So what do YOU want for Christmas?!

ThatsNotMyPinot · 10/10/2013 16:00

There are so many threads on what to get DCs/aged relatives for Christmas, I thought I would start one with our Christmas wish lists - fantasy or otherwise!

This is the place to be extremely materialistic and share what you would like Santa to bring you this December 25th.

After world peace blah, blah, blah, I would like the following:

A nice watch (haven't had one for years)
An appointment to get my 'colours' done
Sheepskin slippers
Some new running trainers
Riding lessons
Some nice skin care products and make up
Paperchase stationary
A shopping spree for new clothes on the back of having my colours done

I am never in million years expecting all of this, maybe one or two things if I'm lucky! I also like surprises/little bits and bobs too.

What is on your crimbo list this year? Smile

joan your post makes me really :( - how miserable that you don't feel you can have the kind of Christmas you'd like. You sound like great fun, could you not do some of those things anyway and sod your grumpy DH? I have a less than sociable DH too (although I am training him!) but sometimes I think you just have to accept you want different things and make your own arrangements.

HomicidalPsychoJungleCat · 13/10/2013 09:13

If its a fantasy list I would like.
A new sofa
A gorgeous rug I have seen on OKA
New carper in the living room and stairs sanded down with gorgeous runner fitted.
The money to be able to buy some beautiful paintings
My hall, stairs and landing painted, by someone who can do an amazing job.
A beehive and beekeeping kit
A cleaner twice a week (or the energy/motivation to get round to all the shitty jobs.)
My hideaway room to be refloored in wood (and not be full of the crap we currently have in there which means I can't use it.)
A new mac
A new camera, the hideously expensive one that I will never, ever have.
A holiday somewhere warm for us and my lovely parents, who have really pulled it out of the bagsince i had dc's and are amazing and who I can never thank enough for the fantastic support we get. We'd need it to be somewhere with space, because they do argue.
To own our house
A pony and somewhere to school it for dd, as it would make her whole life.

I would have added a new job for Dh, but we just found out he's been offered the one he wanted, clever bugger, so I don't have to! :)

As lovely as all that would be I already feel so freaking lucky in having a good husband, two healthy kids, and a fab extended family that in reality all I want for Xmas is for my life not to change too dramatically (for the worse in anyway. If I win the lottery I promise to spend the majority of it doing good for others)

So Santa, Please let everyone in my family stay healthy, enjoying school, and employed where they are now (or going to be in DH's case) and lucky enough to be as happy as we have this year. Oh, and pleae bring sahmof3 all of her Christmas wishes, because after 20 years of nothing she deserves it.

HomicidalPsychoJungleCat · 13/10/2013 09:29

Joan, you should do alternate Christmases one year your way, one year his. Don't have a quiet Christmas this year,do your noisy one and bugger him. It may be the last Christmas you ever have, don't waste it!

Ragwort · 13/10/2013 09:37

I don't want any stuff but I would love some 'services' (Wink - not that kind!).

Someone to wash and valet my car.
A really thorough house clean
Decorating
Gardening

Grin
DulcetMoans · 13/10/2013 09:41

On my fantasy list:
A baby! Or more specifically, a BFP!
New sofa
One of those massive American fridge freezers that are stupidly expensive
I will probably want a share in the gardener some of the others are having
A brand new kitchen; decorated and fitted to my liking but also somehow a surprise

On the realistic list:
Spice rack
Whitney CD for the car (I need this for singing alone purposes)
A new bag
The Office season 8 DVD
A coat

I might get two of these and I will be happy! To be REALLY happy though, i'm gonna need the BFP!

HomicidalPsychoJungleCat · 13/10/2013 09:50

wondering soul what size are you? Just been given 2 pairs of size 30 waist (12) gap jeans that don't fit me by a lovely friend, if you'd like them PM me your address and I'll happily send them on.

dawntigga · 13/10/2013 09:53

An Amazon voucher so I can buy things for my Kindle, everything else just brings stuff into the house and we have more than enough stuff.

Or land, about 15 acres - 30 if you're feeling generous so friends of ours can live on the opposite end and we can small hold together without getting on each others nerves.

Or seed capital to get a company off the ground.

HorseyGirl1 · 13/10/2013 12:10

A pretty butter dish and a BFP around Easter would do nicely.
Everything else I need and want in life I already have - my wants are few!

Goldenhandshake · 13/10/2013 13:08

I'd like:

Issey Miyake pefume or Christian Dior Hypnotic Poison
My birthstone earrings from Pandora
Benefit Perfect 10 blusher
Some nice new leather gloves

OhGood · 13/10/2013 15:56

A dishwasher, which DH and I have given each other for Xmas.

I know, I know, but I love it with a deep and burning passion.

We're on austerity due to maternity leave, so no other presents.

GeekInThePink · 13/10/2013 16:43

Joules pj's
Wickmere candle in fireside
iPad of any sort!
Boden vouchers
Kitchen aid in cream or red

puffinnuffin · 13/10/2013 18:31

Please can I have:
A whole nights sleep
A tidy, well organised house
Time to read a book
Rescue guinea pigs which squeak nicely (I love guinea pigs)
Cath Kidston mushroom dress

RedBushedT · 13/10/2013 18:41

Great idea! I can never think at the time people ask me...
I would like a magazine subscription to Good Housekeeping or Real Homes mag so I can look forward to it each month.
Either books from my Amazon wish list, or Amazon vouchers.
A lightweight satin or soft cotton dressing gown for during summer. A pretty nightdress too Wink

Most of all, I'd like to see more of my boyfriend next year. That'd be the best Christmas present! Time booked into our diaries Grin

ladybirdinwaiting · 13/10/2013 18:46

What I'd like:
a knife skills class at Leiths
a Kenmore mixer - the expensive one
a membership to a really nice gym
Chloe Roses perfume

What I get every year and will get again, but do not want and will get angry/hurt/resentful over:
a pen

I suppose I might get the perfume, too, as I've already mentioned it by name and it's not fantastically expensive. But I have my doubts.

ladybirdinwaiting · 13/10/2013 18:52

also, Joan, your msg resonates with me, too!

gamerchick · 13/10/2013 18:53

Knife skills? Like throwing knives? That would be so cool Grin

ladybirdinwaiting · 13/10/2013 18:55

That would be cool, but no -- knife skills as in chopping onions... but maybe I will have a re-think if I get another pen this year.

Runnerlegs · 13/10/2013 20:00

My mum to be cancer and chemo free.
My ex to transported to a far off planet in another galaxy.
My DH and kids to get everything they desire.
Clarins Relax for me and a heap load of other overpriced luxuries! Smile

joanofarchitrave · 13/10/2013 23:32

ladybird, a pen every year?? now i lose things a lot but really, the same thing every time? Sad

ladybirdinwaiting · 14/10/2013 00:09

Yes, Joan, really. It's so depressing.

joanofarchitrave · 14/10/2013 00:16

Oh dear.

I think I would just buy what I wanted and wrap it up for myself.

I wonder what is going through that person's little head as they think 'ah! a pen! just the ticket, ladybird is bound to love that!'

nickstmoritz · 14/10/2013 02:00

Ladies, this thread makes me think we need a MASSIVE secret Santa to make sure all you lovely people with no pressies, shitty pens and mardy arse husbands get something nice.

Jeans lady - try NYDJ jeans but look on ebay as they are a tad pricey. High up waist so no crackage and a bit of stretch, also not too skinny. Found two pairs in charity shop last week which were £3.50 each but not my size - damn!

Wish list
perfume - Chanel not sure which one
Chic CD for the car
Neals Yard exotic bath oil..and time for a bath

Fantasy wish list would be a painting by an artist I admire which costs around £800
A family holiday that is not camping in the rain

Last year I was secretly disappointed with my Kenwood mixer thingy but I have used it loads and learned to make the best ever sponge cakes that I am proud of so I take back my disappointment. BUT I don't want another practical pressie this year though.

BirdingWidow · 14/10/2013 04:28

Mooster, you could try Next for jeans. They have a pair called Sexy High Waisted Jeans (slim) which are comfy and flattering for £28. I replaced a pair of NYDJ with them and have never looked back.

2 years ago all I wanted was a BFP - after 2 years of trying and crying I was giving up. But then I fell pregnant that Christmas and DS is now nearly 13 months and utterly wonderful. Don't really care about anything else though some salty milk chocolate wafers from rococo wouldn't go amiss

BirdingWidow · 14/10/2013 04:29

I say 'wonderul' but it is his fault I am up at 4.30am. He ain't no sleeper...

Mooster1709 · 14/10/2013 06:11

Ooh, just looked at those next jeans -thanks
