Shazmummy · 02/12/2023 13:16

Hello, been following this thread for awhile. Very very worried missed a phone call this morning from dla! Never known anyone to have a call? Scan date 27/07 , son has GDD, sent speech therapist letter and upcoming appointments - any idea what the call could be about? Answer machine says check UC journal, if your on old benefits will contact you if we need anything. On income support so can’t check journal. Any help would be appreciated here.

Shazmummy · 02/12/2023 14:16

update! 2 calls I missed not 1, my son and I have had norovirus so been sleeping in the morning, surely it’s a good thing there calling trying to get hold. If they don’t call again I’ll ring Monday first thing but any idea as to why there calling?

MammyAng84 · 02/12/2023 14:21

@Sophiesmilesxxx i rang up carers & was told they can’t tell u when u will get payment but not to ring till after the 6 weeks they tell u to expect it to take of that helps xx

Lightsoutallout · 02/12/2023 07:57

@MilaMom did you get through yesterday? We are same scan date 26/07 and I've not heard anything either.

I sent additional evidence and they noted on my file that I had so I'm now worried they'll be waiting for the evidence to be scanned etc before making the decision 🤷‍♀️

I tried, waited for 1h30min and was disconnected in the end. No news and no money or text as of yet.
i also sent more information and was also not scanned when I called on Tuesday.
Hopefully we will hear something soon 🙏🏼
I saw people from the 31st being awarded.. can’t deal with this wait…

Watso2408 · 02/12/2023 08:36

@MilaMom im scan date 27/7, and not heard a thing. I work school hours so can’t ring really, tried when I finished work yesterday, I was on hold for 2hrs then got cut off as phone lines closed 🤬

Same thing happened to me yesterday…
i still haven’t heard a thing 😩
praying for an answer on Monday!
good luck to us 🙏🏼

I never seen anyone saying they got a phone call. Hopefully is your positive outcome, but no idea. I didn’t get the UC part, the dla called and when you called back asked you to check UC? Im confused, but im guessing is good news, would never think they would call to say you were not awarded.

Shazmummy · 02/12/2023 16:27

@MilaMom This is what I mean!! I’ve not seen it either. And when I called back it was an automated message saying that we tried to call you if your on uc check your journal if your on old style benefits we will try contact again if we need anything. I’ve never heard anyone get a call aswell hun I’m so confused and anxious! Xx

Mammalee5 · 02/12/2023 16:49

@Shazmummy it may be a decision maker calling to confirm bank details/ information given. I have seen on both UC and DLA that they sometimes call. Especially DLA to confirm night time needs

Shazmummy · 02/12/2023 16:58

@Mammalee5 thanks hun, god I’m even more nervous now that missing that call could affect the decision made. Gonna call first thing Monday and hopefully get some info. Just my luck this happens lol xx

Hardingcl · 02/12/2023 17:43

Can someone help.
I get universal credit I work so i don’t qualify for carers allowance. Am I right in thinking I will get child dla element of 146 per month? Someone mentioned carers element of 189 per month is this different to carers allowance and will I be eligible for this to?
I have updated my uc to show my daughter gets MRC LRM and that I care for her more than 35 hrs per week. I am waiting on them getting back to me as it’s gone to a decision maker for back pay. I was just surprised by the 189 as I only thought it would be the 146 child element

Loumumoftwo · 02/12/2023 18:22

@Hardingcl yes you will get the carers element of UC as well as the £146. Carers element is given if you receive middle or higher rate care. Hope that helps x

Loumumoftwo · 02/12/2023 18:24

@Hardingcl just to add carers element of UC is different to carers allowance x

Toni1228 · 02/12/2023 20:13

@Shazmummy it might have just been uc calling, I have dla number saved and I had a call the other day that come up dla and it was uc calling not actually dla 🤷‍♀️ suppose with them all being connected it’s the same number that calls xx

Shazmummy · 02/12/2023 20:15

@Toni1228 I wouldn’t have a clue why it would be Uc cuz I’m on income support love. But thank you for helping xx

LollyRiv · 02/12/2023 22:26

Mumofepilepsy · 02/12/2023 01:21

@LollyRiv yes I called today said the same thing as last time still with DM nothing on system no notes. Ohh she did say may have complex cases to deal with. I said yes he probably looked and mine and thought ohhhh my !!!! And put it to the back. Am going to try my best to not call it makes u feel sick. All the ladies that had same date as us have been awarded. Now the chat is full of end of July and august. She did say u have all ur evidence etc so that’s made me feel a bit better. Am defo gonna stop now and just wait xxx

@Mumofepilepsy it's just so hard isn't it. I'm so pleased for everyone getting their news, I just hope we're next 🙈. I'm sure we will here next week. I'm going to call in Monday so if I have any news I will let you know x

congratulations to everyone awarded ive only applied and sent my forms off on the 13th of November so I’ve got a long wait a head feeling like going to be a decline witn seeing so many declines for 2 year olds he is 3 in march he is possible ASD little to no communication or understanding no sense of danger physically violent to myself , staff at school and children hand flaps no eye contact physically violent severe meltdown hates clothes strips off all the time excetra sent off 2 pediatrition reports both stating possible asd and requires SCP pathway for asd diagnoses he is currently 33 months old and very delayed in a number of things nursery manager completed the who knows your child part,, he is on send register at school awaiting SCP forms to be sent off next week by myself and school and his first speach and language appointment on the 18th December would use recommend me sending the acceptance of SCP when I recieve it if he does get accepted and also sending a report off from speech and language when we’ve had an appointment? Or do you think the evidence I’ve already provided will be enough ? I’ve uploaded a photo of some of the information about development from paediatrician just feelin really anxious now with so many peoples 2 year olds getting declined coz of age

Tmxx · 02/12/2023 22:59

@Emma2345 I was also scared of a decline due to age! I was told to apply for dla when my baby was 3 months old but due to reading everything about it being so hard to get for an under 1 year old i didn't bother but the many appointments a month and a couple a month being an hour away then paying parking and for lunch when there and so on we was spending a fortune and needing extra things when he wasn't hitting milestones but was also outgrowing baby so needing extra things for him I gave in when he was 7months old and applied and was so nervous but he got awarded mrc until 2030 and it went to a dm that day and was done that day! I was so sure I was going to do an mr its unreal! But all that wprry for nothing! Age doesn't mean anything as long as there is extra care xxx

crazytimes20 · 02/12/2023 23:24

Hi, those who applied for carers allowance, how long did it take to hear from them? I haven't a clue about out like this.

Emma2345 · 02/12/2023 23:56

@Tmxx Thankyou for replying and yes I get it for my younger son he is only 1 for breathing problems same as you constant hospital stays and appointments every single week we was in and it was costing so much their was times I wasn’t eating cos I just couldn’t afford too as I was paying for people to look after my other 2 children while i was in hospital, I waited till he was about 10 months old before I applied with him he is on constant inhalers both day and night 3 different ones and antibiotics 3 x a week and he had pneumonia 5 times in such a short space of time and requires Oxygen has loads of proof with him and consultant letters,, but because my other one is just suspected asd and not on medication or anything I just feel like it’s going to be a decline It just seems to be hit and miss with who’s desk it lands on😩 I don’t reckon al hear anything till probably march April time anyway seems to be such a long wait for decisions I only sent my form back about 2 weeks ago xx

MammyAng84 · 03/12/2023 00:05

@crazytimes20 i rang after a week to be told u have to give them at least 6 weeks if u haven’t heard anything, some people on here had payments quickly but I haven’t yet xx

crazytimes20 · 03/12/2023 00:22

@MammyAng84 ah okay. Thank you 😊

Persistent · 03/12/2023 07:35

@Emma2345 have you had confirmation they have received the forms. I have sent mine the same day and worried they are lost

Sarahdestiny · 03/12/2023 07:37

24/08 ...15 weeks this week since rang for the form
4/10 week 9 since scan date
Just wondering is it 15 -20 weeks from the day you started your claim or from your scan date

Also my son is autistic he is nearly 2 and already been diagnosed I have seen on here people getting awarded for there 2 year old but not mobility as they ain't entitled until they are 3 or 5 for high rate
And i have seen on here people have been told once there child turns 3 they will receive high rate mobility... I am just wondering is there 2 year old nearly 3 is that why they have told u that they are entitled to high rate mobility when they turn 3?? or is it because of the length of time they have been awarded they have already told you what mobility they will get cause I thought u had to re apply once they are 3 to get mobility side I didn't think they told you what mobility they will get until you have to reapply once they turn 3 for the mobility part

Hope this makes sense to someone lol 😆 thanks x
