DLA wait times… part 22 (2023)

Following on from part 21 as it is about to become full! 😊

Just managed to get through and my son has been awarded Middle rate care when he was on high rate care previously. Has anyone had to do a MR and know how long they are taking at the moment?

@Tmxx just that it’s with decision maker that was the date I was awarded they don’t rush either do they hun lol xxxxxx

OMG 😲 @Dustydolly Was it COC? If so what scan date? Mine is 30/06. I'm worried now. I hope they sort it soon for you.

No it was supposed to be a renewal but they got the form late and put it through as a new claim. His needs have actually increased since last award so don't see how they've come to the conclusion he needs less care. Scan date was 24/7

I've just had a letter on my journal from UC confirming my special circumstances apply and it will be backdated but that's it. Nothing about when or how much. Does anyone know how lomg it roughly takes to find that out as I'm on 4 weeks tomorrow since updating my claim. Thanks

Anyone know the address of where you send extra evidence for an MR at all. I was given an address but want chcek if it’s correct, thankyou x

@Tmxx It was sent to decison maker on 22nd Nov so its taken 1 week 1 day. X

@Raych1989 oh my god i wrote in my journal on the 13th Nov and they replied saying they are sending it to a dm for a decision on backdate on the 15th and nothing you! Driving me mad now 🤣 Xxx

@Tmxx I originally updated the change on 3rd Nov so took them nearly 3 weeks just to send to a decision maker. So frustrating. I have spent the last 6 months waiting on decisions. Its exhausting 😪 I'll let u know how long it takes from me getting this letter to actually finding out payments now x

@Raych1989 oh my god yes the waiting for 6 months has actually driven me to the brink of a breakdown 🤣🤣 yes please let me know when you receive the payment letter! I've seen people saying they tale arrears you have out of the backpay so i doubt I'll even get much as I've been slowly paying a debt now for a couple years! So I don't know why I want it sorted so badly 🤣 xxx

@Tmxx I'm not sure if they do take any owing amounts or not. It doesn't mention anything on this letter about it. As soon as I have another update I'll let u know. X

I tried calling this morning but couldn't get through in time before my appointment, might try again now before the school run 😂

i had to order a new bank card - do I need to call and give them the new card number ect.. ? Account code and sort code are the same as my old one ?

Could someone please advise me as to wether my son would be entitled to higher rate disabled child element of UC if he is mrc and HRM. Tia

I’ve just received a text stating “we’ve decided your child qualifies for Disability Allowance”.

It hasn’t given me the rates or anything so will attempt to call to find out.

My scan date was 25/07 and had been with DM since Monday.

@TheRBC congratulations. Bet it's such a relief. I've not heard anything and don't think I will till I ring. I was really hoping for a txt but nothing so far. I'm going to ring first thing in morning.

Does anyone know how long UC take when you recieve letter stating your special circumstances apply and they will backdate to when you get the next letter stating how much and when it will be paid. Thanks x

@crazytimes20 Thank you! I’ve actually got jelly legs, I feel like such a massive weight has been lifted. I think the texts are sporadic - not everyone gets one. I’ve seen a few people on here wake up to money in their accounts and that’s how they’ve found out. I also think I’ve been very lucky because I’ve only called twice and both times I’ve had a very helpful and informative woman. She didn’t rush me, listened to me and took her time looking up things when Ive asked her for information. I’d give them a call, at least that way you know where you stand. Good luck and I’ll keep checking back on you until you get your decision x

Hello again all congrats on all that has been awarded and good luck for ones still waiting. Thet received my forms 26.06.2023 but have awarded from 29.08.2023 does anyone kno why they haven't paid from scan date. Tia

@Elle1978 did you return the forms by the return by date on the front of the form?

@Mumof3specialkids My decision was made some time on Monday (27th) and my back pay went in today (30th) so 3 days give or take
