DLA wait times… part 22 (2023)
Loumumoftwo · 03/12/2023 07:50

@Sarahdestiny its up to 20 weeks from your scan date unfortunately 😫
they are currently saying its 18 weeks to go to a decision maker and then 7-10 days for a decision after that. A lot seem to be awarded around the 18 week mark at the minute though x

Sarahdestiny · 03/12/2023 07:52

@Loumumoftwo oh right long wait ahead still for me then lol thank you xx

Looloo12332 · 03/12/2023 08:06

@Sarahdestiny it 18_20 weeks from them scanning the forms unfortunately.I would be in week 25 if it was when u called for the form. The wait is so long and is driving people mad xx

Mammalee5 · 03/12/2023 08:47

@Sarahdestiny my first text was 9 1/2 weeks after the scan date. Second was 12 1/2 weeks. Their system is actually rubbish because not everyone receives texts or even letters unfortunately

Sarahdestiny · 03/12/2023 09:22

@Looloo12332 @Mammalee5 yes the wait is ridiculous 🙄 especially if get rejected fingers crossed we all get awarded x

Dolliesmama · 03/12/2023 09:29

My scan date is 25/8 2 texts 31st October and 21st November had a call from a private number yesterday that I missed, im kind of thinking it could of been them do they leave a message if they can't get through as I never had a message from them good look to all you parents waiting for what your kids need and deserve xx

Dolliesmama · 03/12/2023 09:32

Its horrendous im literally getting loans to cover costs of what dd needs i am praying she gets it as im getting further into debt to try and cover costs for her.

Mammalee5 · 03/12/2023 09:48

@Sarahdestiny it really is ridiculous, in June when it was about 12 weeks wait, the Gov pledged to hire more staff and bring the waiting times down... it's going well i see . I'm 18 weeks on Thursday for 3 of my children's applications. We had no idea we could claim. We have 2 children with autism and 2 with adhd/autism. (Waiting for my little girl to be 3 next year before applying for her, 3 applications was enough torture)We home educate so evidence has been statements from the clubs they attend rather than school, and evidence from their gp / early help assessor. Probably going to need to do an MR for them but hoping 1 of them will go through first time. They all have a lot of night time needs so put in diaries. I've been filming their stimming/ refusals to walk etc for a potential tribunal. My almost 3 year old also has severe motion sickness and eczema as well as PDA (and adhd/autism) my 4 year old has autism, non verbal to everyone but his close circle, severe stimming, sleep apnea and anemia, my almost 6 year old has adhd/autism , little bladder control, severe PDA, my 7 year old has autism, non verbal a lot of the time, everything has to be stuck to routine otherwise there's heartbroken meltdowns for days and shutsdown completely. All fussy eaters all tear clothes constantly, alll have sensory issues, all need things to be "just right" etc. They all have needs far beyond a child of the same ages. It's hard work but they're all my wonderful little geniuses

Dolliesmama · 03/12/2023 09:55

Wrong scan date 24/8
@Sarahdestiny just read all that I really hope you get it you sound like super woman, infact everything ive read i think you all are xx

Dolliesmama · 03/12/2023 09:56

@Mammalee5 sorry that was for you but applies to all xx

Mammalee5 · 03/12/2023 09:56

@Dolliesmama it might have been, i believe they leave a message. Call at 9am Monday to check x. You're about 4 weeks behind where they're working at at the moment.(last week of july/beginning of August should be where most dm's are now) doesn't mean though that it isn't them. You could have one of the faster DM's

Dolliesmama · 03/12/2023 10:07

I'm not calling them at all too anxiety riddled for that kind of thing ill just wait it out xx

Mammalee5 · 03/12/2023 10:15

@Dolliesmama thank you hun. We're managing to keep the meltdowns low, so long as everything is perfect lol. Any changes and it's very hard days. Because we home educate we cam adapt to their needs constantly so that really helps. Just tiring on little sleep. The money will help replace things constantly, afford their comfort reset foods more, 1 to 1 specialised tutoring etc. Nobody goes through this torture for no reason, all the kids need the help. I really hope everyone hears soon positive news x

Mammalee5 · 03/12/2023 10:33

@Dolliesmama I get that, my anxiety at being declined over rode my anxiety of talking to them at about 16 weeks lol.
