DLA Wait times part 20… (2023)

Following on from part 19 as it’s about to become full.

Has anyone received a text starting with “a decision has been made” that’s been a good outcome once the letter arrives?? Iv finally received a text but it’s the dreaded a decision was made instead of we have decided your child qualifies so I’m assuming it’s a decline :( I’m so disappointed but il try to appeal once I receive the letter. Wishing everyone still waiting for good outcomes.

@Laniewith3boys I am not sure? What was your scan date? I am on hold now 1hr 20mins scan date 13/7 told it went to a DM on Monday xx

@Keddie you are a day before me! I’m 14/7 went to dm on weds. I called today and still no decision:( Iv seen a few end of July early aug awards now :/ x

@Clairexdx Same here its so frustrating. I dont want to spend another weekend stressing over it tbh. gonna see if they answer before 5.30 and i get cut off xx

@Keddie my scan date was 13/7/23 and was told it was with case manager on Tuesday Iv just received that text about ten minutes ago I’m gutted I definitely think it’s a decline though some people are saying they don’t send texts if it’s a decline they only send letters so I have no idea!!! I will just have to wait for my letter and go from there but feel so disappointed :(

@Laniewith3boys I am fully expecting a decline for my daughter. the lack of contact is awful xx

Scan date 20/7 called today and the man said I should have a decision next Thursday which will be 18 weeks

@Laniewith3boys I’ve only ever known those texts to be a decline from being on the threads but I really hope that’s not the case for you! It’s gut wrenching. Give them a call Monday and if you need to do a MR then defo do! X

Declined. Absolute crushed. I don’t even know what to say. He rushed through the reasons why and I wrote down what I could. Going to do a MR as there are points the DM made that I disagree with entirely. Just trying to sort tea and hold it together. All that waiting for absolutely nothing 😔 x

Just spoke to Cliff (top bloke to be honest) I am still with a DM he has marked it as urgent to be looked at this weekend and to have a text sent to me. Honestly lovely guy i feel very lucky not to get an ass at this time on a Friday! But still another weekend and no idea whatsoever. Working away Mon/Tues next week so cant call will hope for the ultimate text xx

So sorry to see the declines today. It really is not fair at all. Congrats to those who have been awarded. I'm actually dreading it now. I was okay for so long but now I'm seeing dates near mine be awarded I'm worrying.

@Pumpkins3 I am so sorry to hear this 😥Do your MR and get what you deserve, it will go to a brand new DM takes roughly 2 weeks. Call them and do it over the phone it will speed up the process. Just be ready with your responses to each point. I would do this asap waiting for the letter will delay you. Also FYI anyone reading this new evidence is taking up to 8 weeks to be scanned on!! My mate Cliff told me x

I am still trying to let it sink in that it’s over! I’m so relieved I can let go of this stress now. Well until 2026 anyway…🫣

Thank you @Keddie Honestly feels like some sort of joke really. I mean as if any of us would be applying for the fun of it. Our lives are stressful enough as it is without having to fight for every single bit of support 😩

I’m expecting a decline too not even ringing coz I got a feeling that’s the reason no news. I agree tho, waiting anxiously for 17 plus weeks and filling in the form for the sake of it… obviously wouldn’t put all the effort in for nothing. Congrats on all the awards. Our babies should be getting what they all deserve x

I tried today and kept getting cut off, I'm getting frustrated and upset by it. I know it's a decline.

Onwards and upwards, I'll increase my hours at work to get that extra money DD needs, I shouldn't have to and she will not cope with more time away from me - although the Childminder she goes to is lovely - but it is what it is

@Rebeccanew I know right 😃 ❤️ sooo happy right now! I am opening a savings account online now ready for the back pay while I prioritise what to him get first. Relief and joy don’t come close to explaining this feeling. I am so invested in everyone’s journey on here so I do feel sick and anxious for everyone still waiting or declined though. I believe nobody would put themselves through this process unless they genuinely had to and their child deserved the help so to see any decline is awful.
