@Chickapea77 i sobbed yesterday my daughter has a chromosome deletion and was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2020.. she has a severe learning and disability delay and all the information I provided I truly believe she should of got HRC. The educational psychologist said she’s at a year 1 level and she’s in year 8. Worst part is I hate claiming of her disability so left it for nearly 3 years before doing a change of circumstances.. I’m not one of those that will exaggerate her health like some for money! It’s infuriates me! :(

I really feel for you, our families go through so much, dealing with school and daily life, trying to give them the chance to experience activities that other people take for granted… the constant worry about what the future may hold for them, who will care for them when we can’t!
For me, asking for a review was something I didn’t even have time to think about when he has not even had access to education because the LEA completely dismissed our concerns about the unsuitable provision they offered him, let alone the lockdown years which deprived our kids of so much.
It will probably be up to the DM at the end of the day, they are never going to experience the hardship and the heartbreak.
I really hope whoever looks back at your claim is able to understand the situation a bit better. Chin up 😘

Do they just make up as they go to get callers off their back? I haven’t called, not sure I will… it was well over an hour when I called for the form, get anxious just thinking about it!

Destiny35 · 29/02/2024 13:59

Honestly wish they had an online system to check the progress of applications . Would make life so much easier.
I’m not going to ring now for a couple of weeks.
My second born gets Pip enhanced C/M now and I remember his Dla years ago took around 6weeks for a decision it’s crazy waiting times now and different things said from different call handlers is super stressful.
I didnt send a lot of evidence just from ALNco therapist his IEP and what I had written but he is also now home schooled on a Grasp programme.
Honestly deflating 🤯

Scan date 27/10 Awarded HRC and Low Mobility 12year old undiagnosed autism. He is home schooled so no evidence just my explanation. He hasnt been seen for an autism assessment yet been waiting 14 months so far. But literally had no evidence. I explained how he is extreamly anxious in public spaces and refuses to walk, which is why i home school, he has severe constipation due to limited diet and selective mutism. I Cant believe it, i was totally expecting a decline never mind high rate!

Oh wow gives me so much hope my 13 year old is very much like this and I home school him aswell have for nearly 4 years now, waiting in more assessments coming up in march xx

Mumzieof1 · 29/02/2024 14:09

My MR has not been awarded! The fight continues for me.
Only advice I'd give is be careful amount of times you ring, I rang last Friday 23rd Feb to check they received extra evidence, the lady said it's been 9 weeks so shes going to email the MR team to chase it as it werent even with a DM.
I rang this morning to let them know an appointment and she advised me it was declined on 23rd Feb, the day I last rang. Even though its meant to be with a DM for a couple of weeks as they're meant to go through all the evidence I was advised. They made a quick decision, which I think that email prompt that.
Goodbluck everyone.

Oooh I’m hoping that this date means the same all round! I rang on Friday and wasn’t given much info at all. I’ve not bothered calling since. I got a text on Monday to say it’s still being looked at. Did you get a text? Keep me updated on your your progress (15/11 too) x

MrsW12 · 29/02/2024 14:17

I will find out her secondary school tomorrow too, so I’m super anxious at the moment 😩 x

Edited

@MrsW12 we have the same scan date I was told mine was still in a holding queue today🙄

Shall89 · 29/02/2024 14:36

scan date 10/11, phoned yesterday and he said you’re in the ‘first holding pile’ and when I asked what that means he said it’s the next pile to be looked at next month and call back end of march if no news.

MrsW12 · 29/02/2024 14:40

It’s so obvious that they are telling different people different things in no particular order. I 100% understand how busy they are and they must have thousands upon thousands to get through. But it’s frustrating how there seems to be no order. With my anxiety issues, I’d rather have a clear understanding of what’s going on. It’s the unknown that’s driving me mad!

Blimey!!! No system at all then! I wasn’t given anything on Friday. Just possibly the middle of March x

What’s your scan date out of interest? I wonder if they ask for evidence near the beginning or end x

Gemmaoscar · 29/02/2024 15:00

What number do they call off? Had a random mobile number x

I'm absolutely dreading it! I keep checking the website just incase they've uploaded it early.
I even laid in bed last night thinking, what if they've forgotten it's a leap year.
I actually feel sick with the worry.
We are massively out of catchment for the school I really want. Midnight can't come quick enough x
