Oh congratulations @RainbowRaine that is amazing news!! Oh here you are @EB82!!! I’ve been on the part 15 thread! I thought I had lost you! Well i called last Tuesday as it was verging on 3 weeks since the forms were scanned back in on 22th Sept as someone else on thread 15, their MR had been done after a week. So I called with the gut wrenching feeling I had been declined, only to be told they hadn’t even looked at it! He said he would send it to the case manager and to call back in a week, if I hadn’t heard anything. Had a text that night to telL me they were looking at my MR. Thursday I had a text from cahms telling me that the 2nd part of sons autism assessment was booked for next month (very pleased with that as he was only referred in Jan 23), I asked on the thread should I call to update and users said yes, so I called and explained the situation and that I just wanted to update the case and she said oh a decision was made yesterday!!! HRC backdated to 28/04 and then LRM was awarded when he turned 5 in July!! Awarded until 2030. I felt sick, I could barely write the dates, figures she was telling me on the phone!! I have never felt such a wave of relief rush over me and the massive weight I’ve been carrying around with me since May; be lifted!! I honestly can not thank you all enough for moral support and advise!! I probably won’t of known about the MR process nor how easy it was to do, if it hadn’t been mentioned in the threads!! Xxxxx

Muva306 · 16/10/2023 20:28

@Mumto2oneofeach go over ti the dla wait time part 15 threads, there’s loads of June dates being awarded and users updating what they have been told when calling

Muva306 · 16/10/2023 20:31

@Mumof5xo mine was just short of 3 weeks, but from 22nd sept until 10th October it was just sat in a pile and hadn’t been actioned/allocated to a case manager. Some posters on thread 15 have had theirs done as quick as a week-10 days

Congratulations this makes me happy that they do actually change there mind, I did put 2 claims in I got accepted for my 5 year old but wad denied on my 3 year old reasons was just pure shit mind my language but was shocked at the reasons to why the gave he wasn't entitled to it anyway sent another detailed report from nursery so hopefully this time they look properly x

Mumof5xo · 16/10/2023 20:36

I did get a text today saying there looking at it x

EB82 · 16/10/2023 20:43

@Muva306 omg that's amazing, I'm soo happy for you. Such a turnaround from declined to hrc! It just shows the fight is worth it. Well done you ❤️

Muva306 · 16/10/2023 20:55

I know @EB82 I thought the exact same thing!! I think it just goes to show that sometimes the original applications aren’t even looked at by the case managers!! I did think they hadn’t paid much attention as my detailed breakdown listed reasons to declining that I had never raised!! I’m just so glad the process is over! I’ve contacted UC via my journal and told them so my minimum floor income has been lifted, but I’ve been deducted just over 1700 since May due to the minimum floor income, so I want them to backpay the money as technically I’ve been classes as a carer in that period with the DLA being awarded since end of April

You should class as special circumstances because its was still awaiting decision you should get it back dated so I wouldn't worry to much about that x

EB82 · 16/10/2023 21:04

@Muva306 yes mine was removed and backdated was given over £6100 just with minimum floor being removed but it does take a little time. Awww I'm really over the moon for you and until 2030! That's along award 😊

Muva306 · 16/10/2023 21:08

@Mumof5xo yeah the reasons they declined my son were pretty shit!! All very vague and basically said it was normal for a child of his age to need that level of care! And another reason being he hadn’t seen cahms or salt in the 12 months prior to the application being submitted despite me listing in the original application all the appointments he had coming up and I sent additional documents with details that he had a salt appointment and his ped had written to cahms requesting a BOSA. They should understand that the wait time for Cahms are massive so I did think that was pretty unfair to use that as a reason to decline

That's crazy how the said the exact same about mine too said that if the parents ie me gave proper support he would be more exelled also said nursery never noted bad behaviours even though they did so we've sent another more detailed one from them said it was all how he should be for is age I thought what utter bullshit is this

Mumof5xo · 16/10/2023 21:12

Oh also said no salt report was made which was made prior to me claiming we've also been waiting to see a ped for nearly 9 month now but the wait were I am is uo to 2 to 3 year

Muva306 · 16/10/2023 21:13

@EB82 I was shocked at how long the award was for too!! I didn’t have any experience or knowledge of DLA prior to joining these threads a few weeks after my application, but even that I just downloaded the form myself and took months to fill it in. But from the number of users talking about renewals, I thought the awards were usually for a shot period of time. That is really good news to hear they will repay the money deducted due to the minimum floor income!! That was a massive weight of my shoulders once they said they had removed it

Muva306 · 16/10/2023 21:25

Oh my god!! No way @Mumof5xo i completely forgot that part of my detailed breakdown!! They also told me basically to parent better about his eating, behaviour and bed time!! I was absolutely furious at the time when reading that!! I don’t understand when DLA is based on care needs rather than diagnosis, why they use reasons like not seeing salt or cahms as a reason, especially if evidence has been provided that the child is either on the wait list or has an appointment in the near future. Sometimes I think the DM’s make decisions on how they are feeling that day

Lollypops88 · 16/10/2023 21:29

Hey guys theres another part 15 that alot.of people are commenting on amd being awarded mid june

My mate said the same thing to me as the same day my other child's was accepted he got middle rate and his needs weren't as much as my other sons were that got denied he doesn't speak a word he hasn't ever spoken a word that was what they used it for me to I was livid I've wrote how this made me feel in the MR I wasn't having that I have 4 other children I know how they should be behaving for there ages my oldest is 11 its not like I've not seen how a child of that age should be I can imagine how mad you was but atleast now it's sorted and getting high rate is very lucky I will say you only get that for complex day and night care needs I believe my 3 year old should get high but we will see c

Muva306 · 16/10/2023 21:32

@Lollypops88 I’m on that thread too ☺️ it’s really active over there isn’t it

Muva306 · 16/10/2023 21:39

@Mumof5xo i was seething at that comment!! I wrote in my MR that I had attended sleep courses, parenting style courses and how I had removed all the things that could cause issues with bedtime like bottles and dummy’s for at least 2 years. Bedtime/nighttime is absolute hell in my household because he doesn’t sleep and spends all night screaming, shouting and kicking off. I also have a 12 year old son who has no issues and his younger brother nighttime antics really affect him too. Did you send much new evidence with your MR?

I sent about 5 oages detailing why I disagreed stating everything I've wrote was prior to the claim so all salt referrals were made the get to know me form for us to see a ped was sent before I applied I have also done sleep corse 123 magic about 3 other courses which I stated the only other evidence I sent in was the new detailed nursery report because they said nursery wrote no bad behaviours I don't have much evidence as were still waiting to be seem everything has been accepted but the waiting lists for everything are so long I'm just worried I haven't sent enough could I ask what you sent

Mumof5xo · 16/10/2023 21:44

But let me just add my 5 year old which was accepted for mrc was the same he is still waiting to be seen there wasn't even much details on his only a report from school

Muva306 · 16/10/2023 21:48

@Mumof5xo i sent the salt report, his peds report and the letter to cahms again from ped requesting the BOSA
