Thank you I have sent off letters aswell I just didn’t know it would be useful to send off email conversations with the struggles I have faced , and also confirmation of letters of places of support I have been asked to contact ?

TamGirl89 · 28/01/2024 15:13

I'm so worried looking at people's messages here that unless you have substantial evidence etc you don't stand a chance!
My son is diagnosed ASD and ADHD and has mobility problems with his feet. I've sent off what I can but I'm so stressed and unbelievably anxious waiting feeling like I haven't done what others have and therefore it'll be a decline! 😢
Sent forms on the 3/10 😢

Ashh1998 · 28/01/2024 15:15

@FlutterByASD I phoned on the Wednesday that week and the claim was still waiting to be seen by a DM so I figured I'd go for it. Might be worth doing if your claim isn't with DM yet. Absolute best of luck to you! 😁

They actually state that DLA is needs based and not diagnosis based and I have seen other parents who had very little evidence get awards and others with mountains of evidence be refused. I think this entire process makes you second guess everything and is utterly demoralising.

Hi all new here. I applied for my son who is 5 back in October. Scan date 26th oct. He has underdeveloped corpus callosum, has been told by physio he is a typical dyspraxic child but can’t get diagnosis as the underdeveloped corpus callosum overrides this, he has exercises to do daily. Behaviour issues has been assessed for autism and not given diagnosis (we still don’t agree with this) and been told to refer for ADHD. He is also known to feeding team as he chokes on food a lot and are awaiting tests right now. It will be 14 weeks next week since we applied has anyone received any decisions around the same date? Is it worth phoning to chase it up. Had one letter saying they are still looking at his claim. Thanks.

I spoke to them Wednesday morning too and they said it wasn't with a DM yet, I'll double check first and fingers crossed if it's not I'll get it posted tomorrow.

Scan date 5/10 getting anxious now, hoping it won't be too much longer. I didn't think I'd get this nervous waiting!

I couldn't agree more! I've never felt this anxious and sleepless, almost unwell with the waiting! Constantly worrying and wondering if what I've done is enough and adequate enough..

Been silently watching this thread for ages, scan date 26/09 - finally got THE text on Friday!
total of 2 letters and 3 texts (not including the award text)
I’ve not phoned up once but the wait has been killing me.
So happy for my boy, hopefully we can go private for speech & language now (he is pre verbal and on the autism/asd pathway)
Question.. how many days after receiving this text did the payment arrive? Thank you :-)

Congratulations!! It usually takes 3-5 working days for the money to go into your account, so between Wednesday and Friday I'd say. Glad the wait is finally over for you!

I’m getting worried only put what my son is like a letter from the teacher and a letter from the childminder of how he is. It seems unless you have lots of evidence you don’t qualify. I’m waiting for my sons adhd appointment to come through so not hopeful at all 🙃

I am 25/10, 2 letters, no texts still waiting for a decision

My Daughter was awarded last year for ASD & ADHD, the only evidence I had was a private diagnosis letter. I have to say, this thread makes me anxious 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m waiting on a decision for my daughter age 6, for adhd. This thread makes me forget the experience I’ve already had. I wish I didn’t do it to myself but I’m anxiously awaiting a decision. Scan date 3/10

Livd99 · 28/01/2024 18:28

My son has mobility problems he has the shoes and insoles also been told we may qualify for a pram from them. I did call them up to put a note on the system but I haven’t sent any proof will they look at doctors notes or ring them?

Mine was 17 october. Two letters, no texts as yet x

My son is suspected ASD&ADHD. He’s only just turns 2 but the signs are very obvious. We didn’t have any actual evidence at all when we sent the forms off, but I sent them along with his brothers because it made sense. Later on he had been referred and accepted by the CDC. So I sent of those photo copies as well as SALT . Other than than I just did 2-3 hand written pages including a sleep diary . We was awarded on Saturday , unsure of rates until Monday but just so you feel a little less anxious we had barely any evidence.

Franny01 · 28/01/2024 19:44

Got a text today to say son was awarded I sent one piece of evidence that was it! Form received 26/09

It's awful isn't it I think we all look at this thread for comfort and in a way it starts making us feel worse really 😂
I've got everything crossed we both get the outcomes our babies deserve! Xx

I’m the same. Feeling more and more like it’s a decline. I’m 21/09 and I rang last week for the first time and the man I spoke too gave me no information whatsoever. I am going to try again tomorrow morning 9 o’clock on the dot so fingers crossed for an actual update! Good luck tomorrow x

mumto3withasd · 28/01/2024 20:48

I rang last week and was told not to expect to hear anything until the first week of feb, didn’t tell me if I was in a holding queue or with a DM my scan date is 28/9.
