letter to Father Christmas last year!! This year may be a little more tricky I think!

shopalot · 27/11/2014 15:33

My dd (7) has asked for a French baguette. On querying this with her she says "she loves French baguettes and doesn't want to share with her brothers!!" Apparently they always eat more than her and it is not fair!!

BitOutOfPractice · 27/11/2014 15:51

Do you know what, I absolutely love this thread. It's got it all. Tears, laughter and a real warm feeling of squishy Christmas love. Brilliant!

HellKitty · 27/11/2014 15:59

My DCs were spoilt but one year all my dc1 played with was a squishy skeleton you throw at windows. The following year it was a yo-yo. For three days solid. It's bonkers!

And it was a tradition that 'naughty boys' get socks and pants in their stockings, so he always did and would want and expect them. He's 17 now and still wants that.

Mumonabroom · 27/11/2014 17:35

My DS1 has just dictated his letter to FC and asked for: chocolate buttons, Chocolqte Orange, Chocolate coins and a small pink bin for his room (presumably for the wrappers?). He's 4.

BirdhouseInYourSoul · 27/11/2014 18:13

DS would like a giant bottle of Fanta so he can take a tiny sip each day.

And he wants big boy shorts instead of pants because someone at school told him his looked like knickers.0

BirdhouseInYourSoul · 27/11/2014 18:19

DD is 13 and wants her own Tassimo account with some money to spend on it. This stems from the fact that I have limited her to one hot chocolate pod a day and one latte on a saturday morning as I'm not keen on kids drinking coffee but she adores it...
