Now I am nosy intrigued as to how much the dreaded 'twitch' cost you last year. I probably won't start twitching until at least the second week only December when things are getting wrapped... But it cost £140 with oh I don't think dbil has as much as dfil etc etc .

Tell me your stories Grin and make me feel better

I wrapped DDs gifts last night and the twitching has begun in earnest!

This year is weird because it's the first timer I've done presents from us and a stocking from Santa.

The pile from us is not huge but as she's now 9 she is having some bigger/more expensive things. She has everything she asked for, but there is no surprise. Am sitting on my hands to stop myself booking Rizzle Kicks tickets atm!

Stocking seems inadequate/boring. It is almost all smellies & sweets.

Don't get paid till Friday so I suspect there is going to be some painful last minute shopping going on. Haven't got anything for DH yet or made the calendars for the Nan's and my auntie...or even finished writing the cards...Wine Wine Wine Wine

capsium · 15/12/2013 09:34

Ah, save it for the sales.

capsium · 15/12/2013 09:38

I used to love smellies. Had soaps lined round the bath and used to sit there smelling them all. Probably scummed the bath up no end, my poor parents... Also I can remember the first time having an actual box of chocolates, just for me and not a selection box. Fantastic!

capsium · 15/12/2013 09:40

Oh and massive packets of felt tips with some truly delicious colours to look at. I was a strange child!

JugglingUnwiselyWithBaubles · 15/12/2013 10:15

I remember my first box of really nice chocs capsium - from a boy friend - they were divine.
Might have to get the DC a box each now !!

DumSpiroSperHoHoHo · 15/12/2013 12:37

You sound like me capsicum - I was always more excited about bath stuff and stationery than anything else!

Need to get some stationery for DD, although tbh she's already got enough to start her own shop.

Ordered some funky shoelaces, another book & DVD for DD and some fridge magnet blanks to make Nick Knowles and Mark Webber fridge magnets for my mum Grin !

Haven't got DD a selection box, just an assortment of sweets and chocs I know she likes to go in the foot of her stocking. She specifically requested a box of each different flavor of Tic Tacs...funny girl!

JugglingUnwiselyWithBaubles · 15/12/2013 12:40

Ooh, I like the new tropical flavour ones Spiro - lovely mango taste Xmas Smile

Onelittlebugbear · 15/12/2013 15:06

Oh n

Onelittlebugbear · 15/12/2013 15:06

Oh no I've just twitched and brought some armed forces stuff off eBay. Now I have to go and fetch it. It was a bargain though, but did ds need it? Not really!

StairsInTheNight · 15/12/2013 18:56

Had been doing really well and then weakened... Went on Amazon and bought a Dragonology book for DS and 12 starry placemats.

That is it! No more twitching..

capsium · 15/12/2013 18:59

I think what prevents me from the twitch is that I don't really enjoy shopping any more very much. I feel relieved when it is all done. I felt a bit faint in the overly heated shops today because rest of family wanted to go and couldn't really concentrate on anything.

So once it is done I feel very pleased. I love Christmas though. Xmas Smile

Clandy · 15/12/2013 19:15

Thanks morethanchristmas I'm worried too- for my bank balance rather than me though! I am very twitchy today! It's too long to wait. Maybe I could fake Christmas early!?!

JugglingUnwiselyWithBaubles · 16/12/2013 14:25

Not exactly a twitch as some pressies were still needed, but feel better now that I've got an order in today with the Book People - that should help.

Am feeling a bit twitchy about dd though as I think ds has more.
Getting the balance right between sibs is so tricky isn't it? Xmas Confused

mileysorearse · 16/12/2013 16:12

I have finished the presents. I know I said that last week then got the Soap and Glory set but I am not keeping it for myself once I go and collect it. I am twitching at some tickets for DP to go and see The Selecter now. I saw them last year supporting someone else and they were really good. He only really likes old Ska though, not the 80's stuff,so I am in two minds and they are not as cheap as I thought they might be.

3bunnies · 16/12/2013 16:43

Is there a cure for the Twitch? My shopping is complete so why am I looking for kids Spanish and French CD/ books?

Clandy · 16/12/2013 19:33

3bunnies- the only cure is Christmas! And it's more of a small distraction than a cure! It will all begin again by June!!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 16/12/2013 19:48

I thought I was avoiding it this year. But have just twitched and got dsis and bil £60 worth of plants. I had guilt that I hadn't got either of them a birthday present this year. And they've just moved to their first house with a garden. A big garden. And I was looking for a little extra something for them. £60 though....

Nix01 · 16/12/2013 20:46

I've finished all the shopping thanks to the bargain threads. It's already wrapped. Ds1's birthday presents are also sorted. Christmas food booked, menus done. Now I'm bored. When do the proper sales start and will there be a thread???

Luggage16 · 16/12/2013 21:05

I am still twitching about buying a CD player for dd! Not sure if its too much though? atm she has - furby boom, some schleich fairies, schleich fairy carriage, slime kit, lego friends set, playmobil set, some moshi monsters and PDSA kids club membership. Both kids are having a castle to share but i cant help feeling it will look more like its for my son iyswim. Argh am going round in circles, it would be really useful as they play a lot in playroom so they could listen to stories while they play. But would it be too many gifts?!

mileysorearse · 17/12/2013 09:59

Twitchers, M&S have 50% off some decs, cards, wrapping, crackers, red cookware and gifts. I have already been, I got a naice festive red apron

Clandy · 18/12/2013 16:11

Elc have 50% off! I have twitched again and it's not even guaranteed to come in time! Hmm Oops

omama · 18/12/2013 21:44

I twitched too! Amazon matched ELC's price on the Imaginext dragon & I couldn't resist! Hitting M&S tomorrow Wink

NewBeginningsSnoopy · 18/12/2013 21:47

Ok twitchers how am I going to handle this one? I have got several lego things that go together in a set EXCEPT the last part has QUADRUPLED in price on Amazon due to being sold out. So... Do I just keep the whole lot til his birthday in January when it will all be cheaper?

NewBeginningsSnoopy · 18/12/2013 22:13

Also- do my kids REALLY need onesies costing total £30 for Christmas Eve?!?

NewBeginningsSnoopy · 18/12/2013 22:14

Also, does my son REALLY need a £20 watch? Thanks!
