@crazytimes20 fingers cross.

Lightsoutallout · 28/11/2023 12:36

I also called today. It must be different wait times for different areas maybe? I'm in Northumberland.
It is such a frustrating process! I have been told by nursery that my little one needs 1-2-1 funding but they can't apply for that until we get DLA approved!
Good luck with yours, I'll follow your progress x

Lightsoutallout · 28/11/2023 12:39

My reply was meant for @MilaMom but I forgot to tag you, sorry 😅

Yes... there must be a logic to it, maybe it is location based.
No idea. It does sound like you will get yours if even the school is needing further support for your child.
Hope it all goes well for you.

@Mummymummy22 if you don't mind me asking, did you just get a payment for carers allowance or did you get a letter/text or anything to let you know you it had been accepted after you applied? I applied this morning and had a confirmation email to say I've applied for it, but not sure if ilcget a phone call or anything it days it could take up to 6 weeks for a decision have I done the right one? 🤣

@MilaMom i very nearly made the same mistake when I tried to send it signed for at the post office. They said they cannot send signed for on a free post address. I didn’t want to risk sending as I sent my original application free post and they didn’t receive it which was so frustrating. I ended up sending it to the Wolverhampton address. I have just got through and they confirmed it’s all scanned in.
just a quick side note for August scan dates, I have 2 applications in, 2/8 and 7/8 and they are still in a holding queue. He said 18 weeks from scan date + 5-9 days for desicion

So I definitely did wrong as suspected....
Since is already with case manager, is it worth it to try to send it again?
I would only be able to do that tomorrow, so they would luckily only get it by Thursday and be on the system probably only next week...
I'm thorn now.

Watso2408 · 28/11/2023 12:48

@Mrsstephens04 yes I will do. I’m constantly checking my phone in case I’ve missed a text, like a crazy stalker haha 😂

Mariannec · 28/11/2023 12:50

@MilaMom hmm it’s a difficult one with it already being with CM. I suppose it wouldn’t do much harm to re send it. What did the person on the phone suggest?

He just said he would add a note that I sent more information.
He said sometimes they take a long time to added to the case, but might already be "around" lol
He didn't say for me to send again now, but said it could be looked at even after the decision is made.
He said I'm really close to a decision, so I think I will wait and if it is declined ill send it.

Mummymummy22 · 28/11/2023 12:55

@Mrsstephens04 no text - I called them to chase after 4 days as I'd seen someone else on this thread get it in 1 week...they told me it were awarded but they don't confirm how much or anything else over phone - they say wait for the letter. Still waiting for letter but backpay came within week

Shezza8507 · 28/11/2023 13:01

@Mariannec will the payment come in my next assment period or before? Sorry im new to all this

TwoStops · 28/11/2023 13:04

Can someone tell me what options to press when calling DLA, to get an update please. I find it confusing.

The text I received today said they are still looking at my claim. I submitted at Sept 27. When is it possible to get the second text?

I got my second text 3 weeks after the first one.

AndrewGarfieldsLaptop · 28/11/2023 13:08

Thank you so much. I'm crossing my fingers. Is that to say it's been rewarded?

I’m not on UC so was thinking of claiming carers allowance as can’t work due to ds on reduced school hours ect. Does anyone know if they accept it whether they backdate to start of dla claim or just when you apply for it?

Mariannec · 28/11/2023 13:34

@Shezza8507 they send it as a separate BACS payment.
