06/11 - so deflated, just got through to a lovely guy, a decision was made today, its been declined, basically they've contacted school and school have told them that she is no different to any other child at the school. I feel like the school have blocked me at every point in the last 3 years. He's put in for a MR and I should draft a letter and send in every report and letter I've had for her.

Omg schools mine was the same for my middle son a few years ago the same son who now attends an autism school and is bloody thriving. Don't ever give up!!!!

thanks, I can't give up, I'm the only one fighting for her, the even more annoying thing is her head of year hasn't even had a conversation with her. The problem I now face is the MR will take about 11 weeks judging by comments on here and by then she will have turned 16 so no doubt will need to go through all of this with PIP, we went for an interview for college recently and the guy we spoke to when we told him about our suspicions promised to help us push for an assessment, knowing what I know now, looking back the signs were there when she was little and no one picked up on it.

Has anyone had another form in the post for mobility after getting awarded for MRC

Has anyone had another form in the post for mobility after getting awarded for MRC

My eldest was awarded HRC when she was 4. When she was 5 they wrote to me to see if I wanted to apply for mobility. We did and had more evidence by then so she got LRM and they also extended the HRC award for several more years.

Scan date 3/11.. Just rang and it's with a dm since yesterday.. 🙏 Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting

Did they make a decision? If so, how long until the backdated payment went into your account? My son was award Thursday. Wondering how long until the payment will hit my account X

susansaucepan · 09/03/2024 18:17

@Getoutgetout their initial decision letter said that as he is 4 that I need to reply for mobility when he is 5 and that I would get a letter closer to date . I thought fair enough.

But now this new pack arrives out the blue for mobility . Explicitly stating that I need to get it back to them by the 9th of April ? But his 5th birthday is more than 6 months away . So if under 5s can't claim mobility and what is the point of this form ? And why the rush to get it back to them ?

It will probably be backseat of the time it takes to process everything so that by the time he is 5 it should be done.

My renewal is due in June and they sent all the forms last month for me to do because of the time it can take.
Fill them in asap and get them back so there us no delay in the award if you are awarded mobility

Sarahdestiny · 09/03/2024 21:27

@Getoutgetout
They send out the forms 6 months before their birthday for mobility because of how long it takes for a decision x

Sarahdestiny · 09/03/2024 21:28

My son is 2 and in June they said they will send forms out 6 months before he turns 3 for mobility x

Lisa3kids · 11/03/2024 09:52

anybody know how long MR are taking been waiting very patiently but only been 3 weeks feels forever after waiting 28 weeks for initial decision

Hood1991 · 11/03/2024 10:01

@Lisa3kids about 2 months apparently

Lisa3kids · 11/03/2024 10:27

@Hood1991 Still a while to go then

MC2180 · 11/03/2024 20:37

@Asdmomof2

hi I done a MR back in November
still kep there decision the same
Then iv gone to tribunal dla had till 4 of march to reply still nothing has this happen to any 1

Asdmomof2 · 11/03/2024 20:40

@MC2180 hi hun I had to take my youngest to tribunal however DLA rang up 2 days after and overturned the decision from MRC to HRC My oldest was overturned at MR stage from LRM to HRM. But I do know if the dwp don’t respond contact tribunal the DWP will probably be given a 28 day extension and they usually then reply within that new time frame they can also overturn there decision any time up to tribunal date so if you have any new evidence always update the courts x

Asdmomof2 · 11/03/2024 20:45

@Lisa3kids hi hun both of mine took between 8/9 weeks x

Lisa3kids · 11/03/2024 20:47

@Asdmomof2 Did you get the result you were fighting for x

Asdmomof2 · 11/03/2024 20:49

@Lisa3kids my oldest I did at MR stage my youngest I did take to tribunal but literally 2 days after I put it in the DWP rang me to overturn the decision x

claire2024 · 13/03/2024 17:06

Mummytotwinsandsome · 17/03/2024 08:59

Hiya just wondering if anyone knows timescale for uc to back date disabled child element ?I got awarded hrc lrm in February backdated to October let uc know my payment changed within a week however they said for back date gone to desion maker as it was 4 months before I reported explained it took so long as I was awaiting a desion to be made by dla and informed them as soon as I knew he was awarded but haven’t heard anything and it’s 4 weeks on Tuesday it’s been with uc dm. Thanks x

Hi I done mine through my jornal , the lady looking after my uc is really nice! Just explain the reason why it’s took thing long (as I did) mine is getting backdated from November! I did have to report a change with child etc but they was quick dealing with it and getting back to me x

Mummytotwinsandsome · 17/03/2024 11:54

I did this and apparently it had to go to a dm I told them I couldn’t tell them any sooner as was waiting for award but it’s been with him 4 weeks next week and just keep getting told there isn’t a timescale 🤦‍♀️

Mummytotwinsandsome · 17/03/2024 12:10

So I’ve literally just received a letter on my journal saying they are granting back date but it doesn’t say when or how they will pay it ? How long did you have to wait and what was the process after they granted your backdate ?

Thewondererhasreturned · 17/03/2024 17:45

@Mummytotwinsandsome can I just check what you have to tell uc? I have applied for dla for my son only sent letter off about 3 weeks ago but they are processing the claim. Do you have to notify uc you have done this and then if you get awarded the backdate the disabled child element? Not sure how it works I didn't even know you could do this. thanks
