I reckon he would never have told us. The problem being though is what if something like that was to happen again? Yesterday, nobody knew what was wrong. We all thought his heart had stopped.

It's a tough one - I've never had a low blood sugar where I've needed any help (are you sure his blood sugar was high, not low?) so I can excuse myself to the loo if I start to feel a bit iffy and scoff some glucose tablets in there. But what if I did have a bad hypo??

It's a difficult one to get into conversation as well without making it sound like you are at death's door.

I think he was high. He just fell to the floor. In the middle of teaching. The students screamed. I was just next door and heard but its scary.

In my last job I never told any of the staff I had type 1....the students knew but I was worried they wouldn't have hired me!!!

Had this guy not told anyone? How did the paramedics find out?!

accidentprawn · 20/03/2012 17:46

He had an SOS talisman on his neck. All the other teachers in the department are female and didnt want to look! I wish i had looked because i could have helped - i can give insulin and test blood ive seen DN do it!

I never carry ID like that! Weird how he collapsed without warning...are they sure it was his levels?!

accidentprawn · 20/03/2012 20:38

They have run tests on the heart etc. He is saying it is his levels but I have wondered if it is something else.

accidentprawn · 22/03/2012 15:48

How are you paddy

paddyclamp · 22/03/2012 23:16

Pretty good at the minute Prawn! How about you? No more broken bones I hope?! How about your DN and that guy?

accidentprawn · 25/03/2012 18:51

Dn is alright at the moment. The guy is alright. We live very close and i popped in to see him. He is in bed, they are very worried though, i don`t think the doctors are 100% sure it was levels.

paddyclamp · 27/03/2012 11:42

have they checked his heart? kidneys etc?

paddyclamp · 02/04/2012 18:55
