DLA wait times part 25

Continuing on from part 24...😊

After 1h I finally got through scan Date 01/09 the guy seemed really helpful and said the claim is with a decision maker now and should of heard something by Monday next week ( I will believe it when I see it ) 😫 the wait has been awful and the constant changes to dates have been terrible. He said they started September claims yesterday and DM are given a pile of claims on a Monday to work through for that week. Good Luck To all the other early September claims and the ones still waiting from end of Aug

Some advice needed please.
how long is acceptable to wait for a EP report? It’s been 7 weeks on Wednesday since we had the panel meeting. I emailed the senco after 3 weeks and she said she would get back to me once they’ve received the report. I understand it’s been Christmas but how long should I wait to chase? In October the school said they would be doing the referral as soon as they’ve received the report. My LO is doing ‘better’ in school due to the teacher knowing exactly how to handle her so I feel like they’re gonna drag their feet as she’s not as problematic as she used to be though at home wow it’s a different story! Sorry for the rant but any advice is helpful xx

@Kirst31 @funinthesun19 this sounds like my son too. I was awarded HRC but no mobility my son is 3 so he would only get HRM anyway but I dont really have much evidence for that side of things. Care I had a lot evidence x

Yeah same here, i had to wait till she turned 5 to apply for lrm as she didn't qualify for high rate but i get HRC for her have done for 2 years almost x

This wait is unbearable. I'm autistic myself and really struggling with post Christmas burnout. I don't think I've got it in me if an MR is required.
I'm 18 +1 weeks from scan date today.

Been watching this thread for months. Have 2 new claims scan dates 29-08 and 26-09.
recieved text yesterday confirming award for august claim. Total of 18 weeks 6 days.

called this morning daughter has been awarded LRC. I need to pop a message on universal credit to let them no but I’ve no idea what to say. I’m under the impression the carers element won’t be included because she only gets LRC? Can someone with any knowledge please help? Not sure what to write in the journal.

defo looks like the last week of august are being done now so hopefully not long for you guys. Received my text yesterday at 14:53.

@NikkiJD you can only get disabled element on UC for LRC the carers element is MRC or HRC x

@NikkiJD you just need to ‘report a change’ on your universal credit home page, complete the the questions with the date the dla has been awarded from. Then pop a note in your journal under ‘payment’ and say your son/daughter has now been awarded Low rate care DLA and can the disabled child element be backdated please. Hope this helps x

Does the backdated disabled child element get sent with your next usual UC payment or does the backdated amount get sent as a separate payment?

@Loumumoftwo was it just backdated automatically once you had informed them of your DC’s DLA award, or did you have to request to have it backdated?

hey! So I called on Friday and it was with a case manager… still waiting so I’m thinking decline. I did ask for them to text when a decision had been made but nothing yet. Would they always text? 🥵

Scan date 29/08 so 19 weeks today 😩 I’ll let you all know if I hear anything the next couple of days 🤞

I spoke to them and they have the form. So just a waiting game now. Thanks for suggesting to call.

Scan date 6thsep called yesterday to be told very soon as top of pile , had 2 letters 3 texts but taking that with a very fine pinch of salt .
