Wow my neighbours daughter been awarded her scan date was 10/12 so quick. My scan date 29/11 had 2 letters so far. X

Daniellemcm · 13/02/2024 20:23

@Petal45 was your neighbours a renewal I highly doubt they have awarded new claim from December unless it’s been applied for under special rules they are currently working on October dates for new claims x

Was a new claim and wasn't under special rules, guess she was just very lucky...

did she ring in before that to receive the form?

marikops · 14/02/2024 08:01

First post here but been lurking for a while. Just woke up to a back payment, nothing in post so far. Had rung a month ago and they had said it would be looked at mid February. Scan date 12/10

We have a confirmed ASD diagnosis, had sent about 50 pages of medical reports etc. Looks like we got HCC and LMC. After the uphill battle we have faced with the diagnosis, it is nice to finally be given a helping hand. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Remember it’s the time you’ve waited but the date you ordered the form is the back payment start date. For us it was 31st August so we just got 24 weeks back payment

That’s useful to know, thank you x

Journeytosober · 14/02/2024 11:08

Just spoke to a really helpful person. We’ve been awarded HRC and LRM (questionable but after 20 weeks I’m glad just to have a decision!)

Until June 2028. I’m glad I won’t have to go through this for another 4 years, it’s been a very stressful process

scan date 27/09

Sarahdestiny · 06/02/2024 15:14

@Jonesy0102 yes it's good he's got an award but I will fight for what he should get as I also have another son adhd/autism and he gets a higher rate and is the same as my boy who's just got middle also it isn't just the rate its the length of time he's been awarded thanks

Did you start the MR process at all did you use the form write a letter or both
thanks

Sarahdestiny · 14/02/2024 12:10

@Jonesy0102 hi I've wrote a letter about 20 to 30 pages long still trying gather the rest of my evidance and waiting for the decision oetter stating why he was awarded MRC also a 7 day diary day & night needs hopefully sending it off Friday depends if the letter comes in time x

Ok thanks definitely send yours special delivery that way you know the date they’ve received it they delay the letter coming out as it chips in to the 28 days you have to do the MR x

Sarahdestiny · 14/02/2024 14:18

@Jonesy0102 yh I will do thanks will let you no how I get on the reason for middle car is that apparently he only needs help with bodily functions in the day at short period of time which is not true at all don't think they ever read my evidance as hes in nappys and has night sleep issues and gets up all through night also wont settle for hours n once wakens through the night it takes so long try re settle him once hits 4am hes awake ready for the day also suffers with severe constipation day and night needs are constant hes Non verbal and won't tell me if he's weed or poor I have to check continously hoping I've got a good chance if not il go to tribunal as I have evidance of day and night needs lol x

Geegee1506 · 15/02/2024 08:34

Hi I wondered if anyone has had Carers Allowance backdated for more than 3 months?? I've had a payment in my bank today which looks like 8 months of CA (back to when my son was awarded)
I'm not sure if this is an error ?

eves93 · 18/02/2024 10:54

For those that have been awarded & got your back pay.. Why do you then ring for rates, instead of just waiting for the letter that arrives within a week or so?🤷🏻‍♀️ You’ve been awarded, received back pay & it’s another 4 weeks until the next payment, so plenty of time for the letter to come.. Or you can do the maths & work it out by dividing your back pay by how many weeks you were waiting🙄 Why clog the already jam packed phone line even more, stopping those who need to report changes etc from getting through🫣

My 8yo was originally awarded MRC & LRM in 2022 & I’ve just sent off his renewal, which is due in May🙂 I sent off upwards of 50 pieces of evidence & there is more incoming & needing to be sent off😭

The evidence provided this time will likely get him awarded HRC & HRM🤞🏽 And his consultant has made it clear in her letter that both his bowel condition & behavioural issues are both ‘significant’ & ‘longstanding’. I made sure I highlighted this in the evidence, in the hopes they award him for longer than 2 years at a time, because it’s such a tiring process!🤧

If you are a renewer like me, make sure you send in your old evidence too, as this shows whether the condition is improving, remaining the same or worsening🙃

Tiredmummy1235 · 18/02/2024 11:00

@eves93 people ring because there is a delay in the postage at the moment told by DLA it’s taking three weeks plus to receive letter. Also people need to update UC plus other benefits. 😀

eves93 · 18/02/2024 11:24

@Tiredmummy1235 yes, but you’re normally awarded from when you sent the forms in.. Therefore you update your other benefits eg UC & CA from that date🙂 A 3 week wait for a letter isn’t long compared to the wait you’ve just had for the award🫣 Plus the other benefits will back date it..

I personally just don’t think it’s right all these people ringing to chase their claims & find out the rates awarded etc🤷🏻‍♀️ Unless you’ve gone past the 20 weeks which they advise for new claims, then why do you need to call?🙄 Eg with renewals.. They’re normally done the week before expiry- my Son isn’t due until May. So I won’t chase until the 1st June.

Tiredmummy1235 · 18/02/2024 12:54

@eves93 your awarded sometimes from the date you rang for claim. Some people forget the date they have rang in. Some people have learning difficulties and find it hard to calculate what the award is. Chasing claims aswell because people get told 15 weeks wait. The anxiety of waiting drives you insane. Not being horrible or negative but as I have been told that’s what they are there for to answer enquiry’s. I personally wouldn’t say anyone clogs up phone lines as it’s for there child. If you can hold out on the not knowing good on you 😀

Emma2345 · 18/02/2024 13:31

@eves93 to change bank details excetra their is a different option for that as when you ring it says if your ringing to change bank details or other details please press option 1 for example ,,, their is different options for different things and different call handlers for the different departments so someone checking what they was awarded doesn’t affect someone ringing up to change details also some people may not have the capacity to read letters and understand them so hearing it explained to them makes it more understandable for them

Thenoseymother · 22/02/2024 00:12

Hi, has anyone else who was awarded in January not received their award letter yet? We were awarded 26/01 and still no letter. How long does it usually take? Thanks ☺️
