DLA wait times… part 22 (2023)

Could I ask yous all how long all in for payment off uc? Anyway to hurry it along? X

Not even sure I will get the backpay.

Ive just been on hold for two hours…still with a decision maker and has been since 30th November so 6 days now. The lady said there should be a decision any day and put a note on to text me.

mine went to a decision maker over 2 weeks ago still waiting no rush with them is they..you should be entitled to child element hun xxxxx

@Rebeccanew I already get UC before the DLA was awarded, so I'm already getting a small amount of the housing element and child element.

Ohh I see I still think you’ll be entitled hun I do…how long does it need to take them though @MangoPepsiLover I’m gonna give end week and ring again surely should t take this long xxxxxx

@Rebeccanew i reported mine on Friday, had a message on my journal saying it was going to DM that afternoon, Monday had another message saying it had been accepted and had a letter today saying the amount they owe me and my payment will be in my bank in 3-5 days. I think it depends on all sorts of factors as I’ve seen it take weeks for others

Ohh wow @SleepyMamma02 thats amazing! I mean I have seen one or 2 quick turn around but I think it’s all a lengthy wait maybe locations might be a factor do you think? It takes about 3-5 days for my work coach to even reply lol! Xxxxxx

@Rebeccanew potentially! I’m from South wales, and I don’t see as many from that location as I do for other places, so it could be a huge factor xxx

I’m north east I honestly think our end it takes ages lol! I’m unsure if I even have a work coach as I have different people writing on it xxxxxx

@Luevzamum yes I got another supporting statement from school senco, risk assessment from school, copy of ehcp, new pediatrician report , speech report and couple other bits I must say it was alot I'm just hoping enough, did you manage to get some new evidence? Xx

Hi all, hopefully this gives some indication of wait times for those still filled with dread waiting to find out their decision!

I called for application in July 2023, filled out sent back with a ton of evidence by end of July, received a letter early august to say received forms on 02/08
Received another letter mid Sept to say still looking at claim, then received text early oct saying same thing and last text received 31/10, again still looking. Then everything went quiet. I called today as was at 18 weeks and was told on the phone it was with a case manager and speed of getting a decision is dependent on their workload! Was told could be another 3 weeks or more. I accepted this and thanked her for her help. Well blow me down with a feather, received a further text this afternoon at around 4pm to say DS accepted and wait for letter. No idea of rates or when payment will be made, but at least I know he is finally getting what he deserves. (After Years of battling everyone!) just wanted to say there is light at the end of tunnel, keep going, wishing everyone luck who is still waiting to hear and for those having to fight that fight a little longer.

@Jneill2021 thankyou hun I wud rather send it to that address with recorded delivery. My social worker did me a report for him and the occupational therapist from my local council who has just recently approved a wet room for my son to be added to my house has done a small report. Not thought about his EHCP but with him refusing school I’m in the process now of applying for an EOATS so I just hope it’s enough xx

Update on UC back pay.
I updated the journal with the CE and DC elements on Friday, and received the back pay last night. All in all less than a weeks turn around for both DLA and UC. Im assuming location plays a part in how fast things are worked through.

Nothing here at all, not even carers allowance and I applied for that over a week ago.

Update on uc nearly 3 weeks later I have first letter in journal accepting special circumstances now to wait for the next letter xxxxx

I updated my uc last Thursday, got a message on Friday saying air was with the verification team, got a message yesterday saying it’s with the dm, how long is it with the dm for? Does anyone know?x
