DLA wait times… part 22 (2023)

Following on from part 21 as it is about to become full! 😊

27/7 just been on hold for 1hr 50 min and thankfully they answered. My boy as been awarded HRC and LRM. Was awarded Friday, I didn’t get a text. I’m actually in shock, was thinking a decline as not heard .Thanks everyone in this group for keeping me going. And best of luck to everyone!!

Anyone waiting for UC while also waiting for carers allowance, my carers allowance was back dated and I started getting weekly payment In 1 week from applying, as soon as I updated that on UC that I was now getting carers allowance it was done in a day, they work it out including carers allowance so you won’t get much UC refund but will get the whole carers allowance refund

Hi, just wondering if anybody has been awarded yet that have an august scan date? Scan date 2/8 and don’t know if iv sent enough evidence in. I have sent nursery SEN plan, Paediatricians assessment and SALT assessment. I have tried to ring but they are saying 20 weeks now so just curious if anybody has heard anything? Thanks :)

Thank you everyone! This last couple of weeks has been torture. I’m still in shock, also quite emotional , this process has been quite difficult. having to write the difficulties our kids have and then the long wait, relying on a stranger to understand how hard life is and all the struggles that us as parents deal with also. Xx 😘

I dont think evidence is always as important as people think. It's more about showing how much extra care your child needs day and night etc. I had some evidence of diagnosis and awaiting more appointments , but I don't have school to write anything as they are home educated. I did however write 10 pages to go with the tick boxes explaining how he needs help in each area. I've seen people with no evidence be awarded and people who's children have complex medical issues be declined.. 😔

Hi, I sent my forms off 27/10 and haven't had any confirmation they have been received. Tried calling but not able to speak to anyone as lines cut off due to demand. Is it normal to be waiting for confirmation this long? Or should I assume its been lost and start again? Thanks

@CjnLid I didn't send off much evidence really and it certainly didn't really desrcibe my DDs actual needs.

And we were awarded.

I received a letter confirming the application was received around 4 weeks after sending it. If you’re able to, calling at 9am on the dot is ideal.

Is there a new page being made because this one is getting full? I’m getting a bit obsessed with checking if anyone around my date has had any news yet

Hi all my scan date was 25/7 and finally got my back pay today no text or call not sure I’m guessing either middle or high rate care! ♥️

Anyone know when i should get a answer on a renewal claim please as i am nearly at the end of my sons claim and just recived a new diagnosis and extra evidence and didnt know if its worth sending this or if its to late
