DLA Wait times part 20… (2023)

Following on from part 19 as it’s about to become full.

Honestly the wait is driving me crazy 🫠

scan date 17/7 Merseyside area had a text today at 11.22 saying my child qualifies my child has adhd (private diognosis )and dyslexia send every bit of evidence even if you don’t think it’s relevant I sent in empty boxes of medication prescriptions sen school plan dyslexia screening and apointments I printed off good look to those who are waiting xx

Mines the 17/7 deffo think mines a decline as it went to a DM on Wednesday and still not heard anything no text can't even call them Monday as I'm out all day so I'll have to wait till Tuesday.

I’m starting to think decline as mine is 20th July & I’ve heard absolutely nothing, no txts & only 1 letter. Rang last Tuesday & wasn’t even at Dm

not all decision makers have the option to send a text my friends son got awarded on Thursday and she never received a text only a letter in the post her scan date was 13/7 good luck I think you should have a decision Monday xxx

its amazing ppl are being awarded probably a few DMs that are working fast they are a head. I know mine is probably complicated. it is too me. I wish I could just tell the person a day of my life face to face with DM. Epilepsy is so hard to explain especially when she has so many different types of seizures. Then again am thinking does it take long to let us know cause they have said a big NO NO !!!! Well am ready tbf I think it would be better explaining my daughters life in a tribunal. I don’t want to go that far but this big gap worries me!!!! Am the 21/7 x

Do they call off a mobile number?

As I had a missed call this morning however my son managed to answer and hang up 🙄 but I couldn't return the call as the number didn't allow incoming calls. Maybe wishful thinking and it was actually just a scam 🙄.

@Billie1993 my disablitiy element was verified on Thursday and back date released on Friday due to go in my bank on Monday! Hope this helps and congratulations on your award can't remember if I seen?x

I had a random number ring me yesterday, got all excited & it was a scam, they got the brunt of my frustration haha xx

Hahaha yep that would have been me this morning if I managed to answer them 🤣... its when I get a text I run to my phone only to see a deal from papa John's or something 🤣

@Lollipoppi3 congratulations on the award! Please could I ask what area you are just wondered if it’s on the area as my scan date was 4th august and I still haven’t heard anything yet?

@Binks90 mine was with a DM for 5 days some are longer and awarded so have hope still! 🤞

When they are assigned to a DM they sit there until they get through them, some work part time, some full time, some work overtime and some don’t so that’s when it can differ. I know how you all feel those last weeks I couldn’t sleep or function without it taking over my life! X

Scan date 14th July. I got a text on 09.10 to say they were still looking at it. I didn’t get a text when awarded. Go awarded Thursday just gone (in the afternoon) I had rung them Thursday lunchtime and they said it wasn’t with a dm yet I called Friday and they said it was awarded on the Thursday afternoon so it must have been with dm a very short time x

Yes, my decision was made in exactly 15 weeks and 1 day! I was really surprised as I thought I would hear something mid to late December given that others are still waiting from July! I am in the West Midlands and received 2 letters and 2 texts the last text being the 31st October. The number that called was an 0800 number, good luck to those still waiting ❤️

Now you mention that I had a missed call over a week ago from a random mobile... I texted back to say I missed the call then I tried ringing and it said they don't accept calls.. 🤔🤔

My 2nd text was sent to me on the 31st October too. Scan date 07/09 though so will have a few more weeks left yet.

My 11 year old son has epilepsy and adhd he was awarded mrc and lrm this week. I sent in zero evidence for his epilepsy as it was only diagnosed at the end of May and I have no reports.
On his award letter it said they based it on a medical report.

This is horrible. Honestly, i would have said to her - can i ask why you're being hostile? Your letter stated 15 weeks, the government waiting times on google state 8 weeks. You are past both times of waiting, how am i supposed to know that you have changed the waiting times without communication. After weeks of no contact, it is absolutely reasonable for me to call and check. This may be normal waiting times for yourself but not for the people that are applying. We only have the letters to go by as to what is normal. You also have no right to criticise me as a parent, you are not my child's optician, doctor or parent. Do you really think it is professional to berate a parent that is trying her best with a child with a disability. That your tone is helpful? You have no idea about any medical conditions that i may have and how your treatment right now can affect my mental health. If you have been doing this job too long that you do not have compassion for your customers in struggling situations, then maybe you shouldn't be doing it anymore.

To be honest, I'd also put a complaint in!

I'm near your date 03/08 for my 3 children as we were unaware to claim. Impatiently waiting. Good luck hun
