Hi, new to DLA only been claiming since April but I did a Change of circumstances for my 6yo daughter in July, I hadn’t heard anything by 1st of September so I called again and they sent a new COC (arrived a week later) and the letter said it needed to be sent by 01 October. That’s okay, I sent off it 14th of September. Apparently they received it 03/10. That’s past the day it had to be back and about 2.5 months after I last claimed!

Got the letter today that said when they got it and it says “thank you for asking us to look again at your claim”

then “we need you to complete and return any documents we have sent you”

but I sent all documents off when I posted and it says 11 weeks for a decision on the letter but it says on here about 27 weeks? So confusing? What is right? Please help 😬

Luevzamum · 20/10/2023 14:37

@Alilly1991 i had simular letters one in June telling me 11 weeks and one in July telling me 15 weeks and I rang last week and they said I would be lucky if I get a decision this year as it’s taking around 6 months and everyone has there holidays in December so slows things down even more than they already are 😭

@Mumof5xo and @CHDmumma
Thank you so much for the advice. I added a message last night just asking an update, response this morning that the backdated money will be paid by 24th. Statements all updated.

Thanks again for all the advice on this and previous thread. I'd have been lost without you lot.

And best of luck to all of you waiting, I hope your little ones get what they deserve ❤️

It's not about the money, its the recognition and the doors of support this can open. But I'll not lie, this extra makes a huge difference to us and will definitely improve his quality of life.

I'm staying, if I can pass on the support and advice that I've had, hopefully make a difference.

@CoffeeLover90 sorry I haven’t seen your previous posts, is this your UC? Have they finally got back to you regarding your additional elements being added on

Hi, yes it's UC. I'd put a message on journal 30/9 requested back date, 09/10 they confirmed it would be and was sent to case manager to calculate. Chased up Thursday night and response next morning.

Muva306 · 21/10/2023 14:06

I didn't upload the letter, I updated changes before I'd even received it. They can verify it themselves. I'm surprised how quick it was.

sarahxdx · 24/10/2023 11:02

Jneill2021 · 24/10/2023 13:55

Luevzamum · 25/10/2023 02:35

sarahxdx · 26/10/2023 09:49

I’ve tried to ring up for 2 days now and I’ve been on hold for well over a hour,I had to give up because I just don’t have have the time to sit on hold with kids being off school,I’m going to try again on Monday x

Jneill2021 · 26/10/2023 09:58

@sarahxdx I was in hold 1 hour and 30 mins the other day to be answered by a really rude member of staff that just said we sint give updates time scale is 6 months and that was it lol will try again another day hopefully with a polite person answering x

sarahxdx · 26/10/2023 10:09

Oh god some of them are really rude, yet some can be very helpful 🤔 thank you for updating me x

CCLCECSC · 26/10/2023 10:14

My child had their DLA renewed last year for 2 years; since then they've turned 3 so it is my understanding they could now be eligible for mobility rate.

How do I apply?
The only form I can find online looks like a brand new application form.

I've tried calling the helpline and it just rings out or cuts out after an hour.

Is it worth filling in a brand new form but does this not run the risk of affecting the current provision?

Thanks in advance

sarahxdx · 26/10/2023 13:40

I think maybe you have to do a change of circumstance form xx

Luevzamum · 26/10/2023 15:11

I’ve still not heard anything yet @Jneill2021 they pretty much said the same to me as they did to you, 6 month Wait, just ridiculous why not go in day order no matter what the application is for?? I don’t understand 😵‍💫

Jneill2021 · 26/10/2023 22:24

@Luevzamum I really don't understand why coc are taking so long I'm seeing new claims towards end July been awarded, I really don't think it's fair I agree should go by date order no matter what xx

Luevzamum · 26/10/2023 22:37

@Jneill2021 yep absolutely agree, it’s ridiculous how long they are taking. The fact that u have been waiting since may means you sent them off even way before that date and all the time it takes filling them in prior, just makes me so mad as I feel like it would be simple just to sort out as they have already had previous evidence from our first claim so everything is on the system etc. Just don’t understand why it’s taking this long, 😤

Jneill2021 · 27/10/2023 09:35

@Luevzamum I just called and got a really nice man he said between 25/26 weeks and said I should have a decision within the next 2 weeks as im on 24 weeks and told me feel free to call back in 2 weeks xx the woman the other day was so rude don't think she even looked anything up tbh

Jneill2021 · 27/10/2023 09:37

@Luevzamum maybe give them a call just ask for an update that's all I done and he was so polite x
