DLA wait times… part 22 (2023)

Following on from part 21 as it is about to become full! 😊

Is anyone on here still on old style benefits?
im not on UC, I receive income support and child tax credits.
what I wanted to ask to anyone being awarded….has anyone managed to get them to backdate it more than only 1 month instead of back to the claim date like they should?
any help would be much appreciated.

@Mumof3specialkids they should backdate from start of claim when u called for a letter.They did with me last year for my son and I'm old style benefits

I’ve done the change of circumstances online and stated it needs to be backdated because my son would of been receiving it 20 odd weeks ago if it weren’t for DWP huge timescales and he needs and deserves that money….but think I will give them a call today just to make sure.

@Lauren2121 my DS application will also be 18 weeks on 11th dec. I also have another application that will be 18 weeks on the 6th December. I’ll keep updating any progress on here. X

Called yesterday and its been with D/M since Tuesday so hopefully not too long I've a feeling it will be declined wish they would hurry up I can't concentrate at min.

I called this morning to give additional info over the phone and was told our application is currently in the holding que to go to DM and she told me that it’s currently taking 17.5 weeks to go to DM.
Just incase this helps anyone.

so will be 18 weeks next week. I was going to wait until next week to call but I’m ringing now to see if there’s any progress because I’m impatient 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 will let you know what they say x

@Mammyzzzzz I had that feeling in the last weeks, its hard to keep positive and actually I prefer to prepare for the worst but I'm sure it'll be ok.

Hi all.
Ive been following this thread since august time but never commented. I just wanted to update and say I called this morning and was told I was awardees yesterday, HRC, for my 4 year old son (my scan date was 28/07).
I’ve seen people stressing about lack of evidence sent, or their children’s age, and other factors, and I just wanted to try and instill some hope. My son is currently waiting diagnosis for ASD, and is attending speech therapy. There’s not a lot of doctor involvement atm as they’re reluctant to be involved until his diagnosis, so all I sent off extra was his speech therapist report, report from school and his waiting list letter.

Try to keep hope, I know how hard it is to think the worst, but I have my fingers crossed for you all and your little ones.

It does makes me feel good.
My scan date is 26/07 and I'm started to lose my hope.
Im really happy for you and your outcome is amazing!
My boy is 9, he is deaf of one ear and is being assessed for autism.
Hopefully he will get a positive outcome too.

@MilaMom Honestly, I was all aboard the “I’m going to get declined, there’s dates ahead of me that have heard, I sent no evidence, did I fill the forms right?” train. It gets worse as the time goes on, and you definitely start to eat, sleep and breathe it and think the worst.
Dont give up hope! You’re doing this for your child, who 100% deserves this, you have got this!! It’s easy to fall into the negative, but I fully have my fingers crossed for you with wishing you all of the luck in the world.

Just got through to quite a nice man, he said it’s with a decision maker and should be done at any time either today or by next week 🤞

I called this morning, scan date is 14/8 was told it’s looking like the 3rd week in January😫 That would be 22 weeks😫

@cocoapple Maybe they’re airing on the side of caution as it may fall over the Christmas period? I hope you get something sooner x
