@sjm100 no way that’s not fair did u have any supportin evidence? I’m guessing school aren’t supporting you it’s so unfair x

STEPH691 · 04/03/2024 10:41

@sjm100 ahh am so sorry to hear this. How awful of the school to even say that. Xx

OP posts:
sjm100 · 04/03/2024 10:44

@Gemmaoscar not really, only what I do for her to get her through the day, the initial assessment with cahms, the woman said she could see ND traits and we should ask the school for a consultation with the ND team but because she was already due to see cahms for Emotional and well being support they declined my request. So they've literally blocked me at every chance of getting her the help she needs.

sjm100 · 04/03/2024 10:44

honestly I feel like crying.

Gemmaoscar · 04/03/2024 10:45

@sjm100 the system is a mess did you get anyone to fill the part out of someone who knows ur child? Schools are awful they should be supporting you x

yes, there is one teacher there her english teacher who when she spoke to her about thinking she had asd/adhd her teacher said ah that makes a lot of sense, so 1 teacher in a whole school, I've spoken to her head of year about things at home when trying to get her on the ND pathway but its like they don't see it so its not an issue

Does anyone know if the coc are still taking 26+ weeks? I'm hoping I hear from new claim soon so I'm not going to ring (scanned on the 9th Nov) but my daughter's coc was scanned 28th Nov and not seen many comments about them? Well done to all so far and good luck to everyone waiting x

I am waiting on a CoC at the moment. Called 19/12 and had first letter 15/01. Second letter last week saying it will be 15 weeks, so they have added 4 from initial letter. I thought they would be quicker with these but it doesn’t look that way! 26 weeks though???? 😱😱😱

Lauzyparkzy · 04/03/2024 12:06

Hi I'm new to all this. I've just done my sons renewal and spent over an hour getting through to make sure forms are back. Do they stop payments if the decision goes over the original end date does anyone know?

Amytate · 04/03/2024 12:09

That message is because the rates are changing from April not specific to your claim x

KateKing · 04/03/2024 12:47

Scan date 31/10
was with a DM last week
called today and have been awarded last Thursday. Told to expect payment in my account by this Wednesday
no text received , although I did request
at long last it’s over! 😊

XxNatty1xX · 04/03/2024 13:05

Hi all , my scan date was 8/11.
Received 1 letter and 1 text. I called last Monday just before 16 weeks. Spoke with a very unhelpful woman who didn’t really say much except for it’s taking 16 week.
left it and called back today spoke to a really lovely woman and she said my son was awarded on the 2nd should have back pay by 5th.
Hopefully not long now for all the early November and previous months people! Good Luck and I hope all your children get what they deserve 🤞🏼🤞🏼⭐️❤️

Hi can anyone advise the number to call. I’m dialling 0800 121 4600 as I want to know if they’ve received my forms and I’m getting an automated response saying a letter with the amount of benefit I will receive will be sent by the end of April. If I choose to hold none of the options to select would get me through to an advisor for DLA. Am I dialling the wrong number or doing something wrong?

Just seen the above response to same query about the end of April automated response. Ignore me! And it’s option 5 😊

It seems it’s definitely 15 weeks that we get the text

I’m on week 17 and still no text. I think I’m going to bite the bullet and ring whilst my little man naps.

penelopesmam · 04/03/2024 19:58

I have the same scan date and got a text last week. Do you have anymore updates? X

sjm100 · 04/03/2024 10:44

honestly I feel like crying.

Aw I feel awful for you, all that wait for a decline must be awful. I hope your MR goes well, I also have a feeling mine will be a decline as your situation sounds like mine. I didn’t get anyone from school to fill the form in because school just don’t support me at all. My son masks massively at school and he was finally referred for autism assessment last week, he has an inclusion service go in once a week to work with him and he has selective mutism and anxiety. But I honestly feel it will be a decline and I’ve got weeks and weeks to wait yet, I really couldn’t imagine how you must feel after waiting all that time 😩

sjm100 · 04/03/2024 21:17

@MrsRawl I got to be honest, I was gutted, one of her teachers filled out the someone who knows them part but they obviously didnt speak to that person when they contacted the school, I havent seen the decline reasons yet but from what the guy I spoke to read out to me, the dm mentioned a professional person proving a diagnosis more than once and the the school said they dont need to give her more support than the average pupil, Ive been begging the school to help since 2022 and they have blocked every avenue Ive tried. Hopefully the next dm who looks at the mr will actually take in to consideration the 3 pages of what I do extra for her so she can function in school as well as she does. Its an uphill battle but now Ive had time to think my mind is clearer.

Aw that’s such a shame. I had to threaten my sons school with further action if I wasn’t listened too, and that seemed to work, i obviously don’t know your full situation and if you’ve tried that already but worth a go. I seen the school senco eventually on Friday and she was so apologetic after me showing her video recordings of my son at home. We shouldn’t have to do that for our kids though. I’m glad your minds clearer and wish you every luck for your MR. X

I was lucky the guy I spoke to yesterday read out the reasons to me and the DM who made the decision kept mentioning that there was no diagnosis and no evidence of a diagnosis, I think the lovely guy I spoke to felt it as well which was why he said he would place it in mr for someone else to look at. Good luck with your MR

Hi just been looking through the thread my forms were received back on 31/10 but I’ve not heard a thing since apart from the letter to say say received the form back on 31th October I’m to scared to call up though 😔

Laurenvik · 05/03/2024 13:24

Hi.
Could someone help me.
Iv been waiting since the 4th October scan date.
Iv rang its still with a descision maker. They have been trying to contact school for 6 weeks. No one is getting back in touch.
School said they have had no emails or calls or letters.
Iv rang back checked all the details.
These forms were sent in on the 3rd September.
How long do they have to make a deacusuon.

My son has asd adhd dispraxia and a Auditory processing disorder.
Iv had to give up my job. I just feel like I'm hitting a brick wall.
I sent over 50 pages of evidence in.
