My scan date is28/9 I received a letter today from physio should I send it in as extra evidence or wait I really do think my son will be declined I feel like I’ve been waiting forever

Justanotherboymum89 · 27/01/2024 22:56

Parking back up from previous thread. Scan date 25/10, 2 letters(last one in December) no texts. Sent early help referral and assessment letters and supporting evidence from school senco but nothing else as were undiagnosed yet. ADHD assessment on monday, 2nd one, had one exactly 2 years ago with rude dr and school hadn’t seen signs then so she refused to accept my word, he’s since been suspended 8 times from school and now on a reduced timetable doing the last hour and 45 mins of the day 🙃.

ill carry on lurking now for a few more weeks. Good luck every one

Scan date 12/10, phone call yesterday but not much information was given just that our claim was ‘favourable’. Was told to expect the letter next week and there’s a pending payment into the bank which looks like MRC back payment.

Relieved that the wait is over, good luck for everyone still waiting and hopefully this shows that DWP are catching up!

Congratulations! This is positive! Maybe the FB people are actually telling the truth and things are moving to October. Annoying that so many Septs are still waiting though.
im 13/10… look forward to a decision soon I hope.

Scan date twin.... finally lol

@Jumping85 thank you! We are based in Dorset, yes you might be right about the area

Zolasmommy · 27/01/2024 23:44

@Shaf89 thank you! I hope people are not left waiting too much longer, the lack of contact is nerve wracking. Hopefully now Christmas is out of the way they’re starting to catch up - but there doesn’t seem to be a solid timeline unfortunately

Zolasmommy · 27/01/2024 23:44

@Shaf89 fingers crossed you hear back soon!

JMommy2023 · 28/01/2024 00:12

I am seeing on Facebook awards with late October dates being done now and I am 26/10/23 and I was told it’s still weeks to go on Monday.

Are they lying or what? Because the one I saw was 25/10/23 being awarded.

ItsRalf · 28/01/2024 00:36

I'm 5/10 and nothing yet 😩

ShellyDerbyshire · 28/01/2024 07:18

It does seem odd that anyone from the end of October would already be recieving decisions!

Sent 05/09/23
Scan date 02/10/23

I rang on the 24th of October as hadn't heard anything and was told my scan date and that it would be a 18 week wait. Which I worked out as 5th Feb for a decision.

Had a letter confirming that a few days later.

Also had texts on 5th December text and another on 8th January saying...
"We are still looking at your DLA1 Child claim. When a decision is made we will confirm it in writing. There is no need to contact us about it."

And nothing else yet... but still 8 days until the 18 week mark.

I'm so worried we won't be awarded anything, my daughter is nearly 10, ASD and only on a part time timetable at school.

Hi I’m really trying to get a blue badge for my son but keeps getting rejected. Can you tell me what you sent to receive this please

My scan date is also 28/9. I've received more reports this week too and I'm unsure whether to send or not. I think I'll ring on Monday and ask.

Do you have a DLA claim in? If so, it might be worth seeing what's awarded as higher rate mobility is an automatic entitlement to a blue badge.

For me personally, I applied at the same time and was given a blue badge with a 1 week turnaround with diagnosis letters (Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) and letter from Physiotherapist saying 'regularly struggles to walk 20 metres'

It's going to depend on what the issue is. I didn't have to send evidence of Autism diagnosis for example, as the evidence of physical disability was enough.

jess12345678 · 28/01/2024 07:44

My son get lower mobility but has adhd and autism but got declined when I went in for it x

I think it's really hard to get. My daughter also has Autism and ADHD. Is there anything you can highlight in either report that details either A. They are a flight risk, or B. They get overwhelmed in public / have sensory meltdowns. If so, I'd highlight these as they are probably the crux of why you might need the blue badge in this instance.

Soeey you've been turned down twice. It absolutely sucks having to constantly fight. I think it's only because of the fairly severe physical disability that we got the blue badge. I was dreading having to rely on them understanding the Autism / ADHD side of things, though it really shouldn't be the case!

126t · 28/01/2024 08:33

My scan date is 21/09/23 for coc my child as a blue badge and been assessed for a special car magnetic harness i didn't think about sending them in as i was going to keep them as in case i have to do a mr should i send them in or wait for descion

Each council has different rules. I had to get a professional to fill in a form about her abilities.

Each council has different rules but for us they had a template letter I needed to get filled out by a professional (our school Senco did ours). We applied under the hidden disability criteria.

Mumzieof1 · 28/01/2024 10:42

I applied back in June with my scan date July, I was declined in November stating because my 10yo daughter didn't have a diagnosis of ADHD, I'd refused contact with school only because I worked there also no evidence of support, she'd go to bed early with a better routine and they said yes she has foot pain but she can walk!
I done a MR which they received 21st December also putting in now she's been referred for ASD too and letter from rheumatology and referral for insoles. I've had no acknowledgement of the MR yet, but I am going to ring them Friday when I'm off as now her teacher has said she wants her to go on the SEND register and a pupil profile, so in that it'll state her struggles and the sensory breaks she has too so i can send that off. Just hoping they don't make a decision before then.
My DD is on ADHD & ASD pathways, I'd detailed all the struggles of how ADHD affects her along with her severe constipation, plantarfascitis, ankle problem from an undiagnosed break, anxiety and sensory issues. Hoping for a more understanding DM this time round for MR.

RainsbowandBunnies · 28/01/2024 11:36

@Mumzieof1
I'm hoping you get a better outcome this time, 🤞🏾 for a DM that can articulate what's in front of them. I hope the same for us all at still waiting x

Mamof31 · 28/01/2024 14:13

My scan dates 13/09 still waiting I had a call from dm Tuesday but no text message or payment in account so really think he’s been declined

Ashh1998 · 28/01/2024 14:15

@FlutterByASD not sure if this will help at all but I sent off extra evidence on Thursday last week via special delivery. It's been delivered so I will be calling on Monday to see if its been scanned. Scan date 28/09. 😁

Kkh1 · 28/01/2024 14:16

Does anyone know if they accept email conversations that I could print off as evidence ?

I could be wrong but I think they prefer official reports/assessments, but if you think it's beneficially and you have enough time for it to get there then I'd send it.

Thanks for the reply! I'll give them a ring first thing and see what they say. If they've already made a decision and it's been refused I'll just use it for the MR. Fingers crossed we get some good news soon 🤞
