Just a little update there saying 24 weeks for a coc I'm already on 25 and the woman said roughly 10 more days the wait is horrendous xx

sarahxdx · 03/11/2023 15:30

They are forever changing the wait times, fingers crossed for you xx

NovaaStormx · 03/11/2023 16:37

I received a letter this morning confirming receipt of application (mine was a renewal) dated 26th October, and confirming application was received 5th October and that the current wait time is 15 weeks and asking 'please do not contact us until 15 weeks have passed". I get they are up to there eyes but the wait time doesn't half play my anxiety!

Jneill2021 · 03/11/2023 19:55

@sarahxdx thank you fingers crossed your is done soon xxx

Anyone still waiting? Scan date was 19th July, so we're on week 16 now, I keep getting texts saying they're still considering it.

I don't think we'll get it, but I want to know either way so I can move on without it. Physio told me to apply. I applied before when DD was much younger and didn;t get it so don't think we'll get it now

Hi all, hope you can help / offer some advice.

I had a long battle with DLA. Waited 17 weeks earlier this year and the decision was declined. Then did a mandatory reconsideration and sent in further evidence and diagnoses and was then awarded low rate. I was so happy after the battle and waiting I did not think much of it.

However not only has my childs condition got worse and I have more evidence from specialist and school. Although not yet had asd assesment but has another medical condition which is what the above was awarded on.

Anyway due to condition got worse and needing to care for my child full time, the nurse told me this was not right and I should at least be entitiled to care allowance but of course you don't get this unless you get mimimum of middle rate.

So my question is... Do I phone or write to DLA with extra evidence I have, or do I have to go through it all over again and do a COC ?

Thanks in advance.

Am on hold to DLA now - been about an hour, I saw an earlier post someone gave up after an hour and a half, anyone have any recent experience of how long it takes to get through please? Am emptying and tidying my kitchen cupboards while I wait!
Thanks 💪

Can update my own post - hour and twenty minutes. Was for a renewal. Woman said that if the forms are received in good time before the renewal date they are aiming to renew (if still eligible) by the renewal date, but if not then will be backdated from time of decision to renewal date. Renewal date is next week, but no decision made yet. Good luck everyone.

Hi, unfortunately you would need to go through the coc but at least he'd keep the award they already made.
It will be worth it as you'd get the option of MR and tribunal if he didn't get the award you expected.
Coc (according to these threads) are taking 5/6 months.
See from a pp who's little one was declined then, after a MR, was awarded high. With little further evidence sent in. Just shows it all depends on the decision maker and they do get things wrong.
Best of luck to you.

mooneigh · 08/11/2023 07:05

@CoffeeLover90 Thank you so much. Do you think I should go ahead and start the coc with the extra evidence I already have with her other medical condition or do you think I should wait until the final asd assesment and then go at them with everything.

sarahxdx · 08/11/2023 07:58

I got a payment in my bank today from DLA,my son was getting lower rate care no mobility and I was hoping to get middle rate care but I think I’ve got lower rate mobility..I’m still happy with this though.

@CoffeeLover90 Thank you so much. Do you think I should go ahead and start the coc with the extra evidence I already have with her other medical condition or do you think I should wait until the final asd assesment and then go at them with everything.

Personally, I'd do it now. Seeing as there's such a long wait time you could send the results of the report while it's waiting a decision maker or send it as extra evidence if you need to do a MR

Jneill2021 · 09/11/2023 14:03

@Luevzamum desicion made this morning kept hrc and has been awarded lrm, have asked for a statement of reasons as I do believe it should have been hrm but o well I'll try a Mr, awarded has been extended though from 2025 to 2030 so really happy about that, hope you hear back soon please keep me posted xx

Luevzamum · 09/11/2023 15:29

@Jneill2021 oh that’s great I’m so happy for you, it’s been such a long wait and yes as soon as I hear anything I will let you know🥹🥹xx

mooneigh · 16/11/2023 08:47

Thank you @CoffeeLover90 and the others who have given me advice.

I have further evidence and awaiting another assesment to get a second diagnoses ... so with this I was going to do a coc as recommended.

However, I am shocked to get a DLA claim form in the post yesterday as md claim ends in March. So now do I still go ahead and do a coc or do I just do the claim form and add in all the extra evdence ?

Not sure which will be better or quicker....

CoffeeLover90 · 16/11/2023 21:18

@mooneigh I'd ask if you can do both. I'm not sure if you can.
Change of circumstances taking up to 6 months but any change in rate is backdated.
Then send all the same information with your renewal form too.

mooneigh · 17/11/2023 07:47

@CoffeeLover90 Thank you so much, much appreciated :)

Linacre96 · 21/11/2023 20:44
