Hi all. Does anyone know how long after receiving a text saying your child qualifies does a payment go into your bank? Thanks in advance.

Hiya, my son was awarded Thursday 22nd Feb. I called yesterday and was told a payment would be authorised today, I assumed I’d get payment 2-3 days after they authorised but the money was in my account today :)
hope this helps.

@Charmazing thankyou, that’s a good point I think I will, try and turn my brain off this week! Will keep you updated 🤞🏻 xx

That was me last week!!!
I switched off completely just felt so deflated from it all, then yesterday I checked this thread and saw people calling and being awarded.
Did you receive a txt at 15 weeks?

my5to1 · 27/02/2024 15:54

@Charmazing it really is so much isn’t it! Trying to stay patient is the hardest thing, yes got the text on the 12th feb so just over two weeks ago so yeah week 15, did you as well? It’s crazy how they work through it x

Good luck, my scan date is 9th Nov for new claim and 28th Nov for change of circumstances so I'm hoping the end is in sight at least for one of my twins. I was going to call today to add more info but I bottled it, I think I will call Tomo just in case 🤞

I received a text yesterday saying they are still looking at the claim and will confirm the decision once ones been made in writing no need to call. Has anyone else received a text like this. Does this text mean I'll receive a decision soon? On week 15

Edited

From my experience and what I’ve seen of others recently, at 15 weeks they seem to send that text . X

I know! It makes me wonder if the date you rang for the forms and if you get them in before the deadline makes any difference to time scale. Also, I would presume if they have to speak to doctors, schools etc and how quickly they reply before DM can decide can hold them up too.

@Leopardprintleelan On the forms if you call for them it says the date you called and the return by date, it also says that if you return them by that date then they will treat them as if they were sent in on the call date.

So in theory the call date should be the working scan date. In practise it looks like they sometimes get seen a bit sooner, but not always, and rarely in line with the call date.

Everyone I have seen on these threads with mid Nov decisions called for forms.

Natbat87 · 27/02/2024 16:27

Currently on hold - 52 mins in.
15 weeks yesterday, scan 13/11.
Will update if I actually manage to get through before they close!

eatdrinkandbemerry · 27/02/2024 16:30

My scan data was 4/11 and I was awarded two weeks ago.
They backpayed 26 weeks because it took them ages to send the form and six weeks to scan it onto the system .
Ive received another letter today to say my child doesn't qualify for dla 😳
I couldn't get through on the phone it kept cutting off but I'm hoping that the letter is an error because I've already received the backpay and award letter 😳😳😳😳🤔

I got through eventually and spoke to a really helpful lady that said it is in the last stages of the holding pile and will be assigned to a decision maker imminently. It should be no more than 2 weeks for a decision as they are working at 16-17 weeks. Fingers crossed 🤞

Thanks for the update - you're the same scan date as me.

I don't think I have the nerves nor patience to call!

Mamoftads3 · 27/02/2024 18:05

I've been reading through the threads, thought I'd drop in to say my scan date was 9/11, so 16 weeks on Thursday coming, I rang today it took me 1hr 35mins to get through and the lovely lady on the phone said that it's in a holding pile or something, they're aiming at having forms with DM's by the 17th week, so she said mine should be with a DM next week and then a week or 2 later would be when I'd know.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the disabled element of universal credit to be verified? The carers element was verified soon as I did the COC but not the disabled ?

Since you're the first I've seen mention the 2 elements can I ask something. I'm having to move over to UC tomorrow. Do I claim these 2 things as I have 2 disabled children on DLA but honestly have no idea how UC works. I know people say ring citizens advice but I struggle to speak to people 🥺
I'm so full of anxiety and worry at not knowing what on earth I'm meant to be doing with UC 😢🤦🏻‍♀️
Thank you for any help I really do appreciate it xx

yes I received the message at 15 weeks
I could be wrong but think at 16 weeks goes to DM, week 17 a decision is made in time for a payment at 18 weeks…
I think having all my evidence from assessments and a diagnosis which was only sent off in Dec and January has helped in my situation. but I’ve also seen people without evidence being awarded too… honestly it makes no sense at all!!!! But on a a positive note it really looks like a lot of awards at 18 weeks :)

Marie156 · 27/02/2024 20:23

@TamGirl89 hi, yes if you have disabled children in receipt of DLA care component then they would be entitled to the disabled element of uc. Carers element only if they get the highest or middle rate of dla care component I believe. Hope that helps

bonz2023 · 27/02/2024 20:25

@STEPH691 @mummyof3girlsx someone on a previous thread only posted their forms end of November and has been awarded 😂 the mind boggles

mummyof3girlsx · 27/02/2024 20:34

@bonz2023 @STEPH691 honestly im so over it now 😭 I’m just trying to forget about it 🙈 it’s ruling my life at this point, I’m a mum of 3 I have things to do 🤣🤣

Shaf89 · 27/02/2024 20:40

They were slow through September… whizzed through October and now slowed down again for the November lot… thought if they keep their momentum going us November lot would have got awards quite quickly!

Shaf89 · 27/02/2024 20:40

22/11 here… patiently sitting tight 😅
