I see thread 12 is full. Is there a Part 13 already, or shall we make this it?

@Mumofkidsx3 my son has just started secondary school, when I applied he was still in primary. I asked his primary school for copies of his IEP but I’ve had no response. I think I might chase them up again, I’ll more than likely need it if I need to do a MR that way I’ll have more evidence. Knowing the school they probably don’t have it anymore! Just heartbreaking 😞

Lollypops88 · 25/09/2023 00:48

If you ask your local sen person from the council they should prob have copies of it i dont ni how long they keep them but its worth a shot 🌟or any of the other people involved like speach and lang may have something physio peads i dont no ur circumstances possibly ur gp

Mumofkidsx3 · 25/09/2023 01:59

@Jaymum12 i had the same thing with my eldest he’s 14 and didn’t get his ASD diagnosis until he started high school in year 7. I had asked for his referral when he was in year 5, we lived abroad when he was younger and before that I home schooled because he was bullied by the teacher in reception and then bullied at a different school in year 1, the kids cornered him in empty classroom. It’s just disgusting the things some schools get away with. Thankfully the primary my younger two are at is amazing and the high school is ok. My middle boy only got his ASD diagnosis in April this year and he’s 9. He got his adhd diagnosis when he was 8. Crazy how long it takes.

Morning, just a quick update. My scan date was 19/05. I received a text Wednesday, a letter Saturday saying that my son was awarded middle rate care and that the first payment should arrive tomorrow. Good luck to everyone waiting. Fingers crossed for good news today 🤞

Mumtotwoboys121 · 25/09/2023 07:41

@Mumofkidsx3 that is absolutely awful, I do hope your son is ok. My son is 11, he got his ASD diagnosis in March - 3 years later! It took longer because of covid 🙄 just happy he’s got it and secondary are amazing with him. During year 6 he had constant supply teachers which really triggered him, there was no routine, rules were changing, no one understood his needs despite me constantly reminding them! It was a nightmare and so stressful, he would release at the end of the school day. There were a lot of changes during year 6, it would of done more harm than good to move him. They had a massive overhaul on staff when the new headteacher started and it went downhill from there. I can’t fault previous staff though, they were amazing with my son, understood him or took the time to understand his needs and had everything in place for him ❤️ by law they should have his SEN documents on file and transferred over to his new school, but I’m not feeling hopeful 😭

Good luck to everyone this week, fingers crossed you hear 🤞

Hmcc123 · 25/09/2023 09:04

Hmcc123 · 25/09/2023 09:05

Still no descion

allofthelove · 25/09/2023 09:09

I'm the 20th June . Iv had a letter and two texts . I sent in the diagnosis report confirming autism but this was she was in year 2. She's now in Year 7 and she's got a lot more going on than when she was in Year 2. and letter confirming epilepsy diagnosis. I don't think I have sent enough , but that's all I had .

She also masks heavily at school, so I didnt put anyone down from the school due to them not seeing the real side , but now I wish I had put the senco down .

I really think I will be turned down . Can I re apply in the future if we do get turned down and I have more evidence ?

Holly03 · 25/09/2023 09:09

Currently waiting to update bank details. No doubt I won't get through again today as I can't sit on the phone all day after 40 minutes it drops. Don't know why I put a claim in cause I'll never get a payment at this rate. It's about time these updates were done online. I don't know why everyone rings everyday to be told the same thing they were told yesterday

Mumofkidsx3 · 25/09/2023 09:13

@Hmcc123 also on hold 🤣 I’m kinda thinking they’re not going to make the decision till Wednesday given that payments go out on a Wednesday if they make the decision on Monday or Tuesday they’d have to pay us our backdated lump sums within a couple of days 😂 they get to hang onto that money for an extra week if they do the decisions on Wednesday

Hmcc123 · 25/09/2023 09:15

The wait is so annoying xx

Loup19863 · 25/09/2023 09:17

@Hmcc123 was hoping to hear you’d have a decision after calling, this is getting ridiculous now isn’t it, 18wks and still don’t know the outcome. Why don’t you try and call later on today once it’s been open a few hours? I’m not ringing today but I defo will call tomorrow. Hopefully we might get that text today 🤞🏻 x

Mumofkidsx3 · 25/09/2023 09:18

Anyone noticed how the on hold robot 🤖 interrupts herself half through her sentence 😂 good luck everyone
