So what do YOU want for Christmas?!

There are so many threads on what to get DCs/aged relatives for Christmas, I thought I would start one with our Christmas wish lists - fantasy or otherwise!

This is the place to be extremely materialistic and share what you would like Santa to bring you this December 25th.

After world peace blah, blah, blah, I would like the following:

A nice watch (haven't had one for years)
An appointment to get my 'colours' done
Sheepskin slippers
Some new running trainers
Riding lessons
Some nice skin care products and make up
Paperchase stationary
A shopping spree for new clothes on the back of having my colours done

I am never in million years expecting all of this, maybe one or two things if I'm lucky! I also like surprises/little bits and bobs too.

For the first time in 8 years this christmas I will be single.


It's not all bad because I will buy myself something glorious from the cat, the guinea pigs and my children!

Cut, colour and keratin treatment.

lvl lashes.
new clothes.

sheepskin slippers.

extra long cosy dressing gown.
perfume
a cleaner for a day and a voucher to have the carpets cleaned.
a robot hoover.

So basically I want to look groomed, with nice clothes and a clean house.

I would like to have Christmas Day with all my family (now grown and flown and moved away) so it is difficult to co-ordinate with everyone's work holiday rotas / OHs etc. The last time we were all together was about 5 years ago.

A couple of outfits which fit to perfection and make me look stunning and gorgeous. Failing that, a sewing machine and the accompanying talent for using it.

Someone miraculously able to draft-proof, energy-efficiency-improve and generally warm up the house. Failing that, a custom-designed heating system for my toes.

A troupe of faeries to come and do a thorough deeeeeeeep clean and declutter of the house. Failing that, some motivation of my own.

A self-mowing lawn. Failing that, a better lawnmower.

A couple of new cookbooks (have mum who knows about that sort of thing)

Some of the pricier pieces from website-dedicated-to-hobby (DH might, if I show him where to click)

A cuddle from my daughter - the best (late) Christmas present ever.

But I get the best present in the world, and that is to share Christmas with family and loved friends, something for which I am forever grateful.

For Christmas I'd like to avoid having half the family who turn up with nothing and then seem surprised we haven't got certain things in. Also, I'd like someone to keep me company while I'm doing all the washing and drying up afterwards. I've got no chance of this, do I'd like:

ooh SUNDAY those things are lovely, you'd better get a move on buying them, now the whole of mumsnets had a look I bet they'll be sold out soon.
And SAHM how rubbish is that, have you told everybody you want a present. You need to start training the kids though. take them shopping somewhere reasonable eg wilko, give them a fiver and tell them to buy you a nice surprise present and no they cant spend the change on themselves. they can take it home and wrap it and you still get a surprise. OK you have to engineer the present giving it but you teaching them to think about you which is important. And if you repeat that at every occasion eg mothers day, birthday you will have set a behaviour pattern in place..

To the lady who said she would like her IVF to work (sorry I can't find your name), good luck. I hope it does.

I hope everyone gets all their important Christmas wishes.

My main one is I would like my son to be excited about Christmas. I would like him to start having a concept of Father Christmas and to be excited when he sees his stocking and wrapped gifts. I would like him to love one of his presents.

He is 3 years and a half but autistic so has a functioning age of 21 months. So for that reason I think might have to wait a few Christmasses before that happens. If he is excited about one of his gifts though I will be over the moon.

My annual pre-Chanukah junk food shop DH doesn't buy me any presents, he just takes me to the supermarket and I can buy what ever junk food I like

If I could ONLY have one thing, it would be for DH not to find a reason to go into a big mood and ruin the day. ....which has happened for the past 16 Christmases.

We do a £2 jar throughout the year and usually have £180 - £200 to spend between us (DH, DS.DD and myself)
I put it into DH account and he buys something online for himself.
The DC and I take the money in cash.
The Golden Rule is - it must be spent, gloriously and frivalously squandered.

(DD usually buys clothes, DS something from Game)

Me, no idea as yet but I'm, thinking.

A Uniqlo down coat (though I look "pouffy" according to DD )
Boots Advent Calender (though I reckon that should be a deffo not a fantasy)

As I will be 37 weeks pregnant this Christmas all I want is to enjoy Christmas at home and have a nice rest. Rather than travel across the Pennines in the middle of winter and spend several days with my stress inducing PIL
