@Keddie have u not heard anything yet omg! We was awarded 31st January so updated and nothing, joke isn't it x

Gracie1909 · 26/02/2024 10:02

Does anyone know if payment is 4 weeks from award date or 4 weeks from payment hitting. ? X

SL93 · 26/02/2024 10:04

Our decision is supposed to be made in 4 weeks time. But I have called this morning to ask if they will be returning my son’s birth certificate. They wrote out and asked for it about a month ago and I sent it straight away along with the most significant piece of evidence I had to support the claim. They have said they cannot find his birth cert on the system, but they haven’t wrote out to me since asking for it again. The woman I spoke to wasn’t very helpful when I was asking what will happen now they don’t have the evidence or the birth cert, as this will affect my claim. She basically couldn’t answer and said ring back mid week to see if it’s there yet even though she admitted it should really be on there by now so she just wanted me off the phone. Has anyone else had anything like this?

Thanks for the update, keeping everything crossed for you ❤️

I’ve just managed to get through.

My Child has been awarded high rate care, I can’t believe it. I really thought we would have a fight on our hands due to his age as he is only 2 and a half but non verbal and on the ASD pathway but no formal diagnosis yet.

For anybody concerned about not sending enough evidence.

The only evidence I sent was a supporting statement written by myself, the nursery Senco filled in the part about someone who knows your child and I had a report from an ASD specialist arranged for by the nursery.

Good luck to you all waiting for your decisions. Xx

Congratulations!!

My youngest son gets HR DLA for autism. First award was for a year, he was diagnosed during that time so when it was time for renewal he now gets HRC until 2031.

So please your little one has got when he's entitled too❤️

rjnicola · 26/02/2024 10:13

1 hour to get through. To be told it is not with a dm/cm yet. My scan date 16/11. The man said the letters they sent out with 15 weeks on ard out of date. He said it as to allocated a DM/cm at 17 weeks. I said well I'm not to know your letter is out of date and l can only go by the information that you send me. I said I don't want to waste my time and there time phoning so can you inform me when a decision as been made. He said he will put a note on my file for the DM/CM to text me when a decision as been made and then l can call them. He said I'm probably looking at the middle of march now. Give up with it all tbh 🤦🤷

MadHouse24 · 26/02/2024 10:19

I have 3 daughters, our eldest is 14 and diagnosed with ADHD and they told us at her assessment that she needs assessing for ASD but there is no way I can put her through it as she won’t cope emotionally with it. Our 12 year old is diagnosed with ADHD, she shows no signs of ASD at all. We then have our 6 year old that I believe has adhd and is being assessed in 24th March and is waiting an ASD assessment date. I’m confident she has both as it is likely history repeating itself, she is a clone of our eldest! The issue I have is she masks at school and then comes home every day having an emotional explosion and then shows full signs at home and requires a lot of extra care. She has shown signs at school when routine changes etc but day to day she doesn’t. They have observed her and can see signs in her small movements that she is masking. DLA have said that if they are masking at school it’s hard to prove with no care plan etc - has anyone had similar experience and what evidence have you used?

Asdmomof2 · 26/02/2024 10:26

@Emma2345 my little boy has just turned 3 also awaiting an ASD assessment and receives HRC I did have to take it to tribunal last Wednesday after an MR however the decision was overturned by Friday morning. I sent in speech and language report, paedactrics report, inclusion and attendance supporting letter and Senco supporting letter he was originally awarded MRC x

RoseScroller · 26/02/2024 10:31

Emma2345 · 26/02/2024 09:50

@RoseScroller this gives me so much hope my little one is 2 ,, 3 in march and we’re going down asd pathway can I ask what evidence you sent in x

Hi,

At the time that we sent the forms in we were still waiting for our SLT and Paediatric appointments to come through. So I had no reports to send from them.

I got the nursery Senco to fill in the part about someone who knows your child and I wrote a 6 page statement explaining everything as simply and clear as possible.

Also the nursery had arranged for an autism specialist to assess my child so that they could find strategies to help them. The autism specialist produced a report off the back of this and I sent this in about 6 weeks after I send the initial form in.

I was expecting the claim to get rejected, I’m so shocked to have been awarded high rate care.

Good luck ❤️

@MadHouse24 I have only sent in my own supporting information as my daughter masks at school, and this is the reason why she's not yet on the ASD / ADHD pathway. I put extra information for every nearly every question ie. what it takes to get her in the bath, to take medication, to tidy her room, to get her to eat etc, although she does have one teacher who sees her social awkwardness and her slight differences that she can't mask in school, and this teacher wrote in the person who knows her bit. Any extra information you send in will help. x

Nothing at all, I called on Friday and they said still being calculated. At least I know its going to happen (Unlike DLA) Its just frustrating to have to wait all the time with no communication. If we owed them we would hear from them then ! lol x

Thank you. I am just panicking as my 14 year old was only awarded LRC last week which really took me back as she has full diagnosis and I put in so many examples of day and night care she requires plus mobility examples as her road safety is horrific because she has little sense of danger and is away with the fairies! I called to do a MR and the guy was really nice but said it’s hard to evidence when they mask at school as they determines their care needs. I’m just trying to send in more evidence for my youngest before it is reviewed but I don’t really have much other than the fact is she being assessed and an observation letter from school detailing small things that are masking traits.

Lolly966 · 26/02/2024 10:41

14 weeks today and literally just got my first text of DWP saying “ we’re still looking at your child’s claim” the waiting is sooo long😩

xxAmy · 26/02/2024 10:46

I’m on week 14 today and just got the same text as Lolly, also my 1st text but I have had 2 letters. My text message says they will send the decision in writing… is that the standard text? I prefer them to text it to me tbh to make the wait feel a little shorter xx

MrsW12 · 26/02/2024 10:46

15 weeks on Wednesday. I literally just received my first text saying we are still looking at your claim. People who have received a text (after 2 letters and close to 15 weeks), how long after the text did you get a decision?

MrsW12 · 26/02/2024 10:49

Mine says in writing too

STEPH691 · 26/02/2024 10:51

@bonz2023 i gave in and called couldn’t help myself. He said it should be with decision maker this week. So hopefully the end is near for us. 😁😁

Dollysmum37 · 26/02/2024 10:54

On uc do you put that you want it back dating to the date dla was awarded? So confusing all this 🙈

RainsbowandBunnies · 26/02/2024 10:55

@Mummybabies2 sorry that you are feeling stressed (virtual hug)
Just wanted to let you know updated UC 14th Feb had the acknowledgement letters 16th, elements were added to this months statement 19th, had a phone call 22nd they told me the backpay and it arrived today. I requested the COL 23rd. I did have to chase it up as they tried to say not entitled to anything
Hope it gets sorted for you xx

my5to1 · 26/02/2024 10:57

@MrsW12 i had two letters one nov one end of dec, 1 text exactly two weeks ago today and heard nothing, scan date 1/11

MrsW12 · 26/02/2024 11:06

Oh blimey. It’s nuts isn’t it. I rang on Friday evening and got a text this morning. I wonder if that’s just pure coincidence though x

Jesspa · 26/02/2024 11:08

coming up to 18 weeks scan date 26th October - question is do I have the guts to call this week or do I bottle it again because I dont want to hear any bad news its been rejected?? Seems so many November dates being done I dont have much hope left

xxAmy · 26/02/2024 11:12

I’m wondering if we get text messages when they pick our claim up to send to DM/CM?

my youngest has been on DLA for 4 years now and Iv never received a text message for him before I’m not sure it was a thing back then

RainsbowandBunnies · 26/02/2024 11:27

@MadHouse24 Hey my DC is 11 soon but had issues since 3, Gp did referral in 2019 schools delayed assessment said nothing wrong and have done this to many children at the school. So waited 4 years to be assessed with ADHD and ASD got the appointments in Sept/Oct was diagnosed verbally first meeting before even having assessment with the psychologist that's how obvious it is.
With the form I just sent referral letters then after I sent a hefty diagnosis report and ironically IEP report form school (helpful to show they contradict themselves)
Verbally just updated about SS assessment, EHCP, awaiting meds apps everything I thought was relevant really!
Awarded HRC LRM which I was so shocked not to fight for but tbh there is high needs at home and has been all these years. The next challenge is secondary this year 🥹
I hope you get the best outcome possible xx

MadHouse24 · 26/02/2024 11:35

@RainsbowandBunnies congratulations on getting your award! Honestly, I cannot believe how stressful it all is. I would so much rather have a call with the DM so they can ask questions etc as it is also really hard when you live with it all day every day and all 3 of our children are the same so it’s just life for us now, albeit so tough as they all need so much more from us. I find that because they mask at school, they actually need more care at home as they are releasing all their emotions etc that they fight to hold in all day they are just exploding at home.
