My DS (2.5) is telling anyone who asks that he would like 'socks' for Christmas this year. When I told my friend, she said that her child once answered her with 'Mummy, I'd reeeeeeally like my own packet of Blu Tack'.

Any other great 'modest' Xmas present requests?

Grin @ giant bottle of Fanta.

Loving all these.

One year DS2, then about 7yo, wrote the sweetest list, nothing more than a few quid, eg a diary, a calendar, a big bar of chocolate, a candy cane...

Sadly he is now 11 and wants these footy boots

I asked my son (nearly 5) what he wanted for Xmas and he replied:

'Whatever you want to buy, it's up to you'

His birthday is Sat and when I asked what he wanted then it was:

'Id like a phone but not old enough but don't want a fake one'

That is it. Unless he thinks if he just mentions one thing he really wants he will get it I don't know.

I asked my brother (3.5) what he wanted the other day. He said:

'Blue one, a ghost and fish food'

Sister (4) wants:

'Pink dye so can dye the hamster and lots of brown coins'

Dd, 21 months wants more milk for Christmas Smile
When my Dt cousins were about 5 they wanted peanut butter for Christmas but then were upset when my brother actually got some for them!

DD(2) wants "pink".

You see I knew I was right to feel a bit Hmm about someone on another thread who, rather sniffily, said they would go into debt for Christmas because they wanted to give their child a present that was a bit more meaningful than a chocolate orange (or words to that effect). Look at all these inexpensive things that mean so much to children! I saw on FB recently a FC letter asking for... a chocolate orange, too.

As yet though I can't bring much to this thread though in terms of what was asked Blush

'Blue one, a ghost and fish food'

Grin haha Dezza , good luck to you/your Mum with that, especially the ghost (difficult buggers to get hold of and wrap those ghosts).

When he was 6 or 7 my son asked for cardboard boxes. He just loved sitting in them, sticking smaller ones together to make things, piling them up, etc. We wrapped up a huge box filled with smaller ones. Best present ever. He still talks about it now he is 15.

My DS would like his own soap so he doesn't have to share his sisters germs Shock

Aw, Tunna, I think you win the thread! What a lovely boy Xmas Grin.

DD1 said, after rattling off a great big list "...but it's not about presents, is it mummy? It's about Jesus's birthday and spending time with your family!" Bless!

Last year when I asked him what he wanted, DS, then 2, kept saying "Father Christmas give a book." He'd seen him 3 times and each time that's what he's been given. I think he thought that was all you got from FC! Grin

DS2 has asked for some Kinder eggs! He's 6. Other than that, he'd quite like some Hot Wheels cars.

I suspect if DD could talk she would ask for a load of crinkly wrapping paper to eat. Seriously, I swear the girl thinks she's a gerbil, always trying to chew till receipts etc!

SugarMice - 'boys' Kinder Eggs currently contain... Hot Wheel cars! Not as good as real ones of course.

Blibblib if I have a dig around I'm sure I have a green lightsaber that retracts into the handle it doesn't light up or make a noise or anything but if I can find it and you want it you are welcome to it. It's never been played with, I bought it for myself when I was 19 in Disney after the ride so it was just for show really.

Aww, thanks RoundRobinSparkles

Thing is my DS has autism, so to all those professionals who think kids with ASD don't show empathy, carry on walking!

That letter comes from the heart because he doesn't understand the world around him, and that causes him anxiety, which then causes him pain through panic attacks, stomach pain, etc. But he has empathy because he doesn't want anyone else to go through what he feels.

I'm very lucky to have such an insightful young man [proud]

A wooden spoon (29p from wilko) was the bees knees when DS 1 was 4, an old cardboard box filled with balloons was fantastic fun the year before! (Sadly ds2 aged 5 not so easily pleased, he wrote his 'wish list' in September with 39 sets of Lego on it!)
